The living area is furnished with comfortable seating, a fireplace and a TV. There is another seating area on top of the stairs. The covered patio is furnished with outdoor furniture, a dining table and a built-in braai. Access to Wi-Fi is available.

Wonderful beautiful environment. Beautiful neat house. Large porch and delicious "hot tub" with a view of mountains and river. However, Fish Eagle is the only house that is not under shade trees and with 30 plus degrees we wished we were in one of the other houses under the shade trees. Next time we will bring fans and an umbrella for coolness over the hot tub. But the heat did not spoil the wonderful canoeing, beautiful hiking trails and general bliss of being surrounded by natural beauty. was also super helpful and quick to respond to any questions/requests.

The weekend away was everything we hoped for and more. We were there for my mother's 60th birthday, just us and the family. It felt like we were alone in our own paradise, we had so much privacy and the kids had so much space to play. The house itself is incredibly beautiful and has so much space. Not once did either of us feel like we were in each other's way. The house offers everything one needs. The horses grazing near the house are a sight to behold with the trees and mountain background. The children of course really enjoyed the horses, they are so tame and come right up to the little fence. It was so peaceful and picturesque that we just didn't want to go back home. It was nothing short of perfect.
I met the manager and want to thank her and her husband for their friendliness and hospitality.
We stayed in the Olive house and our hot tub was very close to where the cows graze and drink water. It was beautiful. It was such a lovely weekend breakaway from the busy city. We will definitely visit again, also to do the hiking trails.

Somerset Gift Getaway Farm is located on a beautiful farm. The dirt road was still comfortably passable in terms of the recent heavy rains. The residential units are far enough from each other, so that all the residents can still enjoy their privacy. Children can play carefree in nature. The self-catering units are well equipped with everything one needs for a weekend getaway. Our hostess was extremely helpful and always available via WhatsApp.
There was nobody to greet us on arrival and the whole weekend went pear shape from there with so much going wrong that I don't even know where to begin!

The farm brings tranquility to the soul, silence to the soul and picturesque scenes to the senses. Our little kids really enjoyed it; the walk to the river, the fishing, the play park, lawns, rowing and the 'swim' in the hot tub. The accommodation is comfortable, but not luxurious, however, there is everything needed in the kitchen and house.
Isolated and raw nature within reach of Cape Town. Lots to do for adults and children alike.
Power was down due to Eskom's substation.

We had a wonderful and restful few days enjoying the peace and quiet of the farm. It was great to unplug, slow down and there were a variety of attractions to keep us engaged. Tanya, the manager, was lovely and went above and beyond to make our stay as pleasant as possible.
We appreciate the special attention to all our needs. Tanya (manager) went out of her way to give us the best stay possible.
We haven't rested so well in a long time. The silence and the fresh air were wonderful. It rained quite a bit at night and the days were lovely. Would recommend it to anyone.
We really enjoyed the little plac. The quiet, beautiful nature is surely something to experience. Nice and far away from the noise and rush. Get a nice magazine or book, and a nice cup of coffee, sit on the patio the entire day and enjoy the beautiful area.
Loerie Cottage, cute unit, well equipped. The children really enjoyed the large lawn, however, this unit was close to the dam which could be unsafe for small children. The fireplace was definitely a winner. We will definitely be returning for another holiday.

We really had a great time in the Rose Cottage. Would just like a comfortable easy chair or two in the unit. The two couches/beds are probably enough for most people, but for those of us (older generation) who like to just sit and hang out, it would be desirable to be able to sit in a nice deep chair and read, knit, or whatever. In addition, all the other amenities and utilities were all there and in good working order. The natural beauty and surroundings are definitely a big plus for this destination.
Cannot recommend Somerset Gift Farm enough. The setting is stunning, the accommodation comfortable and the host a true gentleman. We will definitely visit here again!
We stayed at Loerie Guesthouse. They have a wonderful view and a lovely veranda where you can sit and admire it. You do have to park a little way away from the house, which makes it a little difficult if you have difficulty with mobility. It does not change the fact that we had a wonderful night there. The fireplace in the bedroom was a bonus.
The guests must be informed in advance that the water on the farm is acidic/brackish, so that they can bring more freshly filtered water to drink. One 5 liter is not enough. Our friends did not want to use the water. There was no one to welcome us. It wasn't really a problem - we just slept over and it was nice.

Amazing place and stunning location. We would just like to make a cup of coffee/tea. The road is pretty bad and I might mention that on the website. No extra blankets or pillows available. Well wood, lightning and matches for a fire. It is very neat and clean and we would definitely recommend it.
