The camp is situated in one hectare of fenced mature lawned gardens and consists of five traditionally built stone and thatch chalets. The camp comfortably sleeps twenty five people and extra beds can be arranged if required. Three of the chalets are twin/double, one sleeps three people with the fifth being a six bed family chalet. All have private/en-suite shower rooms and the kitchens are equipped with all self-catering facilities.
Fresh bedding and towels are provided for every guest and the chalets are cleaned daily.
Two lapa’s adjoin the chalets, both have tables and chairs and built-in braai fires, they are cleaned daily and the firewood is restocked
Slievyre extends to approx 2 000ha (5000 acres) and is classified as bushveld. Whilst out walking or driving on the farm, animals you will encounter include Giraffe, Kudu, Waterbuck, Zebra, Eland, Wildebeest & numerous smaller antelope. The farm is also home to more than 200 species of birds.
Guests are welcome to fish free of charge, just bring your tackle! All residential guests are welcome to join us for a game drive or sundowner. Other activities that can be undertaken are mountain biking,walks,birdwatching and bring your own quad and enjoy the ride.

74 guests' feedbackOur host was very helpful. Between load shedding and Eskom transformer breakdowns, we had little inconvenience. Loads of firewood for inside hearth and outside braai, magneto light, fridge, gas stove, and lovely pool looking over grass and bushveld with ostrich, kudu, nyala, blesbok, and zebra. Beautifully appointed 3-bedroom cottage. Will definitely come again with friends and relatives. Easy drive to Weenen Nature Reserve and Berg resorts. Thanks Slievyre.

Beautiful farm with exceptional reception.
It's peaceful, serene and you wake up to wildlife almost at your doorstep. The game drive was on par, with loads of animals, and the guide was very informative. I crossed paths with some animals while doing my morning run. I will definitely go back.
It was one of the most beautiful and peaceful stays. This is the first time we didn't want to leave the farm.
Because of hunting season we didn't see much game, animals very scared and cautious. Did see a spectacle of giraffes. All in all a peaceful stop-come place after a hectic life at work and home. Thank you for you!

Enjoyed our overnight stay. It was peaceful, clean, and comfortable. On our way out, we came across many giraffes! (Sign posts need attention).
We arrived in pouring rain but everything was wonderfully clean and tidy. The cottages are spacious and private and away from other visitors. Beautiful, peaceful stay.
We stopped at Slievyre with our 2 dogs, they loved the big green lawn and other dogs. The unit was very tidy with everything one would need, even the load shedding schedule was ready on the table. The hostess was very friendly and helpful. The surroundings are beautiful and the wildlife comes to graze in front of the fence with the stoep and braai giving you the perfect view of it! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a pet friendly stop on their way to the coast!
Upon my arrival Alaina (not sure of spelling) gave me a warm welcome, she went out of her way to make my stay pleasant. She and Sarah even went shopping for me! Sliefyre is definitely lafenis for the weary soul. The food was delicious, hospitality great and I'll see you again soon! Thank you very much for a wonderful few days.

Very nice, clean and tidy. Great relaxing in the pool. Nice to sit on the porch and watch the animals, zebras, blesbucks, blue wildebeest, ostriches. The game drive early in the morning was fantastic. So many animals seen, 17 giraffes in total. And many more. Absolutely worth it and would recommend it to anyone.

My wife and I and our two animal children thoroughly enjoyed our weekend getaway, we are nature lovers and 4X4 enthusiasts, and that's exactly what we got. The game drives we drove in our own 4X4 vehicle were in excellent condition to do it alone where you don't have to worry about doing it alone, yet challenging enough to really enjoy it. And at the same time we saw a great variation of wildlife, and a lot, all the time. I would highly recommend Slievyre.

Slievyre Game Farm, is a nice place to spend the night. A big bonus was the play area with a climbing frame and trampoline, the big, open spaces were a hit with my 3 year old. The chalets are very well equipped, the lapa with the built-in braai is great, especially when it rains. I would stay there again anytime. Well done Slievyre Game Farm.
On arrival, we, and our two dog children, were welcomed very kindly. We spent the night in the Blesbok Chalet. Chalet was very tidy with clean towels and even welcome chocolate. Kitchen well equipped with the essentials. Beautiful nature view from stoepie. We would definitely like to stay again.

