37 guests' feedbackAlthough the tents need upgrading, everything was clean and tidy. Site clean. Bathrooms clean. Could absolutely be a star destination with some upgrading. Host and hostess very pleasant. Food in Red Spider was delicious!

The hosts were very welcoming and the facilities were nice and clean. Our meal at the restaurant was delicious.
Would recommend but attention should be paid to tents. Ours leaked so my wife was very disappointed to wake up wet. If you walk around a corner at night, you must first walk around a big corner to turn on the lights, this can improve. We walked a day early because of the leaking tent.
We went there with our motorbike on a tour through the West Coast and had a good time and slept well even though the wind was a bit bad it didn't bother us and would recommend the place.
It was great to have all the facilities needed in the communal kitchen. The braai area was perfect. The ablutions area was very clean. The beds were comfortable.
Can recommend Skulpieskraal, has everything you need plus clean, quiet with good location.

The world is very beautiful and the hosts very friendly, we relaxed and slept very well in our tent, the showers work well and the toilets are very clean, all in all it was a good experience.
After exploring Hondeklip Bay we enjoyed a nice dinner at the restaurant and after a long day on the road a bed was just what we needed, we had lovely hot shower facilities the next morning.
We only slept one night and left early. No one even called us to find out where we were. It doesn't look like the pictures at all. Tents very old and you don't feel safe at all.
Host and hostess are very friendly and make you feel at home. Tent is warm, clean and tidy.
Very quaint and different but a wonderful place to stay at, dinner was effected by load shedding so was limited but what we had was great well done for a great stay.

Was a very nice place! We got there at half past 5 and then the restaurant closed, further up the town we couldn't find food anywhere else to eat. Fortunately, the aunt at Die Ark-winkel helped us with something to eat. I would suggest that the restaurant might close later in December and holiday times

Perfect for the camper without camping gear. Cozy and friendly. Simple, friendly accommodation without pretension. Don't expect fancy facilities!
Neat and everything needed in the kitchen. We enjoyed it. Camp could do with some love but is a good place to stay. Can get cool in the evenings so pack a jacket.
We were offered electric blankets when the weather turned really cold - and those of us who didn't bring towels were very grateful to be offered towels by the host.
The Tented Camp lived up to expectations. Neat and clean with communal ablution facilities as advertised. The Red Spider Restaurant, well, was a disappointment. Despite the fact that I had already booked a table for dinner at 10:00 in the morning, we placed our order at 19:10 and our meal was not served until 21:20, together with 2 other tables (also 2 people each) , one who arrived at the restaurant at the same time as us and the other who was already seated and ordered when we sat down.
We were there for three nights and that is a bit long. Hondeklipbaai has little, but the people are friendly. Remember to bring your own towels. The place also needs a little renovation.
Sorry to leave such a negative review: No water for two days, guests are not informed if there is no power, there is no water pressure either! Tent also leaked, we woke up wet. Would definitely recommend anyone to stay there. Was a waste of money that we could have put to much better use. Go eat at Dop en Kreef. Food excellent. Red Spider's food oily and tasteless, very sorry to say.
It was delicious for both me and my husband. I'm someone who likes camping and he doesn't. We both enjoyed the stay, I slept in a tent again and he had the comfort of a double bed. Both a win situation. If you don't like camping or tents, you will love Skulpieskraal for sure. The sleeping place is very comfortable and bug free.
We enjoyed it very much. The accommodation is clean and the tent kitchen very well equipped. The restaurant serves delicious food and the staff is very friendly. We can definitely recommend it.

We had a great stay in our tent and the kitchen has everything you need to cook and all the crockery, glasses and cutlery you can think of needing. Bathrooms were adequate and clean.
The dirt road is a bit hard on the car, but nothing to do with the hospitable reception of the very pleasant owner.

Such a tranquil retreat, between nothing and nowhere. Definitely the place to recharge away from the city rush.
The sleeping facilities are basic but neat and clean. Shared kitchen disappointing seeing fellow guests also used the kitchen and everything very sloppy the place was full of dirty dishes everywhere and then also the place was closed which made our access impossible. Ablution facilities good but again guests' towels and toiletries litter the place. Meals served with taste and value for money. Very hospitable owners and I would be able to recommend the place as the basic rules of cleanliness and consideration for fellow guests presented to all guests upon arrival.
Skulpieskraal's tents are comfortably furnished and the communal kitchen is well equipped. The ablution facilities are basic but clean and tidy and offer a welcome hot shower after a dusty day on the road. The restaurant offers genuine West Coast hospitality and the food is exquisitely prepared.
