57 guests' feedbackWe had a very nice stay. Place was clean and tidy and felt very welcome on the farm.
We were so fortunate to be able to add some lifer birds to our list. Very peaceful and beautiful starry sky. Lovely accommodation outside the town, but not too far out of town. Do try Sisbala.
Andries is an attentive host. The cottage has a lovely setting and is well equipped. A perfect get away from technology.
Sisibala Cottage is situated 2 km from the farmhouse. As you sit on the stoep and look out over the waterhole, you could believe that you were in a remote game reserve. A variety of birds, lots of springbuck and wildebeest and many more creatures came to drink as we sat looking out over the veld. Our host, Andries, was very helpful and friendly. The beds are comfortable and lovely cotton linen is provided. The kitchen is basic but fine for an overnight stop. Could be a bit small for 4 people unless you know each other very well. The cottage is super clean!
See stars.
Lovely time in the quietness of the bush with many sightings of different species of animals. Host was available always and was excellent in arranging for services immediately when the electricity line was struck with lightning, so we were only without electricity for a couple of hours. A wonderful place to be for guests wanting to be in touch with nature and not the busy-ness of the city.
Will definitely visit again! Friendly host, beautiful farm and wildlife, very private.
Owner was very friendly. Place was clean and safe. Nice place to relax, kids enjoyed walking around the field.
Beautiful nature and surroundings.
The distance from Kimberley makes the destination very special. The cottage has everything needed and the view and wildlife sightings are fantastic.
The stars were amazing.
Away from the hustle and bustle, rest for the soul. If you like silence and a sky full of stars, this is the place for you. The beauty lies in the simplicity. Would definitely stay there again!
Andries was very friendly. Would definitely stay here a lot longer. Would back wood and have a braai under the stars.
Not too far out of town. Will stay there again.
Andries is an excellent host! Friendly, helpful. Beautiful accommodation with everything you need. Beautiful location. Quiet and peaceful.
Sisibala is an excellent place for people who are not keen on luxury but love nature. We had a wonderful time relaxing in the beautiful surroundings, away from all the noise and were lucky to see a lot of wildlife, as well as many birds. The owner is particularly hospitable and was willing to help at any time, if we needed anything.
Our host went out of his way to make us feel comfortable. He took us on a wonderful game drive, giving us interesting information on the game and local bush. Thank you for a great stay.
The location of the unit is perfect. It is away from the road, the view and scenery is also very calming. The host was also very welcoming.
Friendly and warm people.
A friendly owner who informs you how things work, indicates walking routes, keeps his finger on the pulse and makes his guests feel welcome. Many bird species to identify. Game that comes to drink at the waterhole is something special for city jays.
It will be a lovely place in the summer when you can sit outside. It was a bit cold and there is no seating inside. There are aircons, but no remote.
I want to thank Andries for his hospitality. The Sisibala Cottage is remote and that is exactly what we were looking far. My children enjoyed it, they went walking and exploring. The tranquility is amazing.
What a wonderful place to go and get quiet and really value for money
The wild animals were a treat to watch from the stoep!
My 2 children really enjoyed it, they were in the field all day and kept themselves busy. It was really a very nice weekend and Oom Andries goes out of his way to make your visit go smoothly. Will definitely go there again in the future. We had friends who came out on Saturday and hung out and they enjoyed it just as much. Sat on the porch and could see when some of the animals came to drink water, which my children thoroughly enjoyed. The place is worth its money.
The owner was very friendly and helpful. The cottage is very clean and everything you will need is included and we really enjoyed the tranquility, especially after the long drive from Mossel Bay.
Enjoyed it a lot. Warm welcome, would love to go back again.
Very small and simple house where one can experience the infinite karoo plain. It's for people who want to get away from the suburbs and the cities. You feel very small under the big starry sky! We had a big thunderstorm - the first after a long drought - and it was unforgettable. There is no Vodacom reception (apparently MTN works better. Not sure about Cell C), but an even better idea is to just switch off your mobile and forget about it. The owner, Andries, is a kind and helpful person. Maybe bring a citronella oil lamp if you don't want to be bothered by insects. You are really very close to nature there on the plain. I will definitely visit again.
Very peaceful! Enjoyed the mountain bike trails! Will visit Sisibala again.
Sisibala Cottage was very relaxing, very hospitable host and an excellent getaway.
