211 guests' feedbackWe loved our short stay, thank you very much. Just only I suggest you let guests know about the bees beforehand. The tent our son and friend stayed in was inundated with bees. The first night they had to come sleep with us in our chalet, the second night they moved back to the tent and the bees were gone, so all good. But your signs on location do indicate hives/bees etc., so for people that are highly allergic, it would be good to know beforehand about the potential exposure in the tents. Not a complaint, just a suggestion. Thank you once again.
The place is made for relaxation and bonding time with family and loved ones.
Clean and tidy. Everything one needs.
We had a wonderful stay!
We had a great time. Checked in for the wedding on Saturday and everything was perfect. Also got a delicious breakfast on Sunday morning.
Loved every minute of it. Slanghoek Resort will definitely be seeing me again.
It was a very nice visit. The chalet was very nice and well equipped. The scenery is breathtaking! We will go again and again!
It had been delicious.
Incorrigible. The area is beautiful, we went hiking, swimming, barbecuing, wine tasting and playing putt putt. The safari tents are the perfect balance between camp and hotel. 10 out of 10.
We had a great stay and the atmosphere was peaceful. Wonderful place.
It was delicious as always.
Fantastic environment, all you could wish for from a camping, value for money and beautiful grounds.
Very neat and clean accommodation and good value for money! The tents are also very well furnished, we had a lovely weekend!
Place was clean. Stormy weather and windy, but we still enjoyed ourselves. Definitely coming back in the summer. When we left, we made our booking already for the end of the year. Staff was very friendly. At the tuck shop, thank you for your assistance and advice regarding the environment.
The house was cold, but the fireplace and the heater made it wonderfully warm. The place needs some attention, especially the bathroom door frames were badly rusted.
A wonderful home away from home and rest in a beautiful environment.
Will definitely come back again! Was lovely. I think it would help if one received the gate code in advance and didn't even have to stop outside to get in the book. Small baby in car made it difficult. Putput track was located in an awesome location, but it was full of leaves and pine needles. Unfortunately, we couldn't actually play well.
Beautiful place. Well-equipped tent.
We found the cottage extremely clean and tidy and well equipped. Unfortunately, as there was a huge storm on Saturday and Sunday, there were a couple of leaks which management immediately brought towels to absorb the water.
We had a lovely stay, it was our first visit to Slanghoek, would like to stay at Slanghoek again.
We recently stayed at Slanghoek Mountain Resort while attending a wedding in the area, and it turned out to be the perfect choice for our two-night getaway. The resort is situated in a stunning location, providing a clean and well-maintained environment that truly enhances the experience. There are numerous activities available on-site, including walking and cycling trails, a fantastic mini-golf course, and a swimming pool. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area and taking advantage of these amenities. Overall, our stay was delightful, and we would highly recommend Slanghoek Mountain Resort to others looking for a relaxing retreat.
Great, although a very rowdy tour group made the check-in experience less pleasant than it could have been.
Beautiful location with scenic surroundings and a great hiking trail on site, but the customer service needs improvement. Unfortunately, we received unhelpful advice about local swimming spots (rock pools/rivers in the area) and dealt with many bed bug bites in the glamping tents.
Delightful safari tent accommodation/"glamping" in beautiful surroundings! Friendly, helpful staff and all facilities were spotless! Tents very well equipped with everything one needs.
There were a few issues, but they were resolved by staff very quickly. Great stay.
It's our third visit, but first stay in one of the safari tents. From the tent's porch we could look out on a natural forest. With the singing of birds and a babbling stream flowing by, the atmosphere was perfect. A short walk from there the Put-Put runs up a hill surrounded by beautiful fynbos and breathtaking views over the valley embraced by mountains as far as the eye can see. The tent was conveniently set up for self-catering. Many thanks to the resort manager for your time and kind help always! We will be back again soon!
Was a very nice weekend Slanghoek's nature was beautiful.
I love Slanghoek Mountain Resort, it is the best.
I was very impressed with the farm effect and location. My wife was very pleased with the "farm house" and the swimming pool which was within walking distance. The silence and total darkness during sleeping time was a big bonus.
Both my husband and I were bitten by a bug, and my leg is very swollen. Please check your beds for any bugs.
Slanghoek has always been a good experience. Everything about the place is nice and you get what you pay for. Just a shame that our shower was pathetic. There was no way we could regulate water. Or ice cold, or blazing hot - even if we follow instructions to the letter. Water pressure is completely gone after first person dump. I would pay more if I could have a better shower. I expect more of a "glamping" experience. This shower was very bad!
