49 guests' feedbackOn arrival we were moved to a bigger place than we had booked and that was so welcomed. Not that the log cabin wouldn't suffice. Everything is very neat, spacious and nicely decorated. You have someone come in every day to clean. The house has everything you need to cook, but if you don't feel like cooking yourself, the property is located very close to restaurants. During the power outages they have a generator that kicks in immediately and it was so nice not to struggle in the dark. It was very nice for us and our 3 little ones to stay at Ocean View. It is highly recommendable.
Ideally situated for our birding and game viewing stay in St Lucia. Having a generator back-up to cover for the usual poor Eskom service was great. The built-in braai was by far the best I've come across! Will be back at St Lucia Ocean View Lodge for future St Lucia trips.

Good central spot for birding walks.
Ocean View Lodge is in a great location, away from the main street, but close enough to walk for a meal out. We were not bugged the whole time we were there, but had everything we needed. Great view from the swimming pool, quiet area to chill with friends. Would recommend.

Unfortunately the last evening was spoilt by very rowdy guests in another chalet - a definite drawback of having the chalets very close to each other.
Ocean View Lodge is your "home away from home". With everything you need inside and out, it's clean inside and out. The monkeys drop by and the birds chat every day. Your place is cleaned every day and everyone is very friendly at all times.
We decided on the spur of the moment to break away for a few days and booked the accommodation at short notice, with no difficulty. The wooden houses are very nicely furnished and we lacked nothing. It was off season so the units and town were nice and quiet. The unit and barbecue area were cleaned every day. The place is definitely value for money and we would love to holiday there again.
We have been going to St. Lucia and have stayed at several places. Lai La is the best so far! Was a highlight for our vacation!

Lai La Log Cabins is well located and within walking distance to the estuary and offers clean accommodation, the staff are friendly and helpful. It is ideal for a peaceful and relaxing holiday or weekend getaway.

Apart from microwave not turning on at all, there were no other problems.
The house was great, and well stocked. We did have issues with the toilet seat being broken, the toilet roll holder being broken, as well as the soap holder in the shower. Would suggest replacing these, as it is quite a frustration. Other than that, the housekeeper was friendly and efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would book again in the future.

Excellent location but there were no towels (had to go and ask), no soap, no air conditioning and a rattling window. Maintenance is necessary.
The environment is very peaceful and close to both the business area and the beach and reserve. The unit is big enough and comfortable. The staff were kind enough to let us check out an hour later than normal so I could shower after the half marathon I ran that morning. There were only 2 problems. No one was manning the office the afternoon we arrived which required us to circle around to gain access to the premises. The geyser is set at about 40 degrees celsius which is very cold at this stage as the weather is already much cooler than in December. / Jan. With poor water pressure being a common problem that cannot be remedied, cold water is even worse to shower. In high summer the colder water would not have mattered at all.
I enjoyed it and would recommend it.
The chairs in the lounge area were a little past their prime, and could do with an upgrade, but as we were out and about most of the time, the comfy beds mattered more. A lovely stay in St Lucia.

Simple but neat and well-equipped residential units with secure parking right next to your unit - ideal if you are going to spend little time there and are mostly out. Friendly service at favorable prices. The curtains in the bathroom could be slightly tighter.

We were looking for a self-catering base in easy travelling distance to Cape Vidal and Mfolozi-Hluhluwe. The location was perfect and the customer service, friendliness and advice was excellent. We will definitely return and I would not hesitate to recommend Lai La Log Cabins to my friends.

The owner was very helpful and these self-catering units are definitely recommended. Only criticism is that we had to pay cash. It is not safe to withdraw so much cash.
