We can accommodate two in the main bedroom on twin beds and there is a very comfortable double sleeper couch in the open plan lounge. Bed linen and towels (except for beach towels) are provided, and there is TV, DSTV and heaters for cooler winter months in the bedroom and lounge. There is a shower, basin and toilet in the bathroom, with complimentary toiletries.
The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, fridge and microwave, hospitality tray, as well as all other necessary kitchen equipment, and there is a patio and barbecue area. Drying cloths and dishwasher are also supplied.
The cottage has its own entrance and there is plenty of parking.
Children are welcome, and small dogs too, but only by prior arrangement.
Close to four golf courses and lovely walking trails, and the beautiful Fernkloof Nature Reserve, as well as many up-market wine estates in the nearby Hemel-en-Aarde Valley.
Whale watching from the Cliff Path is something very special from August to December, and shark cage diving is within easy reach.

I had a marvelous time. As a young woman travelling alone I felt completely safe and comfortable. The location is perfect if you're looking for a quiet and peaceful area that is still close to everything. All the little extras - rusks, milk in the fridge, a chocolate on the pillow and even some hot water so I could make coffee during loadshedding - was greatly appreciated and made me feel very welcome. I had a perfect stay here.

Only disadvantage was lack of DStv which should not be viewed as a luxury anymore. Especially when looking at hte monthly turn-over, the cost for a DStv extension to the unit is not that much.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Snails's End Cottage in October 2015. It was just the most wonderful stay. Als was very clean and tidy... there was a bottle of water on each bedside table with tissues and chocolate on each pillow, the bathroom had hand soap and had hand cream. Coffee, tea and biscuits in the kitchen. We felt very welcome and comfortable after our long trip from Pretoria. The owners were very friendly and hospitable. We will definitely recommend it again and again. Thanks again Penny for a nice stay.

Perfect setting, literally a whisker away from Hermanus. Absolutely awesome place of residence, would most definitely want to come back. Such lovely owners.
I would recommend Snail's End anytime to people who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and just go and relax. It's a beautiful place, private, clean, tidy and with everything you need! Moreover, it is located in a quiet street, walking distance from the sea! If you want to go to the shops, Hermanus is only 5 minutes away. My Aunt and I were there for a weekend and were really surprised by everything that the place offers - you even get coffee, tea, biscuits, milk in the fridge, chocolate on your pillow, a pack of tissues on each bedside table, as well as ' a bottle of water with a glass. The bedding and towels are nice and clean and everything in the place is in good working order! Definitely good value for money! Many thanks to Penny and Wim for the lovely weekend we spent there! We will definitely come back again!
We were impressed with the cleanliness of the unit. The owners make a special effort, with small details, such as a small surprise on each pillow, water and tissues on the bedside tables, milk in the fridge and biscuits with the coffee/tea. Heaters already switched on and new fresh and enough towels. The unit is really well equipped and you will be able to spend the night and even stay for a longer time, it's just up the street from the sea in a peaceful and quiet environment. We will definitely come back to this.

Will return to Snail's End Cottage again. It's quiet and safe, perfect for relaxation and getaways, walking distance from the beach. The place is properly equipped with all basic necessities. You don't need to take anything with you except food. Would like to stay longer than two days next time to be able to read the interesting books in the "Toilet Library". A fireplace in the cottage would be the perfect "final touch" for winter months and perhaps a separate braai area where you can't bother the owners. Thank you Penny and Wim, your place is truly something special.