Our stay was peaceful and restive. Accommodation was excellent and catered for our holiday needs. All needed utensils/facilities were provided for.
There is no hangers in the cupboards. There is no soap at all - not even to wash your hands. There is no sugar, coffee or milk. There is no generator or any inverter so you sit in the dark!
We enjoyed our stay and experience at the resort. However, tents require some maintenance due to holes in tent. Some of our kitchen appliances had a bad odor like the kettle. Experienced water issues two nights during our stay and the emergency number was not available. But we will definitely be back!
They could improve by getting WiFi and the signal is very bad. Otherwise everything provided for self-catering. Pool was clean and great. We met good friends and had a blast. Will definitely go again.
We enjoyed our stay. Please ensure that facilities are checked as we had no cold water and the emergency contact number sadly was not contactable. With loadshedding the security gate would not open and nobody available to assist. We came from the racing event in Worcester on Saturday night and was left out du eto this major inconvenience. Loadshedding is a reality but you need to ensure your guests are accommodated and not left stranded.
We enjoyed our stay it was lovely and quiet. Our only concern was that there were zips in the tent that could be opened and anyone could have access to the inside of the tent.
It's a pity loadshedding affected my stay, but that's not the resort's fault. If they magically came up with the money for solar systems, it would have made life great! But as I say, that's not the resort's fault. The accommodation was clean and neat and exactly as they said, no tea/coffee/soap in the rooms, but one must cater for one's self properly. The kitchen was well-equipped for the client who brings all food/beverage items.
Beautiful resort. Such a lovely flat with the best views. Can definitely recommend.
The scenery and just the surroundings were priceless. Definitely worth my money.
It was a very nice two days. The tent was clean and has everything you need. Enjoyed it a lot.
Great service, resort is well equipped, tidy and it exceeded our expectations. It's only the shower's water and cold water that didn't work so well.
Child friendly and peaceful.
The atmosphere at Slanghoek is ideal for a breakaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The reception is very friendly and welcoming and I will definitely be back.
Definitely returning, but this time for a week. A week at Slanghoek Mountain Resort is what we need.
We had a great time. Hiking was good, good barbecue, and just peaceful.
We really enjoyed our visit and it was lovely to walk around the area. The fireplace was a winner in the wet, cold, rainy weather. Next time I'll remember that there is a candy store on site and that dish soap, Handy Andy, dishcloths, and grease are provided. There was even a black garbage bag in the bin.
The maintenance of pools was excellent and the hospitality of the cleaners was excellent. The well-well was very disappointing, the ad says it's on the mountain, but it was in the woods and very neglected. The ad also talked about a trampoline for the children but there was no trampoline. A friendly request that the visitors be informed that there is indeed free WiFi on the premises, because the receptionist said nothing.
No complaints. Check-out time is a bit early as we wished to stay a bit longer. Will definitely be back again though. Beautiful place.
Beautiful. Something else.
Fairly quiet and the surroundings are balm for a tired soul.
The indoor barbecue was a winner with the cold and an 8 hour power cut on Sunday. Longer power outages might be better catered for. Gas stove and candles or rechargeable lights. We also had very poor/no signal which cut us off from the outside world. WiFi would be nice.
A few complaints but not an issue was expecting to see a lake view.
This place is more beautiful in person as it is on the pictures.
My sisters and I stayed in the Chalet that sleeps 5, we had a great time. The cottage was very clean and everything you need for a weekend away.
The facilities are great for young children. They were kept busy all the time.
We were welcomed with a nice, home-baked sandwich. The tent we lived in was very neat. We went to play putt-putt, it was dirt cheap, nice and challenging and offered a breathtaking view. I couldn't have asked for a better weekend away. I would definitely stay there again.
Loved it!
The view over the plateau is beautiful and the camp as a whole is very neat and well maintained. Definitely a recommendation in summer when it's a bit warmer, but cold in winter. At least I could turn on the heater and make a fire in the chalet.
It was a fantastic stay. Very well organized, very relaxing and beautiful spot to camp for a weekend or more. I didn't want to leave.
Nice and good for the soul.
Very nice stay. House was very neat and had everything for 2 guests.
Beautiful farm with the most beautiful view and peaceful surroundings.
Enjoy the quiet and tranquility. The views are stunning. Near enough to all amenities if needed.
