Hi, we had a great stay. This was our third time and always satisfied.
Just overslept on the way to Pretoria, but all the facilities are there and very comfortable and pleasant. The double bed is top quality and I almost squealed with joy when I saw the electric blanket. It was July and minus 5 degrees. No living thing can survive in that cold without an electric blanket.

The shower was spotless, with a choice of two types of coffee, plenty of fresh milk, fresh biscuits for the morning and a full DSTV package - we were even able to record F1 qualifying and watch it later!

We had a great time at the foot of Skietberg. It is a quiet environment. The rooms were neat and everything in its place. There was even nut coffee for the "plunger" which we really enjoyed.

Accommodation is very cute and comfortable. We slept very well. The only recommendation I do have is to maybe look at a shower curtain or door, because the whole bathroom gets wet when you shower. Photos need to be updated as the changes to the spots are much better than the photos show.

Though we just stayed for 1 night, we had a lovely stay. Finding Skietberg Lodge was easy, and check in took a minute. The self-caring unit was clean and comfortable, with the lovely addition of some homemade rusks, and fresh milk in the fridge. We stayed on a super cold winter's night and thought the duvets were fine, an electric blanket would have been incredibly useful. Not everyone can sleep under heavy layers of blankets. The walk-in shower was easy to use. The car parking was safe and secure. Will happily recommend. Thank you!

The space in the room was more than enough for me and my road trip buddy. Kitchen was big enough to put together a light dinner without cooking. Shower was heavenly even though the shower door is impractical for curvy people. Had parking right at our door which made loading and unloading luggage easy.

We return repeatedly to Skietberg Lodge when we travel between Gauteng and the Cape. The large rooms where we can rest together as a family are spacious and clean and the beds are of high quality. Everything a traveler needs for an overnight stay is available, right down to a private barbecue area in the beautiful garden.

We were received friendly and welcoming and Karin made sure everything in our room was in order. The room and facilities are very neat, good quality and taste, comfortable use with everything we could possibly need. We could even barbecue in our own area if we wanted. Lovely hot shower, well-equipped self-catering kitchen area with enough milk and coffee/tea for at least a cuppa in the evening and morning! It's also lovely quiet in the area and our vehicle was safe. It had indeed been a lovely overnight stop.

Spacious and practical accommodation in a quiet street. Everything was neat and clean. What we lacked was quickly supplied to us. There might just be more storage space for soap etc. in the shower. We slept great and would stay here again.

Only one bad point though: The fridge next to the single beds is noisy and disturbing for guests who were sleeping there.

Room 1 has the following areas for improvement: 1. The WiFi signal is unusably bad. A signal booster should be installed. 2. Facilities in this regard will greatly contribute to the user-friendliness of Room 1.

It was spotless, neat. Lovely pool in which we could cool off and beautiful garden where our son could play. Bath facilities great. Will definitely stay here again.
My mother was at Skietberg during October 2018 and she referred us to the overnight stay. It was neat, safe and pleasant. The restaurant is within walking distance and we have always felt safe. The people were all friendly too.
Very clean and quiet. No noise like at the place near the main road where the trucks keep you awake long after sunset.
We were pleasantly surprised with the hospitality, and neat and clean appearance of the lodge. We'll definitely stay there again!

We were a bit disappointed with the location of the house we stayed in. It was in a very dodgy part of town, literally down town. This was not mentioned to us in advance. We made the reservation based on the photos we saw on the internet. There was only one photo of the inside of the house we slept in, which is neat. But the location really put us off. I didn't like the fact that we had to get out to open the garage door. Being a solid door that opens directly onto the street, it also made me feel unsafe. You can't see if there's anyone standing on the other side until you open the door. The front door of the house was also open and put me off a lot. There was a security gate that was locked. But we got there late, so it was already dark. You stop at the back of the yard and enter the kitchen's sliding door. If my husband hadn't walked through the house, we wouldn't have noticed the open door and would have slept with an open door all night (the door is right on the street). There was someone knocking on that door during the night, I slept terribly the rest of the evening and was scared. In terms of cleanliness, we can't complain. I just think guests should be properly informed about where they will be placed. It really wasn't a nice part of town to live in.
We were received very kindly at Skietberg. However, the house where we stayed is in another part of town. Still we felt safe as we had secure lock up parking. The house is old, but neat and clean. It was value for money and ideal for up to two families to sleep over. Feel free to go to sleep at Skietberg!
It was just right for a pitstop between Cape Town and Durban. Comfortable, clean, everything we needed with the bonus of filter coffee. Inside and outside roomy.

