Comfortable accommodation in this historic farmhouse situated in a very peaceful location a few kilometres outside of Volksrust. It was perfect for our one-night stopover on our journey from KZN to Kruger Park.
We were very impressed with the filter coffee in the room it was a great treat, the bed was just very soft and uncomfortable. Incredibly friendly people and cute clean neat place. Will definitely stay there again.

Smalkloof is a beautiful farmhouse. We were very kindly received by Morne and Ronald's food was out of a book. Our room was tasteful and very clean. I would recommend Smalkloof to anyone.
We really enjoyed our stay at Smalkloof - the room was well equipped, very clean and tidy and the reception and food of good quality. We were surprised to be able to enjoy both DStv and WiFi. If we are ever in that area again, we will definitely use Smalkloof again.

We were received in a friendly and professional manner. The rooms are neat and well equipped. Rodney's meals were tasty. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful, and Morné even took us on a game drive!

I keep a list of "visit again" guesthouses that were particularly pleasant to stay at. The lovely, peaceful area and neatness of the property were only some of the highlights. The rooms are quaint, spotless and contained everything we needed. On top of that Ronald is an excellent chef and we had a feast at dinner and breakfast. We had a hard time leaving as we really wanted to stay longer!