Slanghoek is located close to Cape Town, with all the extra activities for the whole family. Pitch 9 had sufficient shade and was also a quieter area close enough to walk to the swimming area.
Staff received us very kindly, As far as the eye could see the lush green fields were breathtaking. I would recommend the place to anyone. The chalet had everything one would need. Fresh, home-baked bread was the highlight on arrival and it was very tasty. Putt-putt on the mountain was fantastic and the view indescribable.
My grandchildren could move around freely, it's the first holiday place I was slow to come home, wanted to stay longer.
Warm welcome with delicious bread. Beautiful surroundings. Could have a nice walk in the mountains. Peace of mind!
Slanghoek is beautiful, much more beautiful than the photos on the website!
It was a lovely weekend! The tents are spotless and well prepared with almost everything a person would need for a weekend in one of the tents. There were plenty of clean bedding and extra blankets. There is also more than enough hot water, especially now while it is so cold. There is certainly some forward thinking here. No music is allowed - such a fantastic rule in nature. Just a pity the party in the lapa's music was louder than the birds in the trees above the tent. Other than that, a wonderful experience that we will repeat again in September.
Escape opportunity. Would recommend it.
The chalet was very neat and clean and properly equipped. The only item we feel needs attention is the hot water, especially in the shower. We couldn't get the water temperature regulated at all. It was either boiling hot or too cold to shower properly. Furthermore, we have no complaints.
We had a great time, the rooms were neat and comfortable. The environment was peaceful, beautiful pool and fun activities.
It's a cute place, a bit "rustic". Quiet, peaceful, nice walking paths, fantastic view over the valley up the mountain. The room and bathroom have no table, sofa or a place to pack your necessities. I just used the kitchen chairs.
However, a few windows do not close properly. And check the attic door that it closed properly, cats roam on it at night.
Heater makes sparks. Bunch of leaking spots in bathroom. Shower does not drain.
Upon check-in there is a delicious freshly baked sandwich and the staff is very friendly. Cottage 7 has nice privacy. The kitchen and living area are comfortable with a fireplace for the cold evenings. Plenty of kitchen cupboards and large fridge. However, the bedroom is cramped and there was no space for any suitcase. As a result, we had to place our bags in the living area and walk back and forth between the bag and the room. My suggestion is that the two cupboards in the room be converted into open shelves where a suitcase can be comfortably placed with hanging space at the top. The bedding unfortunately had hair on top and inside and it seemed that the bed had only been neatly made but that it had not been replaced with clean bedding because hair and dirty marks inside the sheets. However, the manager came very quickly to cover the bed with clean sheets. The bathroom has no place to hang towels and there are no heels in the room either! The shower itself is full of mold but the problem can easily be solved with a thorough cleaning. I would suggest inspection before each guest check-in could solve the problem.
Quiet, family friendly.
The pat pat up the mountain is breathtaking and the lookout point an experience.
Very peaceful and safe place to seek rest for your soul.
Very great place for a getaway from your busy life.
Had an amazing stay. Place is lovely. Really quiet and peaceful until a certain family arrived late Friday and made a ton of noise until quite late. The only issue I had with the place was the sleeper couch for the kids was terrible. Hard and not comfortable at all. Everything else was spot on!
This is definitely the place to stay if you want a pleasant glamping experience with family. The tents were clean and everything you'll need is provided for. The staff at the resort is very friendly.
The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. Upon arrival we were late for breakfast, but the friendly staff came to our aid and provided us with a delicious breakfast.
Slanghoek is a perfect place for a getaway. Nature also plays a role. Quiet accommodation, ideal and safe place for children. Customer service was excellent.
I would love to take my whole family next time to visit the chalets that your establishment has to offer within 2020.
We enjoyed our time in this beautiful scenic destination. Just an hour from Cape Town. Everything we needed in our safari tent was available. For the kids there was activities to keep them occupied - swimming pool, bike trails, hiking, etc.
I stayed in the tent with my husband and friends of ours. Very pleasant experience. Everything was nice, clean and neat. The pool was clean and lovely for so little cooling off. In addition, the view is just as beautiful from the vantage point. The nearby wine farms and stables make the experience so much better, so extra points for location.
Beautiful place, if you want peace and quiet and surrounded by nature, this is the place for you!
Will definitely come back again.
I enjoyed the tranquillity.