Sisibala is a place of calm and dead silence. All facilities were at our disposal. It is in the middle of a game farm, so a dirt road is driven and the road is not bad at all, we are with a polo all the way home. At sunset, we saw a giant turtle that came walking across the plain to come and drink water, several species of goats were also an experience. Place of rest it truly is! We will definitely rest there again!
No words can describe the goodness one experiences. Can't wait for my next visit.
Everything that one may need, stripped of everything that one sometimes must/want to get away from.
Sisibala is a beautiful cottage with all facilities, neat and clean with everything one needs, far from any other people, roads, traffic or even the farm homestead. It is sad that it is so dry in the area, but close to the cottage is a water hole where wildlife comes to drink water, there are even lights at the water hole so that you can see the wildlife at night too. We really enjoyed it and can recommend it to any person who likes to live close to nature and is not afraid to be far from everything. I'm sorry we only stayed one night, would go back anytime and want to stay another night or two, three.
Andries, thank you very much for your friendly reception and the wonderful few days we were able to spend there with you! We would love to do it again!
A well thought out, well built cottage on a game farm. Nothing superfluous but everything you need and nicely done (good quality). The host was fantastic. Various species of buck plus some wildebeest and warthogs came to the watering hole and the were plenty of ground squirrels and birds to watch as well. I say it again - perfect - I will be going back.
Sisibala is close to everything there is to see in Kimberley and surroundings. Well equipped. Also nice for hunters. We would stay here again anytime.
What a wonderful, peaceful place to stay. I would definitely recommend Sisibala to any nature lover.
Very pleasant, tranquil and safe accommodation close to nature. Friendly reception by the owner. Very helpful and good directions.
Andries received us kindly and came every day to check if everything was in order, very nice person. We saw elk, blue wildebeest, springbok, a very large warthog bear, fan-tailed ground squirrels, stick-tailed otters, spring hares, as well as many birds from where we sat outside under the canopy.
Good communication and directions from owner, Andries. Very friendly reception and owner. Cottage wonderful on farm with water hole, nice and pleasant. Very reasonably priced with the necessary facilities for a night or 3. Can definitely stay for more than one night. Will stay there again and give the details to friends.
So quiet, unbelievable. Nothing, just you and the forest.
See the stars.
For the price more than you can expect. All expectations exceeded and with more than enough to enjoy self-catering. Superlative!
A getaway experience from the city.
Very nice stay. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Would stay there again anytime.
The cottage is clean with little or no insects. Always quiet with no noise from the city. Well located near waterhole for wildlife viewing. The owner is friendly, and always helpful with an excellent knowledge of nature and wildlife. Definitely a winner in my family's weekend. Will definitely go back again. Will definitely refer friends and family to Sisibala Cottage.
Ideal for a week or weekend breakaway off the beaten track. Friendly hosts.
The owner Andries is hospitable and took us with his vehicle to see wildlife. Beautiful open plains. Sharon received us kindly. I would love to go back to Sisibala again, the children really enjoyed the farm.
If you love nature, I would highly recommend Sisibala Cottage to you.
Well worth deviating the few kilometers from the main road to relax by a thorn log fire in absolute silence. The cottage is small, but extremely clean and tidy and is adequately equipped. The two bedrooms each have a hand basin and two built-in single beds with nice mattresses and top quality linen. The shower and the separate toilet were clean and the kitchen adequately equipped. A dining table and chairs are covered on the open porch and the braai area and fire pit just next door.
A peaceful and quiet area with lots of game. Cottage is clean and well equipped, on hot days you miss aircon. A place to recharge and just relax with your family.
Very nice place. If you want to rest your soul now, this is the place. Only slept one night and we saw a lot of wildlife at our barbecue. Owner is very helpful. This is not Lost City. It is a normal house in a unique place.
This is a must. Close to Kimberley, in nature, good value for money.
What a beautiful place on a game farm. It was lovely to have my husband and children to myself for the weekend, nothing to distract us from each other. Sisibala is definitely what one needs after a hard week!
After a long day on the road, you find rest for your soul again. Appreciate the silence and wildlife that come to drink water.
The lighting is very poor and there are no cooking facilities such as a stove, plates or microwave oven, only a gas bottle. Rooms with two single beds and a sink in between do not work. Amenities in general very basic. The dirt road with an ordinary car is going to bother. However, the owners are very friendly and helpful.
