The 2 cottages are located next to each other on the ground floor, with face brick inside as well as outside, featuring high pine ceilings. The 2 family cottages each have 2 bedrooms. One bedroom is furnished with a double bed while the other bedroom has 2 single beds. Each family unit comprises one full bathroom and also has an open-plan kitchen, dining area and a lounge. The dining area has a 6-seater table. The elevated television has free DStv channels only. The lounge has comfortable lounge chairs and 2 single bunk or stack beds for children.
The unit has entrance sliding glass doors that lead onto a semi-private braai area, little garden with garden furniture. The cottages share a conjoined wall with separate entrances and garden areas separated by plants. The back door leads to the washing line. Vehicle Parking is onsite, under roof cover at dedicated carport.
All the doors have mosquito netting, and the units are non-smoking. No pets or groups and parties are permitted. There is 1 allocated parking per unit on the premises at the undercover carport. The units are serviced once daily.
On site facilities include an outdoor swimming pool (not fenced), book exchange shelve in reception, visitor information and one free map of the area, free entry level WiFi.
St Lucia Wilds is situated within walking distance to the centre of town, in the main street. Please note the owner and their family lives on site. On site is an in-house gallery and craft studio. We offer art tourism activities - guests pay to do a painting project with tea and cake, while relaxing in the tranquil garden or craft table inside. Small children get oil pastels. Quality craft and art for sale.
The garden is wildlife-friendly and kept neat and natural to maintain a healthy ecosystem. The garden is visited by Vervet monkeys, Banded mongoose, Red Duiker, Bushbuck, tree squirrels, many birds and sometimes the hippos graze the lakeside grass at night.

Very comfortable, will stay here again.
The atmosphere is very nice. I love the forest/sea environment.
Thank you very much, it was very nice.
Ideal for bird watchers. Restful. At St Lucia's walk in the forest paths.
Would I recommend it - I honestly don't know. When we got there in the evening, there was no electricity and therefore no water (cold or hot). I understand it was out of their control, but no backup plan was made. Just telling us they understand if we don't want to stay is not really acceptable. We have traveled far, so where would we go? The cottage was clean enough, although the kitchen was a bit dusty. Beds a bit uncomfortable, and the master bedroom is very small. The cupboards basically only have hanging space. Chairs outside are also on their last legs. Overall, not only was it bad, but I don't think I could recommend it for more than a weekend.
The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Lovely garden. Right next to stunning forest walk.
Catalina lookout was beautiful. Cape Vidal just as picture-perfect.
Can recommend the accommodation with confidence. Will definitely visit again.
We had a lovely winter holiday. Just a pity 1 week is so short! Will definitely go there again!
Really liked the place.
The environment was very peaceful and quiet. Off season with little traffic.
Although the one bedroom is a little narrow, the unit can accommodate four persons easily, with extra two beds in the lounge, if you want to stretch it. The kitchen has everything which is required in for a self-catering unit. Although we were warned about roaming monkeys, mossies and water shortage, we did not really experience any problems. WiFi was available in our unit. The best part was the hosting family, which was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Thank you Anna for the cake!
Had bed bugs with one other guest. Bites took one week to get better. Owners are also very curious and come to see what people are doing at the place all the time and eavesdrop on conversations. Place was neat but the bugs were not to our liking.
See stars.
Good reception. Good accommodation in spacious atrium, but room with double bad doensn't have enough space (difficult for older peopel to move around). The other room with twin beds definitely has more space and it has air con also. Well-appointed kitchen area with everything you need to prepare delicious food. Close enough to shops, restaurants, etc. Good service to make bookings from boat cruise. No safety hedge infront of houses - no issues but we wera a bit worried. All in all good accommodation, we'll be back.
Very friendly and hospitable. Chalet was very nice inside and we wish them luck with the water restrictions.
We had everything we needed, except water. This is due to the drought and not St Lucia Wilds. Enjoy your stay!
Imelda and her team were great from day one, cottages are clean and equipped with everything needed. Imelda was very helpful with directions to places and cheaper shops (Spar terribly expensive). We as a family especially with a 7 year old had a great stay, environment also very peaceful. Thank you St Lucia Wilds for the lovely visit with you, will return to you again.
St Lucia Wilds has an ongoing water supply problem. They turn on the pump at certain times and if one can work around it, it probably won't be a problem. They were accommodating to us by allowing us to turn on the pump when I came back from the fishing waters to take a shower. However, there were few people, so it won't apply if the place is full. The flatlet we were booked into is part of a very old house, and everything is clean, but basic and just as old as the house. From the outside, the location or maintenance does not seem to be a priority. I would recommend that guests are at least informed ahead of time of the water arrangements. My wife was not very happy about the situation. I can only recommend LekkeSlaap. Good service.
It was pleasant and nice and quiet.
Pleasant and peaceful. Friendly advice on sightseeing. Residence cleaned daily.
We had a great stay, everything was pleasant. Enjoyed the sunset, but would recommend trimming the overgrowth which blocks the lake view.
Very pleasant stay, and would visit again.