Our stay at Slanghoek was absolutely fantastic. The resort is nice and clean. It really is a place where you can relax and just be yourself. The customer service from the staff at the resort is absolutely fantastic. The receptionist and the lady who works in the little shop are really fantastic, very helpful and friendly. The home-baked bun you receive is a very nice gesture. We will definitely be regular visitors to the resort. I can really recommend the resort if you want to get away or just have a little rest. The scenery is beautiful and the resort offers something for everyone from young to old.
Only problem was insects and the bed was a bit too soft.
The silence is wonderful and I couldn't ask for a better place to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. Our high point was the putt-putt course with a nice view.
We stayed in safari tent 13 at the resort. Unfortunately we didn’t sleep very well since the floor of the Safari tent (and the beds) sloped downhill to the one side. So everything rolled to the one side of the tent. Secondly the hot water was intermittent. Perhaps a problem with the gas system? The rest of the resort is immaculate and the pools exceptionally blue.
The campsite is nicely demarcated and private. Each pitch has its own boma and bathroom. The pitches are surrounded by vegetation which makes them nice and sheltered. During our stay we experienced a severe storm that blew our tent over and broke its legs. We had to pack up through the evening and after 10:00 pm rang up the receptionist who without hesitation gave us a room. The service from both admin ladies was consistently unbeatable. The hiking trail on site offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and valley. We were very disappointed that our holiday was cut short by the elements of nature. We'll have to redo it!
Sit asb. mikrogolwe in die kamers.
No sofa bed (for children under 12) in chalet as on resort's website under 5 sleeper's description. I specifically asked if they could accommodate our 2 smaller children and the inquiry was accepted. After much explanation, they provided a mattress. The description of chalet is therefore incorrect and should be rewritten. No comfortable seating if one is forced to stay indoors when it rains; hard kitchen chairs only. Leaks in bathroom and bedroom roofs. Ice cold water drips down your back when you have to use the toilet. There were problems with electricity (not load shedding), luckily there were candles provided. Kitchen was well equipped. Even with a black pot. Chalet is very cold, but heaters were provided. For what you get, the accommodation is very expensive. The accommodation should not amount to more than R1000 per night. All the negatives are such a shame because the location is beautiful.
Other than that, we have no complaints and enjoyed our time there.
Well it's great to not have to travel more than 1.30 hours from CPT, especially with kids, that was the 1st plus, especially during the pandemic and when funds are low. Rates are competitive and was on of the largest factors in booking Slanghoek and recommending it to contacts. Loved having a store on the premises to replenish, so convenient. Tents were small but well kept, all furnishings, linen, appliances and kitchen utensils in great working order. Although our fan didn't work, but was no big deal. Pools were clean, well kept and safe, even for little ones and most times we had pool to ourselves, granted we were a family of 14! Loved having additional things to do like put putt and hiking, for older kids and couples. Thank you for making this vacay possible for me and my family. God knows we needed it! Stay safe, until we see you again.
Would recommend to anyone. Quiet, beautiful and comfortable, if there is what you need.
The park for the kids close to the chalets needs attention and the shop does not sell enough necessities. Other than that it was an enjoyable stay. Friendly staff as well. Lovely holiday place.
Campsite was good, clean, facilities well looked after.
Kids enjoyed the stay, we appreciated the quiet atmosphere and the forest camp feeling.
The breakfast was delicious and the accommodation very nice. We stayed in the guest house itself and the kitchen staff were talking and laughing so loudly so early, it was really unpleasant. Could be a bit more professional.
It was noisy in the house, as preparations were being made for a wedding. If we had been informed about this we would probably have looked for alternative accommodation. According to the advertisement, the two rooms in the house are referred to as B&B, but breakfast was not included.
We were so surprised by how beautiful this camping site is. Luscious green grass. Shady, big trees and close to the pools. I would totally recommend this camping site!
LGBTQ friendly, myself and my wife booked the honeymoon room and the manager realised they have a hectic week with activities, she then asked if we would like to have a chalet for no extra cost. That was beyond our expectation and we loved it. Much more privacy and constant follow up. They have such friendly staff working on the resort. Thank you Slanghoek team.
Hi there, we had a great time at the pools and surrounding areas there.
Tent 1 where we stayed, the tarpaulins were not clipped to the floor, so there were many openings and 4 rain spiders in the tent which made you feel uncomfortable.
Very peaceful resort. Very good and friendly service. Well located to explore area. Giant trees all around you are great for the soul. Shop that has all the necessities on site. Will visit there again for sure.
