Accommodation comprises 9 bedrooms with different layouts to cater to all groups. Of the 9 bedrooms, 6 have their own en-suite bathrooms. The larger, family rooms feature a fridge and some have coffee- and tea-making facilities.
Guests can get together in the spacious lapa which can accommodate between 60 and 100 guests, ideal for birthdays and other functions. There are 2 fully equipped kitchens and 4 braai areas for guests to make use of.

Didn't even know about Merweville until quite recently, but what a lovely and cute little place it is. People are very friendly, place is clean and safe. The evenings are quiet and dark, you can even hear your thoughts in your head. Truly a lovely visit and a must visit if you want to get away from the everyday rat race.
A 1-night stopover on the way to Cape Town. The room was clean and comfortable, the communal kitchen and living room were also comfortable and well-equipped.

Yes, the stay was good. However, we were under the impression that there were restaurant facilities at the lodge - so not prepared for self catering.
At Springbok Lodge in Merweville, you get heaps of genuine Karoo friendliness and warmth without pretensions. Here you soon realize again what is important in life.
Kallie has done quite a few upgrades since we were last at the Lodge. Top quality taps and mixers in the bathrooms. The camping facilities have also been upgraded. There is everything that you need.

We were a group of 6 persons and spent the night in room 8 (where 4 could sleep) and room 6. Both rooms have private bathrooms with showers. Beds were comfortable. We were able to use the one kitchen which was fully equipped. We were kindly received. The breakfast was delicious, thank you very much, Mary-Anne. Can highly recommend the stay.

Ek sal die plek aanbeveel. Ons gasheer was baie behulpsaam en vriendlik. Skoon kamer, als wat jy nodig het. Klein yskas in kamer en tee/koffie stasie. Selfsorgkombuis op die perseel en ’n mooi braai-area en geriewe. Die kampeerplek was ook baie mooi. Sal beslis teruggaan.

The room was a bit small with an outside bathroom.
Merweville is a very small Karoo town that is suffering from drought and a poor economy. We were disappointed that no restaurants were open and attractions are really few. The silence, bright stars and simplicity are a great escape for us city jays
We traveled through the Northern Cape and Karoo for 2 weeks, and the amenities of the Springbok Lodge unfortunately paled in comparison to all the other places we stayed. It is the middle of winter and we would have expected at least a heater in the room.
We really enjoyed our stay for the 2 nights. Everything is nice and tidy and the charm of the countryside was outstanding. We felt so at home at the lodge because we were kindly received by everyone including the owner. Mary Ann and Johan do very well with the management of the lodge. Keep up what you are doing it was nice to visit there.
We were 4 friends who spent the night in Springbok Lodge. Johan van Heerden received us kindly. The rooms were clean and tidy. The evening was cozy with other guests and we ate delicious peasant food that Mary-Anne (Johan's wife and the owner Kallie's cousin) made for us. In the morning, Mary-Anne made us such a nice breakfast. I would recommend Springbok Lodge as country accommodation anytime.
Guests must remember to provide for their own dinners as there are no eateries in the village open in the evening.
The guest house has a lot of atmosphere and brings back memories.
Nice touch but would prefer to have coffee/tea facilities available in the room rather than using a communal kitchen for the purpose. Overall a lovely stay.

We specifically went to see Merweville because of the TV series, Book Club, but were disappointed as everything was closed, although the beautiful church is the focal point of the town. No notable restaurants available although small shop does serve breakfast.

Merweville is a very special village with Karoo hospitality. The 2 restaurants we were recommended to go to provided excellent service. Sunday morning at 06:00 the bells of the beautiful church rang and just after that very beautiful organ music wafted over the village from another church. It will always come to mind when you think of Merweville.

Despite the drought, Merweville is a special place, visit the Book Club Restaurant for the most delicious carrot cake and coffee. Owner of Springbok Lodge very friendly and an interesting person, we enjoyed him very much. We will go back again!
We were on a road trip and had to spend the night between Sutherland and Oudshoorn. What a surprise.
Shower clogged, windows won't open and fan slow. No soft drinks or water for sale. Covid regulations are not being followed.
Merweville is not exactly a village that one would simply drive through, but I feel that everyone who likes a little of our country should make the effort. It is very dry at the moment but not too little very beautiful. We were received with kindness and the host, Kallie, quickly made us feel at home with all the interesting stories about Merweville. The unit was neat and clean. Thank you for a wonderful Karoo visit!
This really was value for money. We had a very hospitable reception by the managers. The rooms were very nicely decorated and clean. No problems. We had a delicious breakfast the morning of our departure. It's really a place to book again. However, the coordinates were completely confusing. In the small village we struggled to find this place but luckily we had the street address.
