The stay was extremely memorable and beautiful. Friendly staff and very welcoming.
Great place relaxing, clean, quiet enjoyed by entire family.
The rooms were pleasant and clean. Amazing fireplace and the scenery is stunning.
Stunning views and setting. Boma a pleasant surprise with live music on the Sunday afternoon.
Stay was good. Comfortable. More firelighters are required as the ones provided are not enough for night. Tea, coffee and Milk are only provided for the first day. The remove was serviced however these were not provided. It would also help if bottled water was provided. Some mats at the bedside would help as the room does get very cold and is fully tiled.
Stay was great, beautiful views and nice sized rooms. Only issue were the cockroaches and mosquitoes.
I had a lovely time with my friends. The rooms were lovely and neat. The bed is super comfy! I was not able to stay connected to the WiFi, which was a bit annoying, but you had warned us that it would be intermittent. The grounds and view of the dams from the rooms were stunning. We had a lot of fun swimming in the pool and had a good lunch at the BOMA. The kids enjoyed the climbing frames in the play area. My only gripe is that there was a strong sewage smell on the evening of the 31st Dec (from the family rooms) and we had no water on the morning of the 1st Jan (until we called the host and he came and switched on the water). I also didn't have hot water on the last morning (2nd Jan) in my single room, but I didn't call the host about it that time (probably should have). Overall, I was very pleased and will come back again.
On arrival there was confusion about our booking as the dates St Ives had were different to those confirmed with us. Luckily they had a unit for us. The next day we asked for them to look into two power plugs in our room that were out of order and the lights that were on all night outside the unit's windows. We also wanted to know if we could get a curtain in front of the kitchen window and in front of the other windows, as advertised in their photos. We got no response. We booked seven nights, but it happened three times that our unit was still not serviced late in the afternoon, resulting in us having to sit around and wait. Reception's excuse was they are busy and many guests have come and gone. The unit is rather sparsely equipped without a few basic necessities of a self-catering place. Some of the sheets were torn. The location is beautiful and the unit is nice and spacious, but we would have enjoyed our stay more if they had paid attention to our requests and stepped up their service. The wild animals around the unit were a great treat, as was the swimming pool and the spacious premises.
Slept and stayed well. The view from the room could definitely have been better.
Calm and quiet. Beautiful view.
Fireplace needs a tool.
Average. Maintenance needed.
Dated rooms and furnishings. Algae in bathroom. Old towels. Front door didn't lock securely enough. Insects in room on arrival.
Everything is neat and we enjoyed it a lot. The room is comfortable and we could rest well. The grounds are well cared for and there are many animals roaming around near you. We saw zebras, impalas, blue wildebeests, and blesbucks all the time. What would make it even better is if the room had a view.
Well situated in Midlands, very neat and tidy with great restaurant on site.
Beautiful setting in a stunning location across from Piggly Wiggly in the Midlands. They have wildlife on the property, so you are lucky enough to sit on your porch and watch bucks and zebras walk around. Green all around, with a swimming pool for the kids and a play area next to the pool. It is truly as green as the pictures. The only area for improvement is to have information in the room for guests. If you arrive after 5 on a Sunday or on the days the restaurant on the property is not open, you need to plan ahead.
The view is amazing. The wildlife comes to your door. The staff are very friendly and help where they can.
We stayed in one of the two Silo units and while it was very comfortable and we had no real issues, it could do with some TLC. A few of the outdoor lights weren't working and some tiles are coming off. The outdoor paint colour is an interesting one and a change on the next coat could make this a much more attractive-looking venue. Not quite sure if it should be self-catering or not. It has many of the items needed for self-catering but not close to all needed though. I would recommend adding a few more bits.
I had trouble getting someone at reception. It was then and the reception was poor.
The location is perfect for exploring the Midlands.
Baie vriendskaplike ontvangs gewees. Die kamers was skoon en netjies. Sal St Ives Lodge vir seker vir iemand kan aanbeveel.
What can one say further, loved the accommodation, setting and staff. Le magnifique.
We didn't get there until after seven in the evening, then went to enjoy dinner. We then had to drive again early in the morning to be with clients. It had been worth sleeping through. From what we saw in the dark it must be a very beautiful place in the daylight.
Lovely clean room and friendly staff. The Boma has a beautiful view over the dam.
Family unit is spacious with two rooms, each with its own bathroom. Good security. Beautiful place that creates a peaceful atmosphere with wild animals roaming around. Will definitely stay there again.
Everything is very neat. Will definitely stay longer next time!
Great sleep and relax. The Wifi was a bonus for the kids. Will go back again anytime.
Boma restaurant is amazing, just across the road are the most amazing shops and activities for the kids. Candle dipping, animal farm, zipline. Mandela capture site is just up the road - we really enjoyed our stay.
There was no hot water for 2 of my clients and myself. It was the middle of winter.
The worst experience ever. We stayed at this accommodation over the Christmas weekend and on our first night, there were no outside lights on our silo so it was difficult to braai. On Christmas day we requested them to clean up or neaten up our room and they said we need to leave for an hour or 2 only then they will clean up, so we did that and it took even longer, when returning to our silo, it was not even touched. Apparently, they had other rooms to clean up cause people were coming in by 2 pm for check-in, which is fine but why not have enough staff so they can ensure to take care of the people that booked in already it was a true inconvenience to us leaving for 2 and a half hours because we could have prepared our Christmas lunch, but we couldn't because we had to come back clean up then prepare lunch and an hour after that all the plugs tripped we had no power, only lights and then eventually the lights even went off, they refused to put the generator on, they pulled us to 5 pm because that's the time it usually comes on, it was truly disappointing, especially on a Christmas weekend, the staff were unprofessional as well. Will definitely post this on other platforms and will definitely never return to this place.
The environment and nature are picturesque. The room is spotlessly clean and very comfortably furnished with everything you need. I would definitely recommend it.
Amazing stay, great hospitality.
Well worth the travel.
Friendly staff, beautiful surroundings and neat rooms. Just the place to spend a lovely weekend.
We had a very enjoyable stay at St Ives. The staff was friendly and the room was just right. We ate at the boma which overlooked the dam. Beautiful view for a sunset and to relax.
Beautiful farm with lots of wildlife and nice fishing ponds. Safe for young children.
We didn't know where to get room key. We asked a cleaner who was not very friendly. David at security entrance was friendly.
Cynthia was very friendly.
Was very pleasantly surprised. The room was fantastic, big bed, log fire, and the shower's water pressure was very high which made it nice on a cold day. The breakfast was 100%. The Boma's food the night before was also very tasty and cozy.
Outstanding. Very good and tasty.
Although the reservation states that check-in time is until 8:00 p.m., there was great confusion when we arrived at 6:45 p.m. and no one knew about the reservation.
