It was my dream weekend, everything was perfect from Friday to Sunday, I had a great time.
The host's assistance was great! The place has everything we needed. The beds sleep well, and there's plenty of everything. The upstairs room needs a bigger curtain or blind, as only half of the window is covered and the window gets full sun all day, which means you can't rest there during the day. We had to put a blanket up the next day to cover the space as the room was very hot. WiFi would be nice, I'm even prepared to pay more for the stay. The town is beautiful, peaceful, and a gem.

Innocent was not available for booking arrangements or getting the code for the gate. The power was too little. I already made a request on Friday, and after many calls I only received the owner and Innocent on Saturday. I only received the correct code for the gate on Saturday afternoon. The beds, shower, and rest of the facilities are good. The blanket was full of grass and needed washing.
Had a nice stay. Will definitely go again.

It was enjoyable and nice.
Other than the last minute request to delay our check-in (which resulted in a lower customer service rating), everything else was as expected. Even with her car troubles, Innocent worked exceptionally hard to get the place ready for our arrival. The owner was quick to respond to any questions. There were two slight issues though: 1) the key to the sliding door takes a bit of wangling, but once you figure it out, it's fine, and 2) the curtain on the 1st floor doesn't cover the entire window. Considering the sloping frame, it can't be helped, but it may deter some people who want complete privacy. Overall, it is a very lovely place indeed.
It was very nice, just think the contact person should be more available. There was no WiFi and I had to call to turn on the DStv. Sunday morning at 08:00, DStv was off again. They have to work on it.
Slakkepas is a very cute, neat complex. The communal pool was great and we went swimming a few times. The unit has mostly everything one needs. Something to make loadshedding a little more comfortable would be an asset. A good scrubbing and cleaning and an upgrade of some linens will make the place really shine.
The good. Location. Quiet. Nice breakaway from all the tech and busy lifestyle. Going back to just DSTV was refreshing. The bad. DStv gets put off just after midnight on your last stay. Curtain rail at sliding door is sensitive. Need to be careful when opening and closing. Lack of electricity in meter makes it give a constant beep with no way of putting it off (even after us Googling for 30 min). Dog landmines as climbing out car. Neighbours don't pick up after themselves.
All issues were discussed and brought to the owner's attention.
The house is pet friendly, but the neighbors are constantly complaining, even if it's not your animals making noise. So leave the pets at home to keep the peace.
I'm a bit disappointed. When stepping in, the curtain rail fell off, my husband fixed it. They sent us 20 units of power and said they would send again the next day. 20 units cannot last for a day and night and we then went to buy power ourselves. The key was left under the mat with a message that we just have to turn on the geyser ourselves. Half toilet rolls were left in the bathrooms, not even a full roll and no extras either. Some of the knives and forks in the drawer were still dirty. The broom just broke with the first sweep. We had to check out at 10 o'clock in the morning, the DSTV is switched off at 7 o'clock in the morning. We had a great stay, but it's the little things that make us not go back.
You are very safe and is a peaceful place.

Slakkepas 18 is a cute little place that is ideally located for people who want to get away from the city's noise. The place is just not well equipped. There are breakables that are splintered and maintenance has not been done for a long time. Faucets in the kitchen cannot be turned on properly. It's a shame because the place is quiet and has a lot of potential.

Everything that my family and I like, like quiet and peaceful, safe, and friendly neighbors. Everything was neat and clean. The agency was also very professional and helpful with everything. I was very impressed when I received one last e-mail from Tamsyn saying that I could get in touch until 10 a.m. that evening if I had any problems. That's really good customer service. I have decided to do all my bookings through them from now on. My stay was breathtaking. Everything was neat and clean when we got there. I wished we could have stayed longer.
The place is nice but the neighbors flew in already in the afternoon and accused us of things. Slakkepas 18 is nice, value for money but their neighbors are bad.

From Dwarskersbos you can drive around and visit a multitude of small places. Easy access to the N7 when you're in a hurry. Wide variety of places waiting to be discovered. Lovely, peaceful stay, with friendly people you can just call late at night to add extra power for the prepaid meter.
We had a great time at Slakkepas, the house was very clean and had everything we needed. The pool in the complex is a big bonus, it's also a nice walking distance from the shop. We will only take 2 cans of Doom with us on our next visit for all the flies, it might help if the porch is cleaned with Pine Gel, but we still had a great time. Only recommendation would be to possibly replace the upstairs bed. Very uncomfortable to sleep on. We ended up sleeping downstairs as that bed was more comfy.
The kitchen needs rice strainer. My hubby is an excellent potjiekos maker, and serves it with rice. Other than that, our stay was great.
Very friendly community. Mini market just outside the resort had everything. Swimming pool was amazing. Was just hoping there was more activities.
Unfortunately the place was advertised for an amount and then the owner quoted a different amount. On enquiry, he added R320 for cleaning services. It is not detailed when the place is advertised which gives one a false impression of what the costs are. Nevertheless, we had a nice stay and were well received by Innocence.

