133 guests' feedbackOur time was very nice.
It was an incredibly nice sleepover. The facilities are well cared for and maintained. Definitely worth staying the night there. Thanks to Mike and his wife for helping us with medicine the next morning.
Value for money is excellent and it's very comfortable accommodation and just what we needed. Nice close to nature.
Siloam Village exceeded our expectations. We really enjoyed our stay.
Very friendly reception. Site and swimming pools very neat and well maintained. House not fully equipped kitchen, cold water in kitchen did not work and also no steak knives and cup or bowl that fit in microwave. Rooms very hot, but we got standing fans. Cute place and great potential to expand.
The fishermans shack should not be recommended to anyone other than a camper who has lost his tent. That it is cheap does not imply value for money.
Suitable for an overnight stay.
James is really a sweet, helpful guy and my stay would have been much worse without him. However, I really did not enjoy my stay at Siloam. The wiring in the rooms and the kitchen of the other room is beyond scary - open wires, filthy plugs. The electricity tripped when I plugged in the microwave in the kitchen because of loose connections. The bed is broken, the pillows need serious replacement and are of very low quality. A heads-up on the water situation would have been nice - especially as there is just Uncle Bill's shop in town - but James did bring me 2 cans of water after I asked, which I really appreciate. The showerhead was so clogged up we had to clean it before we could shower as the water wouldn't come out. The base of the kettle is bent (the plug) so it is a mission to lift the kettle off the base. I appreciate the fact that you gave us access to a unit with a kitchen - but please note - I phoned in advance to ensure the unit that I've booked is equipped for self-catering and it is really not. I know it is Oviston (I've been going there for 5 years now) and resources are limited. We've been staying at different places for half the money every time. I really wanted a proper place to stay this time and therefore we decided to pay R1 000 per night - but honestly, this was not worth R1 000 a night - the place is not up to standard for that kind of money.
Stay was okay except that the place is not clean and towels were not clean.
The room was comfortable and equipped with everything needed. The grounds are very nice and a nice swimming pool, I was pleasantly surprised to see that they also have caravan sites with a well planned obstacle course that can be used well by groups. A very nice place to stay from where one can explore the surroundings.
Accommodation is good, friendly service and safe place. The surrounding area is not that good.
We went as a large group as an overnight stop back from the Cape. James received us very kindly and helped us. Many thanks, James and team, who had the place right for us. Here and there there were small things that could perhaps be improved, but overall it was a beautiful place and I would definitely go again.
Always nice to see the very accumulated water.
Enjoyed the overnight stay very beautiful place very secure.
Booking was for caravan stand. Inaccurate web slides led to this mistaken booking. Siloam upgraded after a battle to get hold of manager. Arrival at 6pm in the dark was poorly tended.
Bathroom in the master bedroom did not work well for 6 adults. The towels were hard. The bugs that were in and on the beds had to be wiped off before you could get into bed. Curtain hooks were off and curtains were hanging loose. The carpets appeared dirty. The master bedroom met the needs. The bedding of the other beds does not look like the pictures. It's a beautiful resort and environment. If the necessary changes are made, it will be a comfortable place to stay.
Wait half an hour before someone opens the gate. Another half hour over supervisor not seeing my reservation. No dinner plates, only porridge bowls. No plug at the kettle. Didn't sleep anything from 3 o'clock, lots of kids next to us too much noise. One pool looks like a frog pond. Playground for kids seesaw broken and just lying there. Power cables cover the entire premises.
Very good and friendly help from caretaker.
It's a beautiful and peaceful place.
We had a very nice stay, so nice that we checked out late. Everything is so beautiful and peaceful, wish we could stay longer. The management is very friendly and helpful. Just what you need for some closure.
Nice campsite with own braai and washing place. Nice clean pool.
Awesome. From book in to departure it was a pleasure to be there.
I booked a campsite for one night because I was sleeping over on the way to Jeffrey's. However, it rained terribly throughout the evening. Siloam accommodated me by offering me a Fishermans Cabin for a small extra fee. Thank you very much for that.
Good location, 3km walk to the water at the dam, a little off the N1 (80km) - that's the only negative, else I guess when the place is busy there are lots of activities inside the Village. Lovely pool, absolution and braai area.
