Our hostess Karen and her husband Stuart went out of their way to pamper us beyond measure. The meals were exceptional and so stylishly served. They are the dearest and kindest people. The tranquility and farm atmosphere was good for the soul! We stayed two nights, but next time it will be for a week! Well done Karen and Stuart!

Friendly hostess, neat, well-equipped apartment, delicious peasant food and silence. The nicest thing for us was that it is not close to the road and you can therefore thoroughly enjoy the silence. Breakfast on the porch was a winner.
We stayed at Southfield Cottage on our way from Port Elizabeth to Johannesburg and it was the perfect stop over - 4. 5hr drive so we left midday and arrived late afternoon. The host is very kind and thoughtful and went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. Highly recommend.

Incredibly clean, beautiful accommodation on family farm. Host, Karen, very sweet. Arranged bedding for our 3rd child. Cottage much bigger than photos. Lovely sheep farm with friendly sheep dog, cutest lambs and beautiful sunflowers. My daughters enjoyed walking around farm. Very safe. 7 km off main road. Will definitely come again.

Southfield Cottage is the perfect overnight stop. It's located in a beautiful environment and the unit was very clean and tidy with all the amenities you need for a family. Although this is a self-catering unit, they offer dining options for the weary travelers who just want to relax. We were deliciously spoiled with freshly baked bread, delicious roast beef, salads and a top shelf mallow pudding. Karen they were really friendly and hospitable and made sure we were comfortable. Our children also really enjoyed the farm environment with the baby lambs. I would recommend Southfield Cottage to anyone.