Area is fantastic. People friendly. Tranquillity and beautiful nature. Peacefulness fantastic.
We really enjoyed our stay at Slanghoek. The scenery is breathtaking. The facilities are neat and adequate and the people are very friendly and helpful. We regret that we could not stay there longer and would love to go there again.
The place is neat, cosy and just nice. On our arrival, the geyser was out of order and one of the light bulbs didn't work. As soon as we reported it, the staff came and fix everything for us. It was excellent service. We also enjoyed the walk, although it was almost like mountain climbing, but we loved it. I will definitely go there again. All the staff were friendly and helpful. All we missed was a TV in the tent itself.
Really great little spot! Will definitely be back!
Very friendly reception. The staff are well trained and everything went smoothly - from arrival to departure. It was a great experience and the accommodation is to be recommended.
We enjoyed our 3 night stay a lot. We slept well and cosy. Beautiful scenery. Nice 1 hour hiking route for exercise. We will definitely stay here again next year.
My daughter and I enjoyed our stay very much. Beautiful, tranquil setting. Very neat - really thought of everything. Friendly staff.
Booking in was easy. Facilities are well looked after. Security patrols at night. Generally a good experience.
I would recommend Slanghoek to anyone. It's a fantastic place to go and relax and the food is top notch. The employees are very nice and ready to help you. The people there were all very friendly. The location is perfect. It's a breathtaking environment and the air is fantastic. What an experience
I think for the price paid and the tranquillity of the area, if the tents were pitched a bit further apart that would have been ideal. But the noise of other campers, especially if they are small groups, spoils glamping in a peaceful area.
I will definitely recommend this place for anyone to go to relax and so much activities.
Enjoyed it a lot and will definitely book again.
We would definitely go back! Awesome place for the kids to play and adults to chill.
Very nice stay in the most beautiful valley. Everything you need was there. Nice little clean room.
We were there for only one night to attend a wedding in the area. Was nice, neat, safe and stayed nice, but would have liked to have hand wash at sink or a bar of soap in shower for the price we paid.
Had a great time and stay. Just be prepared for the cold if you go.
Everything was very neat and well taken care of. Spacious and easily accessible.
Very lovely place to stay and camp, however a little expensive for camping. But good facilities and nice to have individual ablutions.
The only worry was, even though one needs to enter with a code, the side gate was open and anyone could enter without knowing the code.
We stayed in one of the Safari tents and it was an awesome experience. The tent had everything you needed to be comfortable. I loved the fact that I didn't have to walk more than 5 steps to get to the loo. The area itself is wonderful, everything is so green and the trees surrounding the tents are so majestic. It certainly makes one forget about a the trials and tribulations of day to day life. We took a hike up the mountain (not for the couch potatoes) and ran into the local troop of baboons. It was an unforgettable experience all in all and we will most certainly 'glamp' there again.
Good value for money. Thank you very much.
The house was very well furnished and clean. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Felt safe all the time and other visitors were not a disturbance although they were hanging out around the fires they were orderly and everything was dead quiet by 11:00 pm. We noticed a break in the cottage (chalet no 5) when we stepped in and reported it when we left and it was very strange that the staff on duty during our departure mentioned that no one had reported it until now. There was a leak in the bathroom (floor was constantly wet) and clip on bathroom window was gone. If I had to be critical I would say that the sofa was very uncomfortable, but apart from the mentioned the chalet was very well furnished and they definitely thought of everything that someone would need over a weekend. I would strongly recommend such a weekend getaway at Slanghoek.
The staff at Slanghoek Mountain Resort were very friendly and helpful. Beautiful setting for a getaway!
Accommodation is neatly equipped. On arrival guests should only be told about the baboons who occupy the tents and open all packages and spill in the tent. Ours and our children's tents were pretty messed up by the baboons. If the management warns the guests to put food away or put it in drawers, there will be less damage. We understand that it is natural, but just warn the guests that it might happen.
Service was excellent. Lovely peaceful atmosphere. Excellent location for a getaway out of the city's noise.
Peaceful accommodation in idyllic surroundings. I slept two nights but the room was not serviced after the first night and although I have no problem making my own bed it is quite a surprise when you return in the evening and it hasn't been done.
Pleasant stay. Tents aren't protected from the baboons.
Awesome experience, beautiful location, friendly and helpful welcome, but had a problem with safety as the resort had no fencing for protection from outsiders as well as wild animals.
