My little house by the sea, that's what I call it. Nice stay. Had no problems.
I would definitely prefer to have softer white sheets. They were very scratchy to sleep under. Maybe they should have Stay Soft added to the wash and ironed to make them feel more comfortable! Otherwise, everything else was perfect and the host was a very helpful and caring person in every way. Thanks, see you next time! Lovely place with a very nice view on Langebaan's lagoon. We assumed there was air conditioning in the place, which there wasn't, and which I would recommend or even just a fan because we were there at a pretty hot time of year. Other than that, I can't find anything wrong with the place. Furthermore, there was everything you could possibly need. We packed up with a heavy heart and wished we could have stayed for a few more days. I would go there again for a weekend rest anytime.

We arrived a little earlier than the check-in time and were greeted by the host, who was busy cleaning the apartment. The location of the place is beautiful with views for miles, but we were not impressed that the bathroom door was broken and could not be closed, and the toilet seemed to take forever to fill up after being flushed and was terribly noisy. Also, the shower does not lend itself to be used by bigger/fuller-bodied persons as the entry is very small. Besides the location, the accommodation was very average.

We absolutely loved Speelhuis. Beautiful view, is private and so comfortable. My husband loved the shower in the middle of the room and we regret not staying another day. There is, however, no signal and the Wi-Fi is okay not the best speed. Some glasses need replacing as some are chipped but will definitely be back again and already recommended it to our friends.
Paintwork here and there will need touch up. Otherwise Great! Loadshedding is a pain for all of us, provision for alternative power supply would be a plus.

We were kindly received at Speelhuis and it looked even better than in the photos.
Great location and Sylvia was very helpful. A couple of things to improve though. They should install frosted glass in unit 4. The windows are exactly the level of the car parking so cars shine their lights into the room. The TV started flickering at the 60th minute of the Springboks NZ game. I arrived late in the evening, all the sliding doors were open, and it was super cold. They should close the doors if guests arrive after dark.
Everything was done professionally. I only had problems with the R1000 deposit. Still don't know where I paid it or should have paid it. Sent emails and asked but it was only mentioned that I have to pay the host, but no further info.
Although Speelhuis is starting to show the "need" for some renovation here and there, it still remains a lovely place to rest and enjoy a nice holiday. Sylvia remains an excellent hostess, and although we have been there a few times, I will visit this place again and again, and recommend it to people. I would enjoy it a lot more though, if a plan could be made with the doors slamming all the time. People don't expect the doors to slam shut easily, so they don't necessarily pay attention to it. I feel the owner should make a plan with this.

Very relaxing environment, nice to come and rest.
The accommodation is comfortable for 2 people. Nice clean and light in the room. Feel comfortable and safe even though there is a lot of construction in the area. The lady who helped us was very nice and professional. The shower water was a bit erratic between hot/cold, maybe we couldn't find the right chord. We recommend Speelhuis and in flower time it is a lovely nest.
Room needs an upgrade with new paint, faucets at sinks are loose. Shower entrance is very narrow, not made for big frisky men. The wall above the barbecue on the balcony is black from the smoke. Freezer was slightly damaged, drawers moved in and out with difficulty. Definitely can't pay R1100/night just for the view.
It's the 3rd time we visit Speelhuis and certainly not the last time. It's really worth every penny. What a lovely weekend and even though the wind was about to blow, we were sheltered and could still enjoy everything. Beautiful view of the sea.

Excellent communication and directions before our visit. Sylvia welcomed us kindly at the Playhouse and even the gate guard at Paradise Beach was aware of our arrival. The place is very safe and has everything one needs. We had a lovely weekend and rested well.

Great location and view, good cleanliness, but with some negative points. Nowhere on the website or instructions does it say one must gain access through the gate of Club Mykonos, so we followed Google Map and ended up in an undeveloped area with imaginary roads - thus wasting at least an hour. The cutlery was inadequate - making a fruit salad with a small paring knife is no fun - how about a decent knife? There was one toilet roll in the bathroom - unacceptable. The equipment in Speelhuis can be upgraded. And finally - with the booking the two single bed option was requested - this had to be done after our arrival. Playhouse, with such a fantastic location, deserves better.
The unit was very nice and the view was beautiful. The only drawback is that the units are above the owner's home, so there is no direct access to the beach. It isn't a long walk, but rather treacherous getting down to the beach if the tide is in.

The security is very good and access to the beach is right there, very quiet and secluded with breathtaking sea views.

