Very nice, if eclectic decor. Logistics of stay difficult. Tea and coffee in owner's sitting room, as was access to loo and shower. Inexpensive, and would only recommend to someone who was happy with shared bathroom. Load shedding made life very difficult as room got very cold, often at inconvenient times. Eskom's fault. Owner very nice, unconventional person.

If you happen to find yourself in this little town, then you must make a plan to stay at Simply M. Beautifully converted from an old church building, this accommodation truly gives you a unique experience. We were very well received by our hostess Miems, who lives on the premises. We had arranged dinner with her and she cooked us the most wonderful food with local ingredients and even some items out of her garden! The room was spotlessly clean and neat, and we slept very well. Would highly recommend this guest house.

"Somewhat dissatisfied with what was advertised and what we got."

When we saw the ad it was beautiful, and we honestly couldn't wait to spend the night. We were contacted and told that we should please let them know 30 minutes in advance that she can unlock for us - knowing that we sleep alone in the guest house. Nevertheless upon our arrival we were overwhelmed, literally and figuratively right up to the room. We couldn't get out and pack bags calmly after a long journey. Don't get me wrong at all - the house (old church) is beautiful and exactly like the photos, but the advertisement is completely misleading. Apart from the fact that the place's name and description have now changed, we were under the impression that you have access to the kitchen facilities (as previously listed) and that after a long journey we can heat your food and just enjoy the evening outside and have a nice swim . When we arrived, the hostess told us that we should go out to eat if I remember correctly at half past 8, with that I explained to her that we had bought some things and would like to be at home and relax her feedback- the kitchen is totally 'off limits' it is not self-catering. Telling over and over about water being scarce, the pool she can't maintain and clean every week or month. We fully understand we also come from an area with high water restrictions, but it was so bad that we felt guilty for swimming or bathing. Dusty towels. My list could go on, but overall it just wasn't the nicest place. Very expensive for what you get at the end of the day.