Was really nice to stay there for the weekend en the people were very friendly and helpful.
On Arrival, the tent we were promised, #5, was given to someone else, so there seemed to be a bit of confusion off the bat. The place is lovely, no doubt, but maybe a little expensive. Pools are really cold. Plenty of flies, unfortunately. Enjoyed the putt putt and we also managed to fish in the dam by the camping site. A pleasant stay.
Staying at the resort was fantastic. The staff were very friendly. It was my first time and I was very impressed. Intend to book again this year. Will surely recommend the resort to family and friends.
The resort is polite, neat and cute. The little shop is an unexpected gem. However, the distance from Rawsonville should be more clearly indicated.
We were disappointed with the water pressure, battled to get hot water as the pressure was too low to kick in the gas geysers.
There was no space and the furniture look so dirty. The sleeper couch look so old and moldy. You need to put something in place to keep the flies away. Make one of the pools solar heated atleast
We booked the honeymoon suite. It is not recommended at all. It is a room in a house directly next to other rooms. There is nothing that makes this room special/romantic to the other rooms. The woman who showed us to our room was not sure which room was the honeymoon suite. The bed had crumbs/sand and the air conditioning didn't want to go on.
I booked a tent for my family. I explicitly asked on my booking if there was room for 2 children, 9 and 12 and 2 adults. When we arrived on Monday late afternoon, around 6pm the main entrance was locked and no way to talk to the office from the gate. No intercom. I tried to call but someone came to open the gate and gave me a key and explained where the tent was. The tent was a shock. Part of the entrance roof was torn. There were 2 single beds and a type of sofa bed. Two children aged 9 and 12 would not have been able to sleep on them. There was also no bedding provided for the sofa. I have the got hold of the person who opened the gate and she moved us to a little house where we all had a bed.The idea was to sleep in a tent because it would be something different for the kids. Another shock for me was that there was no tea, coffee, sugar or anything like that. There is a shop on site but apparently the business hours are 8 to 5. So nothing can be bought after 5 or before 8. Very little information is given to a visitor. Breakfast can be eaten, at a ridiculous R85.00 per head. I also only found this out when I returned the key on Tuesday morning. The cottage that was given to us was poor. The shower head is attached to a piece of pipe that runs diagonally out of the wall, at least there was hot water. The door frames are rusted and the paint is peeling a f. It seems that as little as possible is done when it comes to instant attitude. The price per night is ridiculously expensive for what you get. All the self-catering places where I have stayed in South Africa always had sugar, coffee, tea, milk and sometimes biscuits. At Slanghoek, it seems as if money is the most important thing and the guests are the very last thing on the list. I would not recommend the place for longer than one night. The bedding etc. was clean and tidy, but that's where it ends. I would recommend that the management of Slanghoek stand back a bit and take a good look at what they are delivering and then decide how they can make the place better.
Had to ask for boiler and remote to be able to turn on aircon. No skylight in bedroom, electrical wires hanging from ceiling. Had a power outage for over 2 hours with no candles, oil lamps or even a flashlight! Owners didn't even come to see if they could help us or if we were helped. Had no power the whole time before we could take a shower! Rooms in house also located right by kitchen which was very noisy. Can't recommend rooms in the house to stay at all.
Want to live there permanently, nature has caressed my soul, I am going to buy a farm.
Slanghoek is located close enough for a short break. The tent house was a first for us and a very good experience - it's like camping but with all the comforts of a cottage. Will definitely do it again.
Easy to book and pay. Service very good and staff friendly and the accommodation clean. Beautiful, tranquil place.
We booked Ouma's house. Everything, from the reception until we left, was a pleasant experience. The house is nice and spacious, and well-equipped. I will recommend the place to anyone. The dog (Stoffel) is very nice.
We had a most restful time will return again.
If a quiet place away from the city is what you crave, stay at Slanghoek Mountain Resort. We will definitely go back!
Loved every moment of it.
Ouma se Huis was wonderful. House was very neat and we had access to everything. The owners were very friendly and nice. Possibly build a swimming pool in the future if possible.
Really relaxed and tranquil environment. Beautiful mountains, nice hiking trails. Highly recommended.
Will definitely go again soon!
A very relaxing stay, even with 3 young kids. Perfect for a family holiday.
I loved the tranquility and quietness, it's clean, people are friendly and helpful, will definitely go back for a longer visit.
