Although the place to stay was very cheap, and the reception very friendly, one can still try to improve the following: No additional heating in freezing cold rooms in the middle of winter. The mattresses urgently need to be replaced - people can't really sleep on them. The sinks in both the kitchen and bathroom were loose. There was not enough cutlery for 4 people - we bought extra.

I just noticed Shelley's Guest House is not on Google Maps so had to ask for location. The coffee that was put out was delicious. Owner said over and over that we could call her anytime if we had any problems. Area is very safely located away from the town center but easy to get back on the N5 to Harrismith.
As it was my wife and I, there was only one chair. It would have been better to have two chairs as there was space for a second chair.

Not at all. Unit was dirty. Beds up. TV didn't work. Fan not working effectively and it was hot. Got no sleep. Kettle was pitch black inside. Single beds are tired. In addition, if you make a reservation for 4 adults, you will get 2 cots that have been slept in on top of that. If you bring it to their attention then you will just be turned away by last name. I would also advise that they pay a little more attention to the cleanliness, because there was just dust everywhere. never see me again It had been a big disappointment!

I traveled alone and stayed at Shelley's on both the outward journey and the return journey. Shelley received me and made sure I had milk for the coffee and tea that was in the kitchen area. In summary, the following definite plus points can be highlighted: 1. It is located in a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood. There was no noise from vehicles, people or even dogs to disturb me. 2. Parking is right in front of the sleeping unit under a canopy and behind a remote controlled locking gate. 3. There are cutlery and basic kitchen facilities, such as a sink. 4. The TV in the room can be turned off so that the light does not disturb when one is sleeping (I do not watch TV, so it was nice that there was no light that could disturb). I had a wonderful stay and can definitely recommend the place to travelers looking for a good place to stay.

Meet the needs of persons wishing to spend the night.
A clean and well equipped flatlet in which to overnight. The plumbing needs attention. Bath drains very slowly and the shower rose leaks all over the bath when turning on bath taps. Toilet does not flush adequately. Bedside lights a mission to use since one has to plug them in to use and pull the plug out of the adapter to switch off.
We stayed with Shelley for two nights and it was a wonderful experience. The rooms were painfully clean and tidy; the linen was fresh and we slept wonderfully warm despite the icy Bethlehem cold. The room is equipped with enough power plugs, reliable Wi-Fi and Netflix was a big plus. Shelley is an excellent hostess and even her workers and cleaners are impeccably friendly. I will definitely visit them again when I'm in the area.

I brought my elderly parents and other family members to pay a compassionate visit to a seriously ill person. My parents have special needs and the bathroom had to have a bathtub. Most guesthouses only have showers available.

Well equipped accommodation, clean and tidy
Shelly is very friendly and accommodating. I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that we had a big bottle of coffee and sugar in the room, apart from the usual 2-3 sachets, and Shelly also made sure there was milk in the fridge for us (enough for multiple cups of coffee). We were also able to make use of the free WiFi that is provided and the room was decorated beautifully. The bathroom also had air freshener, hand soap, hand lotion, shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom. Which is also something we have never experienced before. It is clear to see that Shelly makes a lot of effort and pays attention to the little things that are sometimes forgotten.
