The owner did not know about our reservation. Luckily I kept my bookings and emails. Owner was friendly and had rooms available for us but not the units that were booked. Many thanks for the owner's help and kindness. Would recommend Sondela.
We were well received and made to feel at home by Sandra. She went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable.
Sandra really put a lot of effort into my accommodation at Sondela. The accommodation is adequate and the people are friendly. Reservations are made at places to eat for the evening. Sondela's owner goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome.
Sondela Guest House is conditionally a pleasant and neat place to stay after a long road or for business in town or nearby. I would definitely recommend Sondela, they are friendly and helpful and willing to open the place until late at night.
Good for an overnight stay, but not a real self-catering unit.
Their biggest unit has 4 beds but we are a family of 5, they gladly accommodated us with an extra mattress. Also happy to accommodate our pets.
The owners are totally uninvolved. I just had to figure out how things worked as I went. Never got the WiFi password in 5 days. On the 2nd morning of my stay I had to bathe in the pool because there was no water! (No jokes.) I got up at 5am because I had early appointments. To my shock, I found that there was no water and no one to inquire with! The (I assume) managers arrived by 06:00 and set up water credit which then provided water. By this time I was already "bathed" in the pool. The room was incredibly hot and the fan in the room was like emptying a 1000 liter drum with a small teaspoon. The list is actually endless. From shower where the water is then hot and then cold to broken window trim, meaning I couldn't open window in incredibly hot room. But in short, if I never get there again, it will be exactly 1000 years too soon. The only bright spot was the willingness of the (I assume she is the on-site managers) to help where she could.
Service upon our late evening arrival was great. Accommodation was clean and tidy, perfect for a quick stopover before we would travel on again. Suggestion for milk instead of powdered milk with coffee and tea in rooms.
Overall, good stay. We were 3 colleagues who stayed there together. My experience was very good, but both my colleagues had to shower in cold water, as there was no hot water. One also complained that it was the most uncomfortable bed he had ever slept on. Small things that need attention, but overall, a satisfactory experience for the price.
Even though there were health reasons the owners were absent. The room was not the one booked, no air conditioning on a very hot day, and still the booked one had the air conditioning broken. There is no way to pay with card because the machine to attach on the smartphone was with the owner, absent.
Okay apartment. In winter only warm water in the evening.
It was very nice. Would definitely recommend it.
Sondela is good for one night stop over, value for money.

The other residents were very busy and made a lot of noise. They only came to rest at 02:00 and at 05:30 they started blowing again. The night for us was therefore very short and for an 8 hour long journey the next day it was not pleasant. I believe and hope that is not the norm.
In the end we didn't even stay and instead gave up our deposit. You have no privacy, there is dog poop everywhere and you can hear the noise from the dance floor in town. Stop by instead.
