I would unreservedly recommend this establishment to family and friends.
I recommend this accommodation! It's different and although old-fashioned, it's well kept, maintained and looked after. Summer must be a delight - my travel time was in winter but the bedding was warm, soft and fresh, so much appreciated.
We travel for 40-plus weeks of the year and we highly recommend Skinkikofi. Owner Marius was a dream host, who went out of his way to accommodate our every need. Our rooms were very well appointed and included everything we needed for a week-long stay, including a gas cooker, kettle and emergency light for loadshedding. Strong WiFi was essential to our job in social media, and the WiFi at Skinkikofi was not only strong but very stable. Ample parking and within walking distance of restaurants, shops (Spar and Woolworths Foods) and laundry. Definitely on our top 10 accommodation list.

The location is perfect for Interschools! Maybe not if you're looking for something quiet and secluded. Hamkikofie is located on the main street right after the Spar as you drive into Paarl. (Boys' High's side). Even though the owners tease that they only take Boys' Highers, they and even the guests were terribly polite to this young Gimmie. It is walking distance from Hussar Grill and Brauhaus. And only 2 km walking distance from Faure street. I couldn't be more excited about the location. The customer service is terribly accommodating. We had to book in on the Friday, but I was late for my 10 year reunion and I myself was a bit rude not to have given Skinkikoffe a heads up. 21:00 Skinkikoffie calls me terribly gifted to make arrangements for our arrival. They had no problem with it if we wanted to hang out even until 3:00 in the morning, we just had to call. Before twelve, with a hop in the step, we were very quickly and cheerfully helped and taken to our room. The owners are incredibly friendly and I had a nice chat. The only reason why safety doesn't also get 5 stars is just because of the location. As I mentioned you are on the main street and there are characters walking by, but your car is safely parked inside. Hamkikofie is staffed with a high wall and electric gate. You get keys and a remote to get yourself in and out. So it is very safe. We just really wanted to sleep that night so I didn't pay much attention to the guest house itself, but the room is nice and big and there is a fridge and microwave and basic utensils for tea and coffee, as well as nice cold milk right in the refrigerator. We also had a quick look at the swimming pool on Saturday morning, which was still very beautiful. We also got the room right next to the entrance which I believe is one of the smaller rooms when I compare it to the photos, but again was perfect for the purpose we shorted it for. Very neat and that nice African rural hospitality feeling. And I'm from the West Coast, so that's saying a lot. I don't know if I will do interschools every year, but if this is the case I would like to stay at Skinkikoffie every year now.

The room is comfortable and one feels safe. We had a great time. Just the front view of the place alone is enough to make one curious to see more of it.

Welcome home! It feels like you've known the owners for years. If you like antiques, you will especially appreciate this place. You marvel at how they put the antique pieces to practical use and keep everything as convenient as possible. It's like candy for your eyes here! They also offer long-term accommodation with a well-equipped kitchen in each. Feel free to order breakfast with a delicious bag of coffee. Marius is very helpful and even helped by recommending attractions and drawing us a map. What a pleasant experience.

Great place and value for money. There are a few restaurants close by and if you're bored, do visit the Taal monument - just up the straat, up the mountain and then left.
We stayed over at Skinkikofi after a a wedding in the Paarl district and can definitely recommend it to anyone passing through. The place is really cute and very clean. Parking inside was a bit cramp but otherwise a very enjoyable stay.

Beautiful bedroom with all the necessities. Unfortunately, the recommended restaurant next door is very expensive, but there are many places to get a takeaway or you can barbecue at the place. Enjoyed it there.
Had to buy water because management connected undrinkable water in system. A long pile carpet in the bathroom is not a good choice where a lot of feet pass over - was not very clean either. No dishcloth or dish towel. Too many "props" for such a small area. Shower outlet was already clogged the first day upon arrival (if shower was cleaned after previous visitors it should have been picked up).
Skinkikofi is just the best and I would gladly recommend them.

I stayed there with my elderly parents. The receptionist immediately made a move that they didn't need to climb stairs. The service is of high quality. The guest house is really special and very neat. The interior is special and done with care.

Nice close to places to eat, friendly welcome, and the place is clearly well managed. The main road is very close and therefore there is a good soundproof door installed at the room. Will definitely stay here again, the breakfast was just maybe a bit expensive for what a "banter" like me could eat out of it, but breakfast is optional and you don't have to use it.

Friendly welcome, well equipped unit that has very unique decor and is conveniently close to Cape Town and surrounding towns. The accommodation is recommended for the traveler looking for tranquility at an affordable price.
The stairs are not too bad but it is not ideal when you have to carry a lot of luggage.

We booked the room with 4 beds which was advertised as a separate apartment. The owners, Diana and Marius, are very friendly. They go out of their way to accommodate you. The room was clean and neat everyday. Breakfast was divine and we felt safe. However, the pictures are NOT AT ALL what the room looks like in reality. The pictures are old and differ from the product you get. We were very shocked when we expected an apartment with two rooms, a lounge, braai area and working kitchen. In reality the room is very small and not at all suitable for 4 people. It is for a maximum of 3 people for a short time. It is also difficult to see the apartment as having separate rooms. It is actually 1 room with a wooden partition for the other room. So if you are not prepared that the rooms are different from your expectations, it is very easy to feel that you were cheated and it is likely that the price would then seem unfair. If you want to book this room, rather request updated photos. I would definitely recommend Skinkikofi, but rather request updated descriptions and photos. We also saw the normal rooms when Marius let us use another bathroom. The normal rooms are very neat and considerably larger.

However, there are only two aspects that would make us perhaps not stay there again. Firstly the very difficult stairs and secondly the narrow parking areas. Parking there with a larger vehicle like a bakkie was a big challenge every time.