On arrival the place had not been cleaned. Think the way we were received is very unprofessional. For the amount of money being asked for, there could at least be milk, coffee and water available. No DStv although they advertise it. Signals apparently too bad. Place needs a lot of attention. Teels' waterproofing is not tidy at all.

Sylvia was there immediately to show us everything. She was very friendly and helpful. The unit was nice and clean and is so comfortable with a giant cage. We left the glass doors open all the time. It was lovely to see and hear the sea. The unit is fully equipped with everything for self-catering and we were able to have a nice barbecue on the balcony. The beach is lovely. There are rocks on one side that deflect the wind.
What an amazing weekend with my fiancé. Wish we had more time to spend at the Speelhuis. The location is crazy beautiful and would definitely go back to make more amazing memories.

I would definitely recommend Speelhuis to any person. You are literally on the sea, it's very safe, you have to e.g. go through 2 security booms before you get to Speelhuis.

We had an idea of Speelhuis, as depicted on the website, but the physical location and especially the privacy and beautiful sea view, was our greatest blessing. It is truly perfectly located, offered everything we needed and will definitely be an option for the future. The clean and tidy studio is definitely appreciated and Sylvia is truly a good ambassador for Speelhuis. Everyone who could contribute was precious to us, the security, day and night, Emily and the hospitality of Langebaan/Mykonos. Speelhuis is definitely ideal for any getaway for couples. We had a fantastic stay. Sylvia is an amazing host! The view and location is simply superb. The apartment has everything one needs. My only constructive criticism would be to have additional toilet paper rolls as well as a black bag or two extra for the stay. We will certainly be back though, it was amazing. Lovely restaurants in the area as well as a very convenient shopping mall. Thank you - we went home VERY rested and relaxed.

The coffee there is not very good, and a small table outside will only work better than the log.
Our only criticism is that we were not informed in advance that the keys for the unit should be collected 10 km from there. Upon our arrival there was no one to meet us and we had to make several calls on a Sunday afternoon to find out where to get the keys and then had to drive a total of 20 km before we could relax. Although everything was clean and tidy, some of the bedding had to be permanently replaced. Specifically, the bottom of the duvet that was pushed under the mattress is completely frayed and full of holes. Consider it constructive criticism because all things considered, our visit was fantastic and we will go again.

The room is beautiful and modern and the view is breathtaking. There is a problem with the shower drain that needs fixing.
Bedding was old, tattered and torn - it had holes in it. Not sure if it was clean but found a flea and also suffered inflammation and swelling on my arm as a result of bites from dust mites. Picture quality on TV was very bad and we couldn't watch TV. Kitchen sink was leaking. Reported this to the owner during our stay but did not receive a response. Safety was a huge concern as the units are situated on the first floor. The door to gain entry to the block was never locked and the units are not secured with a security gates.

From the moment we arrived, the staff were very friendly until we had to go home. Plekkie is perfectly located and ideal for a breathtaking weekend. You don't even have to open the windows to hear the breaking of the waves on the rock in the morning. With the beach under your feet, this is a getaway we would recommend.

The studio was very tidy which is a big plus. The view was well worth it, because it just created the whole atmosphere and I felt very safe with all the security gates you had to go through. I was able to walk peacefully undisturbed in privacy. Very nice stay.

It must be indicated or communicated properly that you have to book in at the Farmhouse hotel first and then go to Speelhuis. The two places are on the total opposite side of Langebaan. This was a bit annoying especially when you leave Cape Town late and arrive late in Langebaan.

The website does not make it clear that the check-in process must take place at The Farmhouse Hotel. So we headed off to the Speelhuis first, only to hear that we had to go to the Farmhouse first. After about 700 km behind the wheel, it was quite a disappointment.

We enjoyed our stay in one of the studio apartments a lot. It is located in a quiet part of Paradise Beach with the prettiest view of the ocean. It is also sheltered against any wind. It is convenient and ideal to relax for a few days. Will definitely stay here again.

We loved every minute of our stay at the Speelhuis. It is small but you don't require anything more. It was sexy and romantic and on the beach. I will definitely go back and back again. It's one of our favourites now. The location is stunning and the views were out of a magazine. It was one of our best memories.

Really unhappy by the fact that I booked the speelhuis. I was half an hour from checking in when they phoned me and said that the place is under 'maintenance', which was not the correct story. They then booked me into the Kite House - it's maintenance was shocking and not the value for money I paid. After making a scene and said this is unacceptable, they booked me into the farmhouse. The package is supposed to include breakfast when we stayed there but we weren't allowed breakfast. Paying more for a weekend than the cost of the room at farmhouse, I would want a breakfast or money back. Speelhuis was not under maintenance, as friends of mine came and stayed there on the Sunday but according to the owner maintenance was supposed to be long and it won't be open soon. This situation was not handled well at all.