We had a very nice relaxed and comfortable stay at Slanghoek, although we arrived late the lady from reception unlocked our tent and put the lights on and gave clear directions as where we were supposed to go and this made our arrival stress free and we felt welcome so big ups to the reception lady!
Nice and peaceful place.
Very peaceful, tents are very neat and have everything you need. The area was definitely what the doctor prescribed!
Our first getaway weekend in years was filled with noise from our neighbors for the weekend. We are ideal guests. I even washed the floor before we went out, but it definitely needs to be stepped up. the rules about noise. The 1 swimming pool was inaccessible due to all the children and the other one were dirty. I refer many clients (brides) and at the time with our wedding made it our venue for preparation, but after the weekend I'm not so sure anymore.
Its the perfect place for adults to relax. Not enough activity for teenagers.
Beautiful surroundings. Variety of accommodation options. Camping, chalets and rooms. Good breakfast in garden or dining room. Self-catering also possible.
Slanghoek is one of the best places my family and I have ever visited. The nature and tranquility were special. There is only one thing you really have to watch out for, there are an awful lot of flies, they bothered us quite a bit. We should have gone to get Doom at the little shop. Our little holiday ended with a visit from a baboon, I laughed so hard. Really very nice place and will definitely visit Slanghoek again anytime.
Nature is amazing.
We booked as a family group of 33 people at Slanghoek. We spent a lovely weekend there in well equipped chalets. The lapa where we could barbecue on Friday night was a pleasant surprise. All the cottages were within walking distance of each other and the resort had a shop where you could get everything you needed. Highly recommended!
Slanghoek is great value for money. Besides the acorns falling from the sky, this facility is a definite must see. I look forward to a lot more visits to this facility. The booking agents handling the reservations also do an outstanding job. Well done. Well maintained.
Its location is perfect and you can visit many places.
We had a pleasant and relaxing stay in the two sleeper tent. The resort is located in a very beautiful and peaceful area. The tent and surrounding was nice and clean and also well equipped! Thanks!
Pleasant and nice stay.
If the wind came up in the evening, it came in through the tent, especially at the toilet side, there are open places that need attention. Otherwise it was also convenient and it only needs a TV.
Campfire! Wind whispering through the oakleaves! Private! We had a wonderful, relaxing time! Only one issue - wondeful hot water but the pressure to weak - unable to open the hot and the cold water simultaneously when you shower.
The house with the indoor barbecue was a surprise and the shop very convenient. The surroundings are beautiful and the hiking and mountain biking route unexpectedly interesting. I was under the impression the environment was flat. So a few extra hanging places in the bathroom would be convenient.
It is an excellent place to break away too. Especially if you want to experience God's wonderful creation.
Reception was friendly. Blyplekkie smelled of smoke, was 46 degrees and no ice tray in fridge, no soap, coffee/tea/sugar and only one hanger in cupboard. After we complained it was fixed. Mobile phone signal very weak, because is located between mountains. Hikers will really enjoy this resort.
I would definitely come again. Very peaceful, refreshing. Shop is not expensive and gift shop has fantastic items.
The staf were so friendly and helpful and the unit was clean, neat and comfortable.
Accommodation is ridiculously expensive for what you get.
People are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was delicious and the shop has all the necessities to meet your needs, except for the high prices, but still worth while.
Great place to stay with family. Lots to do with the kids, especially teenagers. They like to hang out at the pool and the youngest one enjoyed the play park. Love the hiking trail. Only thing that is lacking at Slanghoek now is quad bike rides. Maybe should consider bring in quad bikes especially for teenagers, but we had an awesome stay.
Enjoyable and beautiful setting.
This is a beautiful place and the tent is convenient. However, we had major problems with some other guests who stayed over on Friday and Saturday evening and made a huge noise, used fowl language and went on until 1 o'clock the next morning. We couldn't get any sleep. We phoned security, but there was no answer and no one came to help us get these guests quiet. Wouldn't stay here again unless drastic measures are taken to improve the discipline and the safety on the resort.
Nice little houses very good for a family with young kids. However, management decided not to clean pools once during five day stay (over New Year) and it appeared they were not cleaned for some time. The putt-putt course is brilliant, unfortunately not maintained, so what could have been an attraction, is now just sad. The place is beautiful with majestic oaks providing shade and very pretty vineyards surrounding you. Kids loved it.
Accommodation disappointing. No service. Exorbitant price for what is offered.
