Would recommend Steenbok House anytime. Our hostess, Phillippa, went out of her way to make everything as comfortable as possible for us, she even bought electric blankets for all the rooms when we found out ahead of time if there were any. Thank you Phillippa, we really appreciated it.
Great that each room has its own bathroom. Nice beds and good bed linen. Kitchen is well equipped. Friendly service and fantastic that it is designed against load shedding.
Nice balcony where you can see the mountain and listen to birds.
Very clean and fresh linen and towels and warm welcome and communication. Delicious fresh flowers in every room. Feels like my own home, beautiful and modern. Apartment is also equipped with inverter, so there is always light and hot water and fast WiFi.
A pleasant guesthouse with good views and very accessible to the Hermanus city centre and all the attractions. Lovely terrace with view of the mountain.

The location is quiet and secure but within easy access of shopping areas, the beach and whale spotting sites. It is, too, only a short, always scenic drive to many places of interest. There are many cafes and restaurants to choose from catering to diverse tastes.

So peaceful to sit on the porch in the mornings and evenings and listen to the birds. Lovely apartment with everything you need. Very central, especially for parents who come from far away with children who have to play sports in Hermanus. Very close to Hermanus High and Primary School. Quiet peaceful neighborhood.
Amazing stay. Hosts were very helpful, made us feel very welcome, even offering advice for safe running routes. Within walking distance into town yet far enough from town to be peaceful and quiet. Accommodation has everything one needs and was very clean. Accommodation is exactly as shown on website. Stunning area, calm and relaxed outside of the tourist chaos but very central to easily access all tourism attractions, from the New Harbour to Grotto Beach!
Great central location - 5 mins to the main town. Phillippa was friendly and welcoming. She was also quick to reply when we had a question. Safe and secure garden area which the kids could explore. WiFi worked perfectly. Would recommend and happily book again. We appreciated the clear communication from Phillipa prior to our arrival.

Steenbok House is a beautiful flat. Loved the comfortable beds and beautiful linen. The en-suite bathrooms were most delightful, the best showers in the world with the warmest water. Great host Phillipa and her sweet parents.
Very friendly check in, and so much appreciated the beautiful fresh flowers! Thank you Phillippa! Excellent comfortable beds, nice bedding and lovely showers , so convenient each room with own bathroom, everything exactly like in pictures. Well equipped kitchen, cleaning detergents supplied. WiFi worked fine! But bedroom doors stuck in frames and could not open from inside! No soap or gel of any kind for hand wash like expected, even in the most basic cheapest accommodation, even more so during Covid crisis. Used sponge in kitchen and very used swab. Dirty socks found in bedroom drawer! There is a security door but we were asked not to close it as it might offset the alarm in main house, so actually there is no security door. There is no secure parking, it is off street parking open to street, in front of garage that seemed to be empty . We where told that for the second half of a six night stay the garage will be available, but then at the time where told "no, the owner has changed his mind". I paid cash upon arrival and did not have correct amount. No need for a receipt but also never received the change!

We had a great stay in Steenbok House and the owners were very hospitable. It's neat and has a lovely kitchen and living area with a balcony. It's close to the town centre and easy to find.
A lovely, modern, newly redone residential unit. Very neat and clean. Apartment very safe, cars unfortunately only street parking (but maybe it's safe enough for Hermanus?). Lovely towels! Only and biggest drawback was the cold shower due to 'solar-geyser' system. For me it is unfortunately non-negotiable, I am 100% in favor of green energy, but there must be a 'back-up' system to make sure guests can have a hot shower or bath.
Steenbok House is definitely value for money. It is located in a perfect setting and is close to shopping centers as well as the sea. It's safe, peaceful and there is so much to do! Owner is also wonderful and friendly and easy to talk to. A place that can definitely be recommended.
We enjoyed our stay in Steenbok House so much. The hostess was excellent and made us feel so at home in Hermanus. She was simply our all-in-one during our time there. I would recommend this fantastic spot to anyone needing a peaceful getaway by the sea.
