All you need, complemented by warm hospitality. Definitely the place to stay for flower viewing in Namaqualand.
Great facilities and nicely kitted out kitchen and braai area. Plus the flowers around Soebatsfontein Guest Lodge were gorgeous.
This special place really shouldn't be compared to other places. It was like going home to old friends. Silver clean, cutely furnished, nicely centrally located and the communal braai in the evening was a highlight. We felt very welcome and really enjoyed our stay.

We were kindly received. Have a nice time. Everything was well appointed. Linda and Raymond made a delicious fire on which the guests could barbecue together or if you want to barbecue alone, you can barbecue in front of your place.
Basic venue with a very friendly host. They do everything to make it comfortable.
The initial frustration with the communication was not so nice. Was surprised with the whole setup and kitchen facilities. Much better than the photos on the page show. Have a good time in the evening. We booked for 2 nights but could only stay one night. Underestimated distance. The beds were clean and comfortable. We would consider the place again should we go in the direction. Directions were good.

The rooms are very basic and small, but this did not cause any inconvenience. It felt remote but at the crossroads to many interesting places inland and on the coast. Interesting conversion of a Dutch Reformed church campus. The tiny rooms looking into the garden are pleasant. We were 2 senior couples, all introverts. Despite that, had a great time with other guests and made new friends. Will check in there again for next tour! You also have the option to grill privately!
The place is a pure 4x4 or camping adventurer's dream stopover. Everything basically is there. Very nice place if a group arrives there for the night, because owners cultivate a gathering around the table and braai. Communal kitchen and braai with owners and everyone staying overnight at Soebatsfontein Guest Lodge. Each overnight unit is only suitable for 2 persons with a bathroom. Thank you to the owners for being able to plan quickly upon arrival, and to be able to arrange a door for the bathroom. Only the front units have their own grills, but the rear units share a boma grill collectively. Rooms are facing each other so are not very soundproof, so if you listen very carefully you will hear your neighbor snoring if he is a very loud snorer. Makes me think back and long for our school days camping adventures. The very best was being unavailable from cell phone and signal, because could properly cut off and rest without any technology around. Perfect for me, because I could look at the beautiful stars and enjoy nature and silence, every minute.
Sorry about very small rooms and poor design. Hear all unpleasant personal noises from rooms next door and behind. Communal kitchen is not our choice, especially not with Covid-19.
Linda and Ray are very friendly hosts and really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Had some enjoyable talks and were given good advice on the surrounding areas. Also enjoyed the interaction with the other residents. one always learns something from how other people travel.

Rooms are very small, bed with bedside lights no place for a chair. Small bathroom with no door no privacy. Advertised as a guest suite! One is deceived by description. No soap. Cold! Price is more than expected for such basic accommodation.
The facilities were neat, but the rooms are very small. If you have rowdy and noisy neighbors, which was the case in our case, it is very disturbing. Would have liked basic facilities in unit such as a kettle as the communal kitchen is a risk in the Covid times we are in now. Furthermore, there were no basic things like a sink plug and extra toilet paper. During our stay there was a power outage. With the power outage there was no hot water although there are gas heaters for the water - strange. A power generator was switched on, but for very short periods which didn't really help. This was one of the most expensive fees we paid during our visit to the Namaqualand with the fewest facilities.

After the flowery ride, this overnight stay was simply nice and comfortable. Clean, tidy, everything you need and one of the nicest nights sleep ever! Unfortunately or perhaps fortunately, MTN is not available, so no signal.
The special way in which the self-service is offered from a central kitchen and living area is something special and different from the normal self-service places. This means that friends are made with the other visitors and the owners and creates a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. The location means that every day you can go in a different direction to view the beauty of the flowers.
The whole set-up is very cute - there is a cozy atmosphere and the place is ideal if flower-watching is on your to-do list.
This guest house is only open during the flower season. It offers one a place to stay that fits in with the spirit of the landscape: simplicity but not inferior, friendly company with other guests at the braai and communal kitchen (which is particularly well equipped), a night's rest in silence in a small village with friendly and peaceful inhabitants. Here one becomes part of the landscape. And Soebatsfontein is perfectly situated to view the park in all directions. The roads are like the landscape - rough, but vehicles with sufficient ground clearance can handle it. The combination of Soebatsfontein and the Guest Lodge offers a unique accommodation experience for people who do not think that 5-star accommodation is the purpose of a trip.

We did not know what to expect but had a lovely stay at Soebatsfontein. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The road from Kamieskroon is only 50km, but takes long due to gravel mountain passes not always in good condition. You share a communal kitchen, but very clean and well equipped. You have to take everything you need, as there is no shop (incl wood, ice etc.) A big advantage is the back entrance to Skilpad Flower Resort is at their doorstep. A cool place!

Arrived to this hidden gem after a long day of road trip. Met the super friendly owners who explained the setup and showed us to our rooms. Rooms are small but have everything you need, the communal kitchen is neat and organised, the evening for a lack of a better word "kuiering" with the owners was fantastic. We would definitely come back!
Close to national park, beautiful passes and close to sea. Good chance to explore coast from here. Especially McDougalls Bay special. Geology of Concordia/Okiep/Springbok is special. Flowers here more beautiful than south at Clanwilliam. Occurs naturally in hills and rocks that ensure beautiful natural scenes.
The owners arranged meals for us and gave advice on where to see the best flowers. Their knowledge about the condition of the roads was also valuable.
No road signs and google takes you on 4x4 route through park.
Rooms not soundproof; noise from adjacent rooms very disturbing. Neat but too small. Double bed unacceptable, rock hard mattress. Water pump system is noisy and is turned off at 22:00.
The place is clean and well appointed. The owner is very helpful and hospitable. The environment is breathtaking.
Two days weren't enough to explore the area. Relatively short trips to Skilpad, Kamieskroon and surrounds. Lots of different flowers around - once you step out of your vehicle. Roads are good.
Very warm reception by Willie and Annemarie. They made us feel very welcome and we learnt a lot from them about the area and its people.
