It is fully self catering. You have your own parking on the premises for 1 vehicle only. As well as a lovely under cover braai area. DStv will be provided.
The Classicial room, is about 18m2 in size. It has a queen bed and a full bathroom, with and undercover patio. It has a kitchenette in the corner with a bar fridge and microwave and a wash up bowl. It is fully self catering and secure parking for 1 vehicle.
The Starlight Room, is about 18m2 in size. It has 2 single beds and an on suite-bathroom with shower only. It is semi-self catering with a small kitchenette with a bar fridge and microwave. Secure parking for 1 vehicle only, it has no patio or porch.
The Cosmopolitan consists of a small kitchenette, including a microwave, kettle, bar fridge, utensils, air fryer on request and own bathroom.
The room has a modern finish, with 2 single beds, which we are able to convert to a king-sized bed.
Guests are welcome to contact me for any enquiries. I live on site, which will help both parties if there are any questions. It is a quiet neighbourhood. We are walking distance down to the rocks, +- 1,5 km down. No swimming beach at the rocks, but you will be able to fish. The swimming beach is about 4 km away. We would advise you to hire a car or arrive with your own car.
Gonubie is very easy to get around by car. We have grocery stores, butchers, banks, clothing stores all situated in our little town. Also East London is only a 20 min drive away. For those rainy days, it is great to catch a movie at Hemmingways Mall and do some window shopping. We also have great adventures for the kids to enjoy. These include the Lion Park with is about 20 km out on the Stutt road and just further on you have will find the snake park. We also have game farms around the area, +- 40 km away. Need to book for a game drive. We also have the best farmers market in South Africa known as Lavender Blue - you have to stop there and enjoy one of their famous dark/medium roast flat whites, with a lemon meringue to top it.
We expect our guests to have respect for our neighbours, as well as for us. We don't tolerate any drunkenness on the property or any breakage due to negligence will be the guest responsible to replace.

The South 2 Sea Gonubie was great. The area was lovely and the bed was really comfortable.
The 2-bedroom unit was fully equipped as a self-catering unit and the host was a welcome source of information about local routes in the Eastern Cape - very friendly and helpful. However, parking became tight when guests arrived at other units on site.
Really value for money, neat and clean with WiFi and DSTV available.
Everything was perfect and we had a wonderful evening.
Owner was polite. Owner did upgrade us to the Apartment at no extra cost. We initially booked the classical room. Reason for upgrade unknown. Bedding was perfect 5-star hotel quality! Remainder of apartment was unfortunately dusty, kitchen bin bag not replaced before our check-in. Forgotten food found in freezer and cupboard of an employee. Stove top was dirty and kitchen smelly as someone fried fish there before our stay. Sorry to be honest, but the cleanliness was disappointing.
Please assist with a mop to clean the place, especially the bathroom after a shower.
There was no-one to received me and when I phoned the contact details on my guest certificate, I was told to read my WhatsApp (who read WhatsApp messages while you are driving) So there I was, in the rain trying to decipher all the codes of access doors and gates). Once inside I had to walk through the narrowest passage (between the perimeter and the house) to get to my room. I had to turn sideways to get through. Once in the room I found that the all the utensils are packed inside the clothing cupboard leaving me with no space for my cloths, and the other cupboard can’t open because it is block by the bedside table. The top cupboard was filled with owner stuff (prams & boxes & cleaning utensils) leaving me no space for my suitcases. There were pots and pans but so stove, no place to dish up and yet it is advertised as “Self-catering”. The sheet on the bed had 3 x big holes in it and it is fit to become a rag. The room poses a major safety hazard as there is no escape route in case of a fire as all the other entrances (besides the narrow passage) are locked. It is hard to believe that this place has an occupancy certificate – but I left this for the local municipality to determine.
There was no one to meet us, it was self check-in, we were told that everyone was away for the weekend, no management or person on the property at all. A bit of a problem. The room was very clean, beds very comfortable, we only got one towel each which was a problem, considering we were there for the weekend and especially when I washed my hair. There weren't enough toilet rolls, we got half a toilet roll for the entire weekend, we only got one glass and two cups, no cleaning facilities to wash dishes, the room was not serviced, we were expecting the room to be serviced on the second day, especially given the towel and toilet roll situation. Otherwise, the room was very comfortable, safe and secure parking.

It is a lovely self-catering unit with everything you need. Clean, tidy and close to the sea.
Unfortunately there had been a terrible stench in the room due to a pot in the oven from a previous guest. Inside the pot was old food that had rotted and gone bad. The pot must have been in the oven for more than 2 weeks. The owner was very sorry and tried to compensate to give discounts in the future. Owner will need to go through each room before new guests arrive and make sure it is up to standard. The towels were a bit too rough.

The room was rather small for two people and the bathroom was very awkward and cramped and the parking, though secure, was difficult to reverse out of the gate. I would not stay in Gonubie again as the roads are atrocious and restaurant selection is very limited.

Unit was neat but shower's drain was partially blocked. Self-catering part consisted of a fridge with a microwave on top of it. Loose cutlery is provided but there is no surface, except for an outside table, on which to prepare food. If it rains you have to prepare food on the bed. There is also no separate washing up area for dishes and you have to do it in the bathroom.
Booking accommodation without a reference is always risky business. What a pleasant surprise! Secure parking for vehicle and trailer very close to entrance of individual unit, covered veranda with built-in barbecue. Good security starting at the front door and then a well laid out open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area which is fully equipped even with fine quality wine glasses that compliment a good wine. Quality towels make showering a pleasure. Queen-size beds covered with linen of the best quality makes for a night of blissful sleep. Excellent value for money!
