This is the perfect overnight stay opposite the Wildlife Park. The gatekeeper deserves stars! So friendly and helpful! Recommendation if you book a family room with 4 people, is that 4 towels are provided. That's really all that's needed!

The accommodation is very neat and to be recommended. This is a good location for a 'sleep over' before you have to enter the game park, especially if accommodation in the game park is a problem. Many thanks to the staff who put in an extra effort with a camera that was left there.
The stay was fine. They will need to work on their restaurant, as we were hungry after a long day of driving and the restaurant was out of stock for most of their items. A recommendation for StayOver: Possibly consider havig some washing machines/laundry service. Their location is very far from any (safe) location to do laundry and we would have loved to have the opportunity to wash some clothes as we have been traveling for a while. We had to drive all the way to Hazyview to find a laundrette.

It was fine for an overnight stop but there was nothing to do once we had checked in, so it was an early night for us! The room was clean and basic and suited us as a one-night stop as we travelled through the Kruger National Park.

It was a surprising and pleasant experience. We really enjoyed it.
They call us to find out how far along we are. They kindly received us after 21:00. We had tire problems on the way and they let us stay longer the next morning (until 12:30) to solve our tire problems first.
Good location and 2 minutes from the first Wildtuin gate. Clean and tidy and a restaurant with good meals.
We were pleasantly surprised by how amazing the facilities were. One can see that nowhere is the "cheaper" option taken. Everything is top class and we slept very well!

The unit is small, but very well furnished with everything but cooking facilities (kettle only and outdoor free braai on request), but there is a cafeteria with a reasonable selection. Service was prompt and friendly. It would help if the family unit could be equipped with 4 of everything such as cups, glasses and towels.

Clean, tidy and comfortable overnight facilities near Orpen gate. Good alternative to visiting the wildlife park as day visitors, but become a "Wild Card Member" to reduce entrance fees at the gate.
Staff are very friendly and helpful. Nice food just be patient because they make all order fresh. Rooms are very neat with everything you need. If you are going to barbecue, bring your own cutlery etc. Lovely surroundings and literally 10 minutes' drive from Orpen gate. We are definitely going to stay there again just longer than the 2 nights we were there.
SleepOver Orpen Gate is definitely a great overnight destination if you are visiting the game park. I even said I would stay there just to rest for a vacation. Great!

Excellent, friendly, professional staff. Parking areas especially for rooms 17 and 18 could be more clearly marked.
Unfortunately, our room's shower and basin did not drain (blocked). We reported it at reception and after a while, the lady brought a service key and told us that we should move to the room next to us. We had already unpacked, so decided to stay where we were (room 23), but that we would use the next-door room's basin and shower. Unfortunately, that was blocked too, so we went to room 26 to shave and shower.
The kettle was not working and there was no hot water! We had cold showers.

Accommodation was clean and staff were friendly. However, think that other places offer more than them for the same price or cheaper.
Unfortunately, there are no self-catering facilities, apart from barbecue grills. The shop doesn't really have meals and no breakfast as such. There are also no restaurants really close by. In that respect, it is not very convenient to stay there.
Would recommend people to spend the night there on the way to the game park.

We booked a family room, but only to find it's 1 room with side pedal beds, so we had to sleep with a 14-year child, whereas on the advert 2 bedrooms were being advertised.
Just feedback from one of the guests. 1. It was not mentioned that there was no soap, etc. in the bathroom is not. 2. Towels do not smell pleasant, they are musty. 3. Look at your road directions, it says from when you leave the airport, which airport?. 4. Also mention that any purchases can be made in which town. Acornhoek is 30 kilometers from the overnight facilities, but it is a rural area where roads are impassable, goats walk on the almost tar and almost dirt road. 5. There were many bags of sugar, no coffee or milk, no teaspoon just a stick to stir. 6. The kettle continues to boil, does not turn itself off. 7. Shower and sink water does not get hot.
What a wonderful experience, less than 4km from Orpen gate and ideal for an overnight stay to enter the wildlife park early. The security guard at the gate and the reception were so friendly and helpful. The rooms are so clean and practical! I will definitely stay there again!

My husband and I booked in for 2 nights. Everything was perfect. Neat and tidy. The staff are amazing. I must commend the receptionist Fiona. She made sure everything we needed on the first night we arrived was done. From the security to the staff everyone was absolutely friendly. The kitchen staff are very good. The food was delicious. Definitely value for money. Highly recommended.

The units are basic, but beautiful and perfectly adequate for an overnight stay. We stayed there for 3 nights during our wildlife park holiday and would definitely recommend it.
On arrival (not until 8 PM) we were met at reception by a friendly and professional person. The units are very neat and clean and offer everything as advertised (even free Wi-Fi in the rooms). If you want to "self cater" there, you must take a picnic basket with you because there are no cutlery etc. in the unit is not. We just took a small braai with us, but there are braaiers available on request. I believe we will stay there again soon. It is only a 5-minute drive from the Orpen entrance gate. Everything you read about the place is true. We love the whole idea of the setup of the place. Will stay there again for sure. I thought "Yes no, today I pay thousands of rands again just for one night." Not at all. For the convenience of the rooms it is more than the value.

Room needs a chair for the shelf in front of the mirror. Worktop is not usable without a chair. Room lacks a suitcase rack or small table to put a suitcase on as well as a bedside table. We brought in the table and chairs from the porch to make the room more livable. It worked well. No TV. We didn't miss it, but it is essential in today's time! Guests must be warned or informed about the shooting on the property next door. Being woken up in the late night and/or early morning by a hellish gunshot can upset people.

Was able to get a braai and cutlery at the restaurant. Would it be convenient to have a cabinet in the room or on the porch - perhaps a box on wheels with the necessary braai facilities? How about some hangers in the open, small hanging closet. We were literally only there for 1 night and felt safe.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The unit was clean, beds were very comfortable with decent bedding. We stayed in the family room with 2 children and there was still plenty of room in the unit with the two beds pulled out. The generator starts immediately if there is a power failure. The WiFi works. The security guard is very friendly and concerned about the guests. Orpen gate is 5min away.

Just a pity the restaurant was not operational yet. So we were not prepared for the circumstances! We were in a family room with 1 grandchild, but only 2 people are provided with the pillows, mugs and towels, whereas the unit is suitable for 4.
It is definitely sleep ond go, it works its clean its well designed. Being on route to Orpen KNP the ideal for early entrance to Kruger. There is no nowhere to buy food coffee or other amenities. Have to take everything along.
The rooms are as advertised and were clean and are well located for day trips to Wildlife Park.
This is our second time staying here. It is clean and the beds sleep well. We stayed in no 10, although it is clean the air conditioning drips water that runs over the door onto the carpet. The door has now puffed out so much that it no longer closes. The shower is also very nice.
The accommodation is neat, clean, the bed sleeps well and the shower works well. The place is just not very soundproof. Would definitely recommend it as a place to stay.

Friendly staff, the kitchen delays slightly when there are many guests, but generally good, food is excellent and not too pricy.
Everything was clean. The receptionist was not very friendly. The cafeteria was poorly stocked.
First, when we called Orpen the operator said that all units are full, but when we booked on the net there was still place. When we got there 90% off all the room was open, I think thats bad for business.
They should give a "breakfast" option as well. Restaurants are far.
