We had a great time at Sonkwassie! The house has everything one needs and more. The house and the sea view are actually much better than the pictures show. The picnic porch is sheltered from the wind, but does not obstruct the view. Definitely value for money!
Very special place and will come again for sure. There is everything in the place, indoor and outdoor barbecue makes it wonderful to be able to barbecue every day of the week. Good value for money and will definitely come again! Dishwasher an added bonus. Thank you, you have crept deep into our hearts.
Lovely little house ideal for 4-person family. The welcome mats inside need to be replaced. Other than that, awesome place, clean and comfortable. Thank you cleaning staff for a job well done.
Accommodation was very nice, clean and tidy.
Was very nice, thank you.
Cute place with good location. Kitchen's indoor grill chimney does not draw well. The whole house was full of smoke every time we lit a fire inside. It was reported but received no feedback.
Cute house. But it's not 50m from the sea as the advertisement suggests, but rather over 100m. The house was not clean. Unhygienic kitchen cloths. Under the carpet was full of garbage. Behind the TV cabinet was dirty. The welcome mat on the inside of the front door was dirty. The area next to the outdoor barbecue was full of dirty spots. Under the footboard in the master bathroom was dirty. It is sad that owners get away with everything and we as visitors are not protected. Ordinary people save for a vacation, then one has to be satisfied with that.
Kitchen utensils, like the bread board need renewing. Area between stove and cupboard/fridge needs good clean. Decorative cushions on beds and couch are stained and moldy. They need thorough washing or renewing.
We had a pleasant stay at the House. Would have appreciated some candles or lamps to use while load shedding. Would also have appreciated more attention to detail when cleaning the place before we arrived. But overall we enjoyed our stay.
Sonkwassie is nice and spacious and cozy with the beauty of the sea's waves and the nature around you. We had such a great time, would go back again anytime.
The sheltered porch with the braai and unobstructed view of the sea was a highlight.
The little house was more than we expected and the view from the house is amazing, which you can actually not see in the photos. The one thing that did bother us was the indoor fireplace which did not seem to draw properly and we kept on having to open the windows to let the smoke out, even though we had dry wood. Not sure if the chimney needs cleaning or not, but this was irritating with the cold weather. Otherwise, we were very happy with the amenities.
Would recommend that they put a gas stove in the house, there are many power cuts and then there is no way to make coffee or food.
Teslyn was up and everything went smoothly. Just waiting for the refund of my deposit, we didn't break or destroy anything. We really enjoyed our stay in Sonkwassie. Everything worked (we didn't watch TV). All I would suggest is tighter curtains in the master bedroom. The street lights are quite troublesome and maybe a nice flat-bottomed iron pot in which you can keep the cooked braai meat warm or even put together a pot. Can nothing be done about the bunch of lobster peddlers? They are indeed troublesome. One even followed my wife up the stairs to the front door and simply wouldn't take no for an answer. At least he took a course when he saw me. These are not complaints, just comments.
Sonkwassie lets you rest very nicely after a busy week, the weather was very nice and not too cold. Will go again for the quiet.
See stars.
We had a lovely time at the cottage and really only wished we could have spent even longer there. There is a beautiful beach and it is a very peaceful neighborhood. The cottage itself has very nice character and is well cared for.
Beautiful house with 2 bedrooms and bathrooms. Nicely clean and a nice surprise with the dishwasher! Nice barbecue patio where the wind doesn't bother you. Near beach.
Nice place with nice campfire facilities.
Very quiet, nice rest.
Location was perfect, could see the sea from the upper terrace in the morning with your first cup of coffee. Only thing was Friday night, the neighbours behind somewhere had terrible music playing from about 10 pm till early hours of morning with people shouting. Not sure if anyone was sent to quiet them, but it wasn't pleasant as we came to rest and enjoy the peaceful surrounding. But happy to say it was peaceful on Saturday evening and the well equipped place made up for the unruly neighbours.
What a wonderful, peaceful cottage with tasteful, country atmosphere. There is something of everything to comfortably break away for a week. Just bring your own dish soap, dish sponge, body soap, shampoo and hair dryer. Short walk to the beach. The dune in front of the house hides the beach when you stand on the front porch, but you do see and hear the sea. House is quite close to the restaurants and 1 cafe shop (delicious surprises for sale here) - good walk for those who want to clap their feet during the day. It's a shame that the old life even on Paternoster asks you to activate the house's alarm when you go out. The days of open doors and windows are sadly over. Your mobile phone, jewelery etc. will definitely get feet.
Very nice place. I was there in December and August.
We had a very nice stay.
Very nice place and close to the sea. Very nice house layout and indoor and outdoor fireplaces to keep the cold away. We had a great time, grilled, ate lobster and mussels. The people selling lobsters were little bothered after we bought. The surrounding parts are just as beautiful. All in all - it had been a very nice weekend.
From our arrival to our departure everything was pleasant. Die receptionists are firendly and helpful. Will definitely visit here again.
It was nice, but a lot of people stopped and bothered us. On the last day while we were packing, someone stoled my fiancee's engagement ring and another ring. Attention must be given to the crime there.
The place is typically West Coast. We really enjoyed staying there. It is very well located and fully equipped. A true West Coast getaway.
We thoroughly enjoyed Paternoster and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the accommodation. It is comfortable and simply equipped, which makes you feel at home immediately. the good sea view is a bonus.
It's a breathtaking place with wonderful scenery. It's a relaxing place for young and old, where you can forget about the city's hustle and bustle. I would like to stay longer than just a weekend, but maybe next year. I would advise any person to experience Paternoster.