Advertising is unfortunately misleading. The self-catering unit for 7 people is not located near or on the same premises as the B&B. So there is no pool or lawn for children. House is spacious and enough space for everyone. Lots of privacy and security. Will definitely stay here again.

I slept with a student's daughter on the way from Pretoria to Stellenbosch. Very good value for money with very friendly and professional service. Lovely large room with all facilities and coffee, tea, biscuits, sugar, milk. Really absolutely nothing short and would definitely recommend Skietberg Lodge. We had a delicious meal in Dorp by Platteland which was recommended by Skietberg. Colesberg was a pleasant surprise.

People are very friendly and helpful. I was late because traffic on N1 and they waited patiently and communicated with me from early on what time I would be there and also helped with directions. Rooms are clean and tidy with everything we needed in the rooms.

Received a lot of kindness with a fresh place to stay with everything that could be needed. The linen, equipment and furniture make it a comfortable self-catering accommodation. You immediately feel at home.

The picture on the site is a bit misleading from where we eventually stayed. We chose the house and not the separate units. The unit itself was clean and orderly and pleasant enough. To get to the unit was a bit unnerving if you are not from Colesburg. Relatively secluded and little or no traffic. However we were at no stage threatened or scared.

Was well received. It was very cold that weekend. There are two points that need attention. The legs of the two single beds were down and it felt like we were at sea. The air-conditioner in the great room did not heat up. Suggestion: Split the supply to the bathroom ceiling fan and lift so that they can be selected separately from each other.
Accommodation was clean and neat and not expensive. I was not aware that our accommodation would be a separate house away from Skietberg Lodge. Our host made it clear that it was budget accommodation and that the better accommodation was available at the Lodge. I accept that it is a good price, but would have wanted to know before we booked that it would mean that we would't stay at Skietberg Lodge. My bigger problem is that the premises we stayed at did had safety bars on all the windows and doors. That can be a problem in case of a fire.
Children really enjoyed the pool and the room was clean and tidy. Secure parking for our car was also available. Will definitely use them again for overnight stays.

We had a nice stay in the house with 3 bedrooms, kitchen and living room. Although we got in quite late and didn't make use of all the facilities, it was nice to find that everything you could possibly need was provided and even the garage has double parking. We will book there again.

Skietberg Lodge's rooms are comfortable, tidy and exactly as advertised. The owners are friendly and helpful while giving us enough space to hang out privately! The garden is beautiful. Septimus the Bull Terrier is too cute! I recommend Skietberg Lodge!
We had a lovely stay - everything you need is there. Only observation maybe is that if one wants to braai it may not be very private, but the braai things are all available.
A little difficult to get to the lodge because there are almost no street names left. However, we were warmly welcomed. Stay was very pleasant, and you definitely get value for your money.

Skietberg Lodge was very pleasant and I would definitely recommend it as a stopover after a long day on the road.
Good accommodation for travelers on the N1 route. Nothing luxurious, but with everything you need. The lodge is located outside the town and therefore it is quiet and relaxing. Even though you have to drive into town for restaurants.
What a nice place! We were very satisfied with the service and place. It was very neat and clean. I would use them again for overnight accommodation anytime. They are located on a nice quiet street and we had safe parking. We slept well after a long day on the road! Thank you very much!

The room was clean and tidy but we didn't expect it to be just an "outside room with bathroom" attached to a house. The bathroom was very comfortable but there is definitely a problem with the drainage system - it didn't smell good - possibly just need to doctor the drains. Possibly more suitable for business travelers who are literally just looking for a place to sleep without any space e.g. a place to sit and eat/watch TV.
The place was clean and we had a very pleasant stay. A TV in the bedroom would be a bonus. The aircon in the bedroom worked on fan only, however, the unit in the lounge area cooled the entire place off. I would definitely stay there again but in a different unit perhaps, closer to the pool area. Love the self-catering facilities. Very friendly staff!

The rooms were neat and the breakfast was top notch.
Our unit was nice and spacious and the large fridge, with freezer, helped a lot with our frozen meat that we took with us on holiday. The pool was a lovely treat after a long hot day on the road. Would definitely recommend Skietberg for its peaceful atmosphere and clean facilities.
We had vehicle problems very early the next morning, and the people of Skietberg helped us with a smile, and did everything they could to get us back on our way quickly.
We will definitely stay here again. Everything is neat and clean and the air conditioning was a plus.
