9 guests' feedbackNot at all. We attended a meeting and were busy until 7 o'clock Sunday morning. We were tired and would have liked to have stayed until 12 o'clock as we didn't use the 2 rooms at all at that point. The owner was unsympathetic and simply refused. We slept for 2 hours after which we had to drive more than 300 km. She didn't even say hello at all.
The accommodation was neat and met our expectations. Shops etc. were close.
The service was prompt and friendly. I am a regular visitor to the lodge with no problems with booking. Will use the site's services again in the future.
We checked in at 11:30 and the room was not ready yet. The air con did not work, if you want to sleep with the roof fan on, there is one of the headlights that also stays on, we had to take out the globe. The shower, when you open the tap the water sprays over the top of the wall and wets the whole bathroom. There was no fridge, we had to ask for one. The buffet dinner was cold and the crumbled chicken was baked way too hard. You are brought cold drinks with no ice. You cannot decide for yourself what you want to drink. Very poor will not go there again.
Only problem was poor WiFi.
Silverton Lodge is located in a nice and quiet area. The rooms are very spacious.
The receptionist was unfriendly. We wanted to know if she could give us directions where to go for dinner, she couldn't help us. The toilets in my room did not flush. At breakfast there was only instant coffee.
1. Rooms are spacious and nicely furnished but dirty. We could not even put our luggage on the shelves of the wardrobe as they were dusty, even after telling the staff nothing was done. 2. Reception is not manned on a continuous basis. You wait and call and call for attention. We also realised there were two ladies who were alternating. In addition to taking care of reception they were also the ones cooking and cleaning! 3. While security on the premises didn't look bad, we were shocked to learn that the room doors could not close properly and a closed door can actually be opened from outside! Door security should be one of the biggest things in a lodge/hotel.