I didn't get there until after 19:00 that evening. Petrus was very helpful and just arranged ice cream for me, because all the shops were then in the area. Very clean and tidy place. The campsites each have their own braai and power point.
Under construction, ideal for a stopover on the way to the east coast!
Good place to stay overnight.
The place is under construction and there aren't really people who can help. The man just gave us our key and left us.
Sorry the benefits you advertise are not available on site.
The staff were very accommodating when I realized that the unit I had booked would not be big enough. They were quick to help me find an alternative unit that would suit.
We stayed overnight and the bed was too firm, the bedside lights didn't work and the shower and kitchenette were poor. All in all very basic.
Accessibility for elderly and disabled persons is not available. They don't even have decent coffee. To use the ablution block you have to cross a very uneven and rough terrain, which is very poorly lit at night and the facilities are at least 200 meters from the sleeping area. The facilities are clean and tidy.
Clean and tidy ablution, nice pool. Small shop on the corner opposite, friendly owners.
Nice stay, well received, peaceful surroundings.
Would definitely recommend it for an overnight stop.
Very beautiful setting with some interesting art work & buildings.
Daniel (host) went to great lengths to wait for us until late during our arrival. Our group really enjoyed the stay in Ribbok and would like to stay longer to do more things in the area! I would definitely recommend Siloam Village.
Siloam Village has a lot of potential. The garden layout is nice. In our accommodation we had plenty of beds, one double and four singles for the three of us, but no table and chairs inside, only outside where it was too hot to sit during daytime. As it is self-catering, one needs to sit somewhere to have meals.
Unfortunately it is situated in a seemingly dodgy area and it took a while to be admitted as there is no gate attendant. Very loud music was played during our stay which was quite unpleasant. Otherwise we had a beautiful ablution block to ourselves as well as access to a very clean pool which was enjoyable, furthermore the camp sites are well equipped with a braai area, sink and table with chairs.
Put water everywhere again, it will look so beautiful. Put more chlorine in swimming pools, that it can be blue and smell clean. Beautiful place. Maybe find a small shop with essentials such as ice, charcoal, blitz etc.
We stayed overnight, but found a few things not acceptable. First of all - I let the person know all the way on our trip we would be arriving around 7 pm, as we travelled long distance, when we arrived he couldn't find the key to our room, then eventually when he found it, I went inside and saw that we now have to share a bathroom with other people who were staying next door to us, this is not what I booked for, nevertheless, I told him I do not want this room, he then opened the room no. 2 for us, and we slept on single beds, the bathroom mats were very dirty, as if not washed in months. Other than that the place was kept clean and neat.
We are a family with 3 teenagers. Siloam went out of their way to make it as enjoyable as possible. The pool was a bonus in the heat.
Siloam Village is a pretty unique place, clean, safe and good location if you want to visit Gariep Dam. We received a friendly welcome and very helpful. Can definitely recommend it!
We arrived late in the evening they drove out especially for us, gave us a better room than we booked due to our child maybe, but was friendly service, beautiful facilities, clean and everything was just fantastic. We are already trying to arrange something with our friends to go there longer so that we can rest, fish etc. Would definitely recommend sleeping over there.
What a wonderful stay we had. The owners are super friendly and extremely helpful. We stayed 2 nights and at the end of it we wished we had an extra few nights. There are still lots to explore. We will definitely go back for more touring.
We were a group of 13 people who spent the night in Siloam Village. We got there late and still our rooms were not ready. It was the day after Christmas and the workers didn't come in - so it was pretty understandable. The rooms were very neat and well furnished. Pool was a bit dirty. But we still swam, as it was hot. The hostess and her husband warmly welcomed us and showed us around. Would definitely recommend it for a group of friends to stay overnight.
Beautiful landscapes with friendly service and great accommodation.
Value for money, a real diamond in the rough. Neat, comfortably furnished and enough parking. Service was fast, nimble and very helpful if you want to leave early.
We were kindly received and warmly welcomed by the staff and really enjoyed our stay in the very neat and nicely furnished room.
Thank you very much for the kindness and neat accommodation. Beautiful place.
Thank you for the friendly reception and a quick overview of everything on site. The unit was small but neat and perfect for our overnight needs.
Coming from J’Bay we were late, but were still greeted by the owner personally! To our surprise we where upgraded to a cottage. Daniel and Caroline made our stay an unforgettable experience!