Fantastic accommodation, lots of game that comes to graze right next to the fence and the game drive that is provided if you stay 2 or more nights was excellent! There is plenty to do if you like the outdoors, including a hiking trail, mountain biking and fishing. Seeing the herd of giraffes on our bike ride was a huge bonus.
The place was neat and tidy when we arrived. Clean bedding and towels ready to be used. Sarah was very welcoming and always willing to assist when she could. The game drive offered was worth it for all of us, with very informative details of the wildlife on the farm from our driver. We managed to see enough animals, so it is a must-do when you visit for more than one night. The kitchen and cooking area in the chalet we stayed in was separated from the bedrooms as well as the bathrooms which didn't bother us as there was enough lighting during the evening. The whole setup does give one a feeling that you are at home, but yet in the bush, which was a bonus for us. A future visit is most definitely on the cards from us all.
We had such a great time relaxing at Slievyre. Kudu chalet was perfect. Outdoor apartment with everything you need.

Every moment was pleasant. The game drive was relaxing and educational. The accommodations are very well equipped. The only thing that was uncertain was the service of the place of residence - should it be open or closed when leaving the premises, among other things.
We had a lovely time. The farm is well looked after and maintained. Was awesome seeing so many animals. Was a great break.
Sarah met us upon our arrival, welcomed us kindly and immediately made us feel at home. The chalet was neat, clean and well equipped. The antelopes and partridges grazed on the other side of the fence, in front of the chalet. Very nice to see a very large variety of wildlife. (Ibex, nyalas, kudu, reedbuck, blesbucks, zebras, blue wildebeest, giraffes and guinea fowl). Thank you very much for a very pleasant time.

I chose Slievyre Game Farm to get some peace and quiet. All day long wild animals walk right by the fence in front of the chalet. The birdlife was amazing. The game drive was such a great experience, in full 4x4. Up hills and down in the valleys. The game was plentiful and the host was so informative. I honestly wish I had stayed much longer. The photo opportunities were endless! My grateful thanks and best wishes accompany the special people running the farm.

We were warmly received by Sarah who immediately made us feel at home. Chalet is big and neat and clean. Lovely large kitchen area under the lapa next to the chalet for private use. Large fridge and large freezer and built-in braai. More than enough parking, especially for our forest van. Pool to cool off in. We only stayed overnight at Slievyre Game Farm and did not avail of any other activities available. We enjoyed it very much!

We were received very hospitably. Our stay was lovely, quiet and peaceful. It was lovely to enjoy the birds and watch the animals with their young from the veranda. There is a lot of space between the houses with enough room for children (and adults!) to run around and play. The walk in the field was very nice. The cottage we stayed in was comfortable and everything we needed was there. Thank you very much Sarah!
The natural beauty is incredible. Accommodation was neat and the staff looked after us very well. Clean room and safe place to sleep. Good location for a holiday overnight place. The silence and the natural beauty allows you a good rest. The game drive was also very pleasant.

Browsed LekkeSlaap looking for a quiet and peaceful getaway. Slievyre exceeded my expectations. The surroundings are beautiful, it's dead quiet there and all you hear are nature's sounds. I was able to rest wonderfully and the service from Sarah and her team is excellent without being a nuisance. I would happily recommend it and would love to go there again.

We had a very pleasant stay at Slievyre Game Farm. Our host Sarah Harding was hospitable and eager to please us. the facilities were vey comfortable, neat and adequate. What amazed me was the peace and tranquillity. Great place to de-stress and relax. We took a game drive at sunset and we were wowed with the animals we could see and the sunset. We went in January and the farm was a beautiful and green. Great place for children too, with so much space, they will have a ball.

What a beautiful and peaceful place this is. When we arrived on Friday, as we drove through the gates, Kudus were waiting to greet us!! The owners are extremely kind. The biggest attraction would be the quiet! The only sounds you will hear would be either animal or birds. We were taken on a Game drive and they went to so much effort to ensure that we saw all the animals. It is really recommended and we will return in the summer time to make use of that swimming pool!
We had a wonderful stay with our children & grandchildren. Sarah was very helpful & prepared us a nice meal for Sunday which all of us appreciated. The farm is beautiful and the accommodation is tops. On the 1st night of our stay, the geysers have not been switched on, but after enquiring about it, it was sorted out for us immediately.
The place is very nice I would definitely go back again, we had the whole chalet to ourselves and it was nice and private, which I really liked. The only problem I had was that we couldn't go on a game drive (but that was due to the weather), so all in all we had a wonderful stay.