A person is very funny, Will always find something to complain about. I feel Dan you should have stayed at your house if you wanted something else. For us as seen with 2 children and for grandma and grandpa together and also our little 4 feet everything was sufficient. Everyone is happy with what was there and wouldn't have changed anything. Accommodation is central and safe in security complex and very quiet. It's also walking distance from the beach and pet friendly.

The kitchen's cold tap does not work at all. We had to draw water from the outside tap for boiler water. Some of the light bulbs did not work. We had to call the contact person, she then came to replace it. The sink in the master bathroom is loose and needs to be held to use. There is also no plug for the sink in the main bathroom. The sofa's mattress from the master bedroom's balcony is done. You feel the springs of the mattress. At the door on the balcony there is no handle on the outside. The outdoor barbecue light is not working, we have replaced it. The flies were a big burden! If we had been informed about this we could have been prepared. There is no coffee, milk or sugar provided, not even for 1 morning. There was no hand sanitizer or soap put out with Covid-19 in mind. We will use Slakkepas again or recommend it if these points are taken care of. We have paid less for places with much more value.
The house is very small, but it was neat. It is ok for family of 4, or maybe for two couples who know each other well.
We were able to get in on Monday but had to wait until Tuesday for a code to get in and out of the security gate. Borrowed a remote from caretaker later. In the evening we had to find that there were no light bulbs in the upstairs bedroom and bathroom - luckily we had a flashlight. Light bulbs were also missing in the downstairs bedroom and kitchen. The cold water tap in the kitchen sink worked once or twice and then no more. No small plates in the kitchen, a mat in front of the beds and in the upstairs bathroom a small drum and toilet paper holder are missing. We called Monday night about the bulbs and had to threaten Tuesday afternoon before someone came to replace bulbs. The tap was still not working on Thursday morning. DStv didn't work, we couldn't watch TV at all and an apology was made for this. It only arrived on Wednesday and we are assured of a credit - when and where does this happen?
A first visit, one that definitely made the best impact to return again soon. Our best compliment definitely goes to Slakkepas 18 for cleanliness, so grateful and truly appreciate it. An all-in-one equipped residence, close to everything and at a very affordable rate. Friendliness of everyone during booking, everyone involved in Slakkepas 18 and that of the community in Dwarskersbos, definitely makes our first booking a hit that will be remembered for a long time. It is a very nice cottage to stay in. The covered braai outside is convenient when it rains. The fridge is big enough for at least 5 days stay. The TV comes in handy to watch your favorite sport. The bottom bed is not very comfortable to sleep on. He had all his days. Otherwise it is very comfortably furnished. Will stay there again and recommend it.
It was very nice. We as a family really enjoyed it. Accommodation is also good. A bigger fridge would be great, as would closing balustrades above, a bit unsafe for children. Dwarskersbos is a fantastic place and Slakkepas is very beautiful!
The first night we didn't have lights because a screw but it was quickly fixed the next morning. The place is very nice and comfortable, affordable, we enjoyed it a lot.
Advised on arrival that air con not working but there is a fan (of no use) - why not during booking as it's clear it's been out of action for a long time. 2 small towels for 3 adults. Upper toilet lacks a door. Fridge can't even take 2 liter soft drink bottle and is very impractical. If you want to stay here you must also love flies.
We had a nice stay there, the fridge is just very small and the rooms a bit impractical. The one double bed is against the wall so if you are elderly you will struggle to sleep two people there. The upstairs bathroom has no door at all. So if it is a small family, this is right place to visit.

Certain things that were not there, as follows: only 2 towels for 5 people, no wine glasses, porridge bowls, saucepans, toilet paper, shower mat and small things like plastic bowls (milk cup for microwave use), salad bowls and salad spoons.
Place was clean. Fridge too small for holiday stay. Bed very uncomfortable. Only one pillow per person. Not enough towels for number of guests. No bathroom mat for shower. No hangers or hooks or hanging space for clothes. Couldn't lock unit. Lock needs to be replaced. Air-con didn't cool properly. Didn't use the stove. No oven. Kitchen furnished with bare minimum. Battled to get key on arrival. Owner forgot about our booking.