It's a nice quiet environment surrounded by high mountains and beautiful fields.
Very nice stay. Nice clean and comfortable units. Would definitely recommend it.
I really enjoyed my stay at Slanghoek Mountain Resort. Although the chalet is quite small, it is equipped with absolutely everything (except a hair dryer). We loved the large indoor braai (we went there in the middle of winter) and we spent much of our time there on the awesome playground right in front of the chalet. The walk up into the mountains was so beautiful, and we enjoyed a visit from a whole troop of baboons who came to eat the acorns lying around. The put-put course is a bit wonky but very creatively designed and we had lots of fun with our 5-year-old. The resort is just 5 km away from the Goudini Spa and there are quite a few wine estates around as well, so there really is something to do all the time. Loved it, definitely going back!
Enjoyed the stay very much except for the noise and loudness of the other guests whom did not stay within the rules regarding quit time after 11pm and no music... And no action was taken against these guest as stipulated in the rules.
Good service. Good neat accommodation. Just dissapointed in not being warned about baboons on the putput range. Great and enjoyed our stay.
It was an absolute experience to spend the weekend there. It's a breathtakingly beautiful place, even more beautiful than how it is advertised on the internet. It's the ideal place to recharge. I would definitely recommend it and would even say it's a must for any family to just spend time together in nature.
The booking through LekkeSlaap went very well and Zenobia was excellent as a contact person. Rochelle at the resort was also very quick with responses beforehand. It made us look forward to the weekend with great anticipation. However, for a 3-star unit, the accommodation was very disappointing. There was load shedding on the first night and it was unpleasant seeing that the unit didn't even have a candle in it! There is a TV in the room, but reception is so poor that it would be better if it were said there is no TV. What is promised must be delivered. The shower had boiling water for 30 seconds and then it was followed by ice cold water for a minute, not nice at all for an ice cold weekend. The one wall plug in the kitchen didn't work, so making toast and coffee at the same time was impossible. The indoor braai pushes all the smoke into the house, instead of it being drawn out through the chimney, so it is impossible to braai. The icing on the cake was the roof in the bedroom which leaked in two places right next to the bed. We checked out on Sunday instead of Monday and when my husband mentioned at reception why we were leaving early, the only response was: "Shame". No refund of our money, or attempts made to sort it out. Poor service. We expected "basic" accommodation, not "poor". I just want to mention that my husband and I have spent weekends in places without power, TV, etc. but then you knew beforehand what to expect.
The chalets need some renovation work to meet the necessary requirements in the winter months. It is a beautiful resort but the power etc. in the chalets will need to be upgraded to cater for the cold winter months. The roof that leaked a lot in the bathroom can be a problem in summer and winter when it rains. For the rates, one would expect that the chalets would not have so many problems. It was good and bad. It was very cold and the chalets are equipped with heaters but after the power kept kicking out at our unit, it was determined that the power supply to the units was not enough to handle two heaters. We had to take turns for who could use the heater in rooms. Our chalet's roof also leaked into the one bathroom when it rained, and it rained a lot, so we could only use one bathroom for half the weekend.
The shower is a big deal. Virtually no water, can't really take a shower, there are only 2 jets of water. The service not very good with breakfast. Waited probably 20 minutes before someone came to the table, and that's after I got up and asked for coffee. Walk past you. The food is indeed delicious. The staff make a lot of noise when they come in on Sunday morning, pans and pots fall and you hear every word they say.
The environment is peaceful and very quiet. We could rest and relax wonderfully.
I think because it was over Christmas, we were left very much to our own devices. The presence of management was not there. Thank goodness we took our braai gear, even though we were in the honeymoon suite, otherwise we would have starved! However beautiful scenery and if you're an outdoors person, there is a wonderful hike to the waterfall.
Will def. recommended for families with children. It's peaceful and quiet and a nice play area and swimming pools for the children. Slanghoek does not interfere with their guests at all. It is quite peaceful and relaxing.
A very nice area with friendly reception.
It can make a difference to expectations. Staff were focused on their own planning.
We loved it. Three days was just enough to tease the senses! The natural beauty of the winelands was just awesome.
If you need a break away from the city, but close enough to drive there in less than 60 minutes, Slanghoek Mountain Reserve is the place to go. Chalets are clean and neat. Swimming pools well maintained. Staff very friendly. I will definitely visit Slanghoek again.
Very nice place to come for a quick weekend breakaway