It was wonderful waking up to the sound of crashing waves in the morning! Speelhuis offers everything you need for a weekend away. The glass-covered shower is something special. As stated in the introduction, the location is outstanding. For the price, one might expect something more "wow". Nevertheless, we enjoyed it a lot.
Will definitely be returning. Definitely worth your while. Anything only negative thing is the fact that you have to pick up the keys from the other side of town. It's a bit of a detour. If you're only on a weekend getaway, you're not in the mood for extra driving before you reach your destination.
We attended friends' wedding in Boesmanland. Comfortable little place to spend the night.
I had a geyser issue (no hot water) and even after notifying the service desk and following up on numerous occasions, there was no urgency in resolving the issue. Hot water was restored on Saturday evening at 21:00 only (the day before departure). Promises were made to compensate me for the inconvenience, and again, even after following up on those promises, nothing has materialised.
I can highly recommend the Speelhuis. It was comfortable and the cleaning service came in every day to ask whether we needed anything. Close to the sea.
All that is not nice is that the final paperwork and payment is done at the hotel.
Speelhuis was a big surprise with an awesome sea view. The finishing and interior was minimalistic, practical and beautiful. We were so sorry to pack up again. We just wanted to stay longer. Our next visit will definitely be in Speelhuis again. Speelhuis can definitely be recommended.

Modern accommodation, Very convenient, private and ideal for a quiet vacation. Would definitely stay here again. Read directions carefully and note that the reception is in Langebaan itself, about 10 km from the Speelhuis.
The location is second to none with awesome views of the ocean and nothing like hearing the sound of the waves lapping onto the beach when you wake up. The rooms have everything you need and makes for a very comfortable stay. Only drawback was that the place is due for a bit of maintenance and refurbishment, which hopefully the owners will look into soon.
Bad lights. The kind of lights in the studio are bad quality, cheap lights for an expensive unit. Crockery is also cheap, expected more from the photo's and price. Dirty entrance and carpets look terrible. Bed is worn out. Grout between tiles area dirty and floor looks dirty and gross. I recommend a different coloured tile. Otherwise pleasant accommodation, especially the view and security was superior. Customer service: good reception at hotel. Was just far to drive all the way and back again. Especially if you are on a tour of the Cape you want to get to your accommodation and check in, you don't want to drive around and get codes. Was a bit frustrating.

It's like your own little place by the sea. Farmhouse caretakers on site service is fantastic. The beach is quite private clean and the sand is white. Safety is good. Room and bathroom are clean, tidy and modern. Definitely worth the money.
The most delicious, peaceful vacation my girlfriend and I had! It is now heaven on earth for our age group. (50+) We were there out of season, so I don't know if people with children might find it too peaceful. I would have loved to have seen Ben (the dog)!
The place is ideal to switch off, enjoy the sea, go for a walk and relax on the beach. You can cook for yourself or enjoy the nearby eateries where you can spoil your significant other.
The unit is well furnished and meets all my standards.
Location was unbeatable. Right on the beach with amazing views. Unit itself was comfortable. For a self catering unit, it would have been nice to have a little 2 plate stove. One was limited to braaiing. The TV was a bit outdated.
Unfortunately there are black mif spots on the ceiling which are very unsightly. The room walls have peeling paint and cracks that need urgent repair. The exhaust fan in the toilet is not working. The overall condition of the ceiling and walls gives one the feeling that the owners/management do not care much about guests as long as the occupancy percentage is very satisfactory. It will help guests a lot to get a road map that gives directions from Mykonos' entrance to the Playhouse as well as a chip that can be stuck on the windshield of your vehicle indicating the period of stay.
I feel place could have been designated better, on arrival you have to call the Hotel to confirm your entry, then you have to drive into Langebaan where you have to sign documents, return to where you are staying. The towels are torn, and there is only "shower gel" and no other products. DStv was broken and after it was replaced, some channels were not available. Anyone can access different units. You just mention a place's name and access is granted. The shower is pathetically small, no space to move in.

There is an inverter that keeps the lights and Wi-Fi on during power outages.
There is an exclusive off-street parking bay available. Guests have direct access to a secluded beach. Each studio has its own braai on private balcony-only briquettes allowed to be used.
