Alicia is very friendly. The cottage was beautiful, clean, hot water available, firewood plus teabags, even eggs for breakfast. It's also a very safe place to stay.
Smarag is well located from the main route. You feel part of nature as soon as you arrive. Smarag was clean and tidy with more amenities than expected. The hostess was friendly and was ready to go the extra mile if needed. I would definitely recommend Smarag for an overnight stop, but also for a longer stay. Thank you Alicia for sharing your farm with us.

Smarag Cottage is a hidden gem, with great value for money, wonderful views, and stunning location. Wonderful host and the cottage has everything and more than what is needed, we had such a nice time and will definitely stay there again!
Smarag Cottage is excellently furnished and was painstakingly tidy upon our arrival. We had everything we needed. The view is picturesque and the beautiful garden only adds to the peaceful atmosphere.

Lovely little cottage on a working farm with a beautiful garden which is enclosed. Perfect for small children. Stunning view of the mountains. Clean and comfortable stay. Everything you need. Loved it. Alicia gave me a warm welcome and made my stay an absolute pleasure.
We were left completely alone in a site freely accessible from the main road. The gas lighter was empty and we were forced to drive 9 km to Swellendam to buy matches.
A beautiful cottage, excellently equipped, spotless and tidy, and with the most beautiful views over the mountains. Alicia went out of her way to accommodate me and make me feel welcome.
We were spoiled with a delicious freshly baked bun on arrival. Hospitality and friendliness were outstanding. Would love to use Samrag's accommodation again in the future.
Quiet farm atmosphere and yet close enough to town. Everything we needed was there. Will definitely go back again. Nice homemade bread and honey - also made by ourselves, was waiting for us and we ate the last crumb too. Also nice biscuits. Thank you, you made our vacation.

What a nice weekend getaway in a beautiful cottage and surroundings. The house is perfectly furnished, neat and clean and the garden is charming. The view over the orange groves is breathtaking and the tranquility is like balm for the soul. It feels like home away from home and Elri Swart made the process so easy with easy directions and regular follow up. This is now one place I will visit again and again! Definitely worth it!
It is a very nice place and the people are professional and good people and I would recommend it anytime.
Directions at turn-in gate unclear: no name. Kitchen very well equipped. Bathroom-toilet lacks a door. Bedroom small but sufficient for one night. Porch lacks attention: wall's plaster is falling off, one old wooden stool with only three whole legs, old piece of discarded carpet. Odor of drain bothersome.