The place is perfect to stay for one, maybe two nights. The campsite is neat and the unit we stayed in was neat and clean.
Pleasant and friendly reception. Very considerate service and immediately available.
Hospitably received by Caroline. Really appreciated the upgrade to a unit adjacent to the bathroom. Good value for an overnight stay on your way to your final destination.
Siloam Village is quiet, clean and safe, the people are friendly.
The location is a bit far from the N1, but despite that we had a friendly welcome and had a very nice stay. Definitely will again.
The unit is stylish and practical. The kitchen has everything one needs and everything is in good condition. The beds are comfortable and the bedding clean. Really a very cute unit.
Very pleasant driving. Everything neat and in their place. would definitely recommend for an overnight stay, or longer if possible, to visit and see the area.
The swimming pool was lovely, just didn't receive the right info regarding the braai and unit facilities. But they wil definitely see us again.
Can we please have TV we will be using it on the 29th again.
It was a very nice clean room. Just too far out of the way and no restaurant or shop on site.
Beautiful accommodation with a beautiful view of Gariep Dam. Lovely swimming pool and braai facilities. Beautiful surroundings. We had a great time, thank you.
Very nice and tidy place to sleep. The staff is very willing to help you.
Had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the beauty. Nice quiet and very hospitable.
Siloam Village was breathtaking. Could finish well. People are very friendly and yes it was awesome. Will definitely go back.
The premises are interesting, neat and clean, the staff friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend it. Thank you Siloam Village for a pleasant experience.
We arrived late in the evening but were welcomed with a tray of coffee, tea and fruit juice. Siloam Village is slightly off the beaten track but well worth the extra travel time. The rooms were tastefully decorated, and very comfortable and clean, we were very impressed with the whole experience.
Very professional and thorough. Clean and well kept. The staff are very helpful and we felt safe and secure. Highly recommended and will visit again.
A beautiful destination as a relaxation or even overnight when you travel.
The place is very beautiful and well maintained. The staff is very professional and friendly. We immediately felt at home. I would gladly recommend it.
Wonderful stay. We had excellent service and the units are spacious, clean and very affordable.
We really enjoyed ourselves and managed to relax. The place is so wonderful and quiet, we really appreciated the hospitality we received there and hope to visit again.
Very good facilities, but more of a summer destination. Hospitality and facilities excellent.
Beautiful hidden gem. Owners have put a lot of effort into detail. Beautiful swimming pool. Donkey, camels, bunnies etc. on site!
Would recommend to anyone, the staff was more than eager to assist and very friendly!
Very helpful and friendly. The accommodation was clean and well looked after.
Very neat place. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Would recommend to other tourists anytime!
Very nice and very recommendable.
Very relaxing atmosphere and there is no noise. A lot of things for the kids to do. The children enjoyed feeding the camel and other animals.
Incredible weekend with the family with beautiful memories. Thanks to Matthew from Siloam Village for the help and hospitality. Would definitely recommend this place and even visit again.
We really enjoyed it there. The people are very friendly and helpful. They really went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied. The animals were also a great asset. I would really recommend it for families.
The stay was very pleasant apart from the bloody heat. We did have a fan that helped. We were very kindly received and will spend the night there again.
We called the lodge when we were about 200 km away. I calculated that we would be there at 15:00 and we were in front of their gate at 15:10. The bell didn't work and no one answered the phones. Having just driven almost 700 km, it is extremely annoying to be stuck at a dead man's door when you have made arrangements. For the rest, the reception was good, the accommodation was not exactly what we expected, but maybe in line with what we paid. The lodge apparently runs courses for children throughout the year with the result that our room was quite cramped with a double bed, a single bed and a two bed "bunk". The staff were very friendly and helpful and the dinner we got was completely on the mark. Overall it was a very acceptable evening.
Interesting place, children really enjoyed the pool. Delicious grilled under the stars. Very quiet and peaceful, away from all noise. Admin with the purchase of meat packs, porridge and sauce, drinks and soft drinks can be done more professionally. No slip received. Friendly and very helpful people, will definitely spend the night there again. Thank you.
No coffee, milk, sugar, expected it.
I was not aware that it was so far from Gariep Dam itself. Wasn't aware that toilet was so far and that there was a double sofa. The information should have been given to me on booking. The fire extinguisher's marking date has expired. Big mistake.
