No TV, no breakfast, towels feel like sandpaper, no air conditioning, just a fan. Price of R1600 or even the cheaper rooms at R1450 is ridiculous for what you get. Could have lived in Hermanus for cheaper with better facilities. Were the only guests and that's because they are too expensive. Very disappointed. Waste of money.
The house is very cozy and charming on the inside. However, the website has a photo of another cottage that looks charming and authentic and has a nice sidewalk. The photos of this cottage are of the interior only. We understood it that way on arrival, because the outside of the house is a bit shabby and has no porch. So we felt a little cheated. There also appears to be no barbecue, which was mentioned on the website. Fortunately, the person who received us was kind enough to lend us his Weber. Overall a nice place, but for this money we expected a bit more.
We didn't like the wall to wall carpet. Didn't feel completely safe. The veranda is nice. Could do with a bit of extra styling. But overall not a bad stay.
We had a lovely stay in Stanford Hotel. The rooms are exceptionally stylish and historically furnished. As a bonus, there is an incredibly interesting private museum part of the hotel. The focus is on personal service and hospitality. We regretted not being able to stay longer. Would definitely want to stay there again!

I can only impart positive thoughts. My stay was peaceful and beautiful. I felt very safe and appreciated that I could also park my car in the yard behind a locked gate. The people in Stanford are very friendly and even though I was a stranger I didn't feel like one. I will definitely stay in Stanford again and this time longer!

Jenny was very helpful and hospitable. Nothing was too much trouble. David told us a lot about the area and bird life during our early morning river cruise for which Jenny packed us a delicious breakfast. The rooms are clean and comfortable and nicely furnished with old furniture.
