17 guests' feedbackBreakfast, dinner and drinks were excellent and good value for money. Zoli and team were incredibly hospitable. Rooms and beds were the cleanest we have ever seen. The dirt road to the farm is long and possibly not suitable for sedan cars.
We had a lovely one-night stay at Stagger Inn Guest Lodge and will definitely be back for longer to fully appreciate its tranquility and immerse ourselves in nature. Even though we arrived in the late evening, Zoliswa, Luanda, and the other staff pulled out all the stops to ensure we were comfortable and had enough wood and bedding. We reached our unit with minimal fuss (the GPS tends to give incorrect directions for the long stretch of dirt road, so be sure to phone ahead to avoid making a wrong turn). We were very happy with the location, communication, facilities, and level of comfort offered. A very pretty little treasure that's a real find and pet-friendly to boot!
Magnificent setting. We used it as an overnight stop, so the road condition and distance from the main road were inconvenient. If it was our destination then this would not have been an issue. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. Again, pet friendly.
Had a great stay, and the service was really great. They cooked us food in the evening, which was very nice, and a lot of effort was put into it.

Signage to the property should be improved, not easy to find once off the tar road. You require a 4 x 4 vehicle, which was not mentioned at the time of booking. Maybe this only applies when it rains!
It's a very nice place to stay. However, due to the drought, we had no water. It was a bit of a struggle to flush the toilets and get the dishes clean. Something that was a bit disturbing was the large male baboon lying at the entrance (he had been shot). It was not a pretty sight. The road to the apartments was also very bad, we struggled with our sedan vehicle. There was no cell phone reception.
Road to the guest house very bad, GPS not correct. No phone communication, no one at reception. Unaware of discussion. Place is neglected, photos not at all the same as reality.
Although the roads were washed out, the workers went out of their way to make it pleasant. The accommodation was very clean and tidy. Not even loadshedding could stop the good service. They even had a flask of hot water ready for coffee in the morning.
The service is outstanding as are the staff. Zoli is an outstanding example of customer service and sets a very high expectation for her staff which both Sylvia and Monica easily meet. A very enjoyable experience.
Would be nice if one was warned ahead of time that you actually need a 4x4 to get there. We have a new car and were not very happy driving on such a dirty dirt road. It would be nice to be prepared and then decide if you want to drive there or not.
My dog and I were given such a warm and friendly welcome by my hosts. Perfect stopover location with clean and spacious pet-friendly rooms, with WiFi and DStv, in an old farm lodge in a beautiful garden setting, with great walks, surrounded by a working farm, dams, rivers and sweeping mountain views. The dinner buffet and free breakfast were delicious, filling and such a bonus. Will definitely stop here again on that long road. Very safe for single female travellers.
Kitchen is not equipped for 4 people. No glasses, only 2 bowls of porridge. Only 2 comfortable seats after long journey. Doors don't close. Kitchen drawer was broken. Cold water runs very slowly into the bath. House definitely needs finishing touches to make it value for money. Environment is lovely and quiet.
Thanks very much Zoliswa and team for excellent service. It was such a pleasure to spend the night on the farm between the mountains. It’s such a beautiful place and we really enjoyed the peace and quiet.
Very nice and will use again. Only suggestion is maybe, the GPS made us turn right where we shouldn't have. There might be an arrow sign for "straight on". And when we later HAD to turn right, we interpreted that sign as first straight on and then later right.
Lovely afternoon and evening spent with the wind blowing through the eucalyptus trees and chatting. Had a great barbecue and it was very peaceful.
