I asked that they put flowers, sparkling wine and chocolates in the room for me on arrival, which they gave me a quote for when I booked. On arrival there was not a welcome drink as stated. Also no sparkling wine, flowers or chocolate as I asked. I asked because I wanted to make it special for my wife, but there was nothing. They didn't ask me until later when I wanted the stuff in the room, and also said the flowers at Pick n Pay weren't pretty, so they didn't get flowers. First of all, I don't want Pick n Pay flowers. Second, I would pay for everything I asked for. They did make the room beautiful on Saturday night with only sparkling wine and leaves from the garden. I then asked that they would also provide a bottle of sparkling wine with the breakfast for Sunday morning, which they did not do either. We also ordered cocktails for which we waited over 45 minutes. When the cocktails finally came, they were made with flat soda water. I think it's pathetic of them as it cost R4750.00 for the 2 nights and then this is the service we get. Anything I wanted extra I would have paid extra for without any problem. I will never use them again. Something that was supposed to be special completely screwed them up. What I do have to say is thank you to the chef. The food was very nice.
Excellent service from, among others, David, Thabang and Knowledge. Food was also of the above quality. Rooms very neat and clean. Garden also very neat and private swimming pool only for people staying at Country House.
Great place and great food.
Uan, Jurie and Renier treated us like royalty. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with a big smile! It was an incredible weekend with the young, but professional team!
Internet amount and quote we got differed and was much more expensive than they advertised the rooms! December maybe? We did inform the website about it! There wasn't a small fridge in room for our cold stuff which we missed! Directions to Country House were very bad and we had to drive back to entrance to make sure!
Had a great time. Although the young people who looked after us worked very hard and went out of their way to set the standard as high as possible, I felt that I would have appreciated the supervision of an experienced person, around the young bunch sometimes to direct and lead. A pudding that flopped should never have left the kitchen and the ingredients for a mixed drink had to be available at all times. Guidance for the beautiful young people is needed to make the 4 star experience a true 5 star experience because I am definitely paying a 5 star rate.
