The location of the cottages and its proximity to the hotel was awesome. The lake was lovely and all of the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Value for money considering it included breakfast but since it's self-catering, it was just easier to make our own especially because breakfast isn't on-site - it's a 10 m drive (not too far)! The brown water was a huge issue!
Please may they fix the road to the Springholm Cottages.
Cottages, dam and surroundings are a little tired and need attention. Some basic essentials lacking. As a long-time fly fisherman question the "trophy fish" claim. Didn't see a rise or fish in two full days there and half of the dam was full of weeds. Jetties, wooden gangplanks and wooden verandahs are in a bad state. Not a good fishing spot.
The photos were taken a long time ago and/or manipulated. The cottage is very old and not at all luxurious as presented in the photos. There is also no fireplace as advertised. The staff is helpful, but the unit is not worth the price. There also appear to be communication gaps regarding B&B terms, although the hotel honored the reservation as such, they stated that the price actually did not include breakfast. Which of course would have affected the value for money even more.
The breakfast at Brahman cafe was really great and so was the dinner. My friend and I absolutely enjoyed our stay! We will be back.
The place is wonderful and I would definitely visit again, however there is some maintenance required. Some of the lights don't work, one of the fans didn't switch on and some locks were a bit stuck. It just needs some TLC. I also struggled to get hold of anyone to assist with these issues.
We never had water on-site the day of an important wedding due to bad maintenance (tanks were empty). Not ideal, but they managed to fix it half an hour before we had to leave.
What you see on the website and what you get on arrival is night and day. The units are beautiful and neat but we expect a house on the dam and upon arrival we get a room that has no dam view at all. It's not what we signed up for and it's not what we paid for.