Plek was baie skoon, mooi en netjies. Ontvangs was goed. Geen probleme nie.
Thank you very much for a very pleasant time at your beautiful place. Like oasis in a desert. May the Lord bless you richly.
A beautiful place, ideal for sleeping over and relaxing.
Management and staff, very friendly, helpful and make you feel at home.
I really appreciated the owner contacting me to confirm arrangements and that I had accurate directions the morning of our arrival. Our little cabin had everything we needed for a one-night stop over, and the ablutions were very clean and private.
Caroline was very friendly and helpful.
Staff is friendly, place is very neat.
A special place hidden for special people, a piece of heaven on earth where God makes things happen inside you. Definitely worth the little extra drive.
Siloam Village is next to Gariep Dam and not close to the main road, so it is a quiet and peaceful place. The facilities are excellent and everything a camper needs is there.
We really enjoyed Siloam Village. It's quiet, with not many, but very neat camping stands. The swimming pool is conveniently close, but the ablutions quite far from the stands. The staff were friendly, hospitable and helpful at all times. We quickly felt at home. Would definitely stay at Siloam Village again.
We were very happy with the excellent service and willigness. Also with the neatness and how pretty the place is. We will definitely use them again.
Great people, great facilities, would definitely recommend to everyone.
The owners really made a lot of effort to make us feel welcome. Affordable accommodation, rooms clean and tidy. Beautiful swimming facilities. Animals on site are a bonus.
This is not the first time we have stayed over here and it is always a wonderful experience.
It was nice. There is not much for children to do apart from looking at the animals and swimming. It's a nice place to sleep halfway to the sea.
Siloam Village is suitable for group booking, especially camps for children.
The accommodation is pet friendly, we were very hospitably received. Weber barbecue was provided and we could barbecue in the evening, another bonus was the fresh milk given at the coffee/tea facilities.
Small but comfortable.
Neat and tidy rooms but dinner was a disappointment, not value for money. Would suggest self catering. A lot of rules upon arrival and sign in after a long trip.
Bathrooms were very far to walk, next morning found out there were toilets next to the kitchen. Our linen was not good, we put towels under 2 pillows, could not call it a pillow. A backpackers against this was 5 star! No water in fridge, had to have our own coffee, no cooldrinks in fridge, electricity went out at 4, could not make anything. Room service in other rooms were nice, but ours felt dirty.
We were well received and cared for, we highly recommend this venue. We were able to rest well after a very long day on the road!
It truly is worth the money. The friendly reception and attitude of staff makes one feel even more at home. The rooms are unbelievable with decorations against the walls. The beds are so comfortable that you don't even miss your own bed at home for one second. Everyone of us really enjoyed every single second. Oh and I would definitely stay there again. Thank you Caroline and everyone.
Thank you Siloam Village. We felt very special with our arrival, stay and departure! Even with the problem with the flat tire, management came to help us immediately! It is a place that can be recommended with ease and pride.
Very clean and tidy. Comfortable sleep and beautiful swimming pool facilities.
Has a lot of potential. Looks like they are fixing the place up nicely. Unfortunately, they don't have a restaurant yet.
See stars.
We were not happy. There was no WiFi and had to cut short our days there. At least we were offered three days to come back again. Very nice and helpful workers.
The development of this place and the space has lots of potential! Large or small groups could be hosted there.
The owners were very helpful and the swimming pool was welcome after a long ride.
Location is just a bit far for a stopover between Cape Town and Johannesburg. Nice clean and good mattresses. Thank you very much for the effort made for us.
There is no place on the premises to buy something to drink. We called and were told there was a restaurant for dinner and breakfast, which was also not there.
It is located in a good area and the scenery offers a lot of relaxation.
Nice stay. Would recommend more fans in summer.
Don't get caught out with your timings out there ... 18:00 is sundowner time, for everyone!
It's too far from the N1 to drive another 80 km to your overnight accommodation.
Very helpful management.
We will visit again. Just a pity they ran out of chlorine for the pool, so that nobody could use it.
See the stars below.
See the stars below.
The place is beautifully equipped with everything you need! Unfortunately it wasn't that clean, but that can be fixed. John was very helpful.
Very pleasantly surprised!
Everything was good.
