64 guests' feedbackWe had a very nice stay.
We had a nice time. Corralee & Herman were very friendly and received us well. Thank you very much for the homemade beet - it was very tasty. Pieta is a very friendly dog - will come back again.
We enjoyed it very much. The tranquility, the sea, walk to the caves. Will definitely visit again. Thank you, have a nice day.
Unit was clean, tidy and well equipped. Very peaceful, beautiful surroundings. The people were very friendly and helpful.
It was nice and quiet at the houses, all the people were friendly and the destination was incredibly beautiful. The only downside to the location was that there wasn't much signal.
We had a really nice stay. The place was nice and clean with a lot of love that went into making it - you can see it! Walking distance from the beach, so nice to watch the sunset and stunning flowers everywhere! As a large group it was a bit difficult to get by with one toilet and we understood that there are two toilets of the layout. Maria who received us was very friendly, and it was a really nice place to stay!
It was fantastic. Such accommodating host and wife. We were even privileged to experience the Sishen/Saldanha train twice. Walked to the caves. Next time we want to try the rooms on that side.
Herman was a very friendly and helpful host. The house was clean and tidy, but unfortunately needs a lot of attention.
The time for loud music was 10 hours, but before that time if you play music, it is also a problem.
We couldn't sleep at all in the evenings, the neighbors on both sides of us were very noisy and played loud music until well after 10 o'clock in the evenings. There was also no WiFi as advertised, one has to walk to the main house to get WiFi.
A lovely breakaway, the kids loved the farm and the animals.
Interesting for the children and peaceful and quiet for me. The owners were amazing! They shared so much knowledge and sights with the children. I would definitely go back there! It was near the beach. Very spacious with a lovely large kitchen. We were a group of 13 and we never got in each other's way. It was also very affordable. Like I said, the owners were amazing. They were so accommodating and assisted us when we ran out of 'something' we needed. Lambertsbaai itself is a very special town. The people are friendly and definitely want us back next year.
Our stay was awesome. Our hosts were so helpful and welcoming, treating us as if we were family. The house we stayed in provided everything that we needed. We forgot to buy firewood and firelighters, but the tannie helped us out with that. She is very nice, and we loved some of the stories she told us. We could have my partner's birthday and they didn't mind the bit of joyful noise. This is an absolute well stay!
Quiet atmosphere and very good location. Will stay there again. Friendly owners.
Good without TV. More quality time. Wonderful stay.
Very surprising at how neat the place was. You don't always get that at vacation spots. Very harmonious atmosphere. Would book again anytime, especially Die Stal. People very, very friendly. I really like the local atmosphere.
It really was a fantastic place to visit. Our Sunday school children thoroughly enjoyed it. Steenbokfontein Sea Farm was the perfect place to accommodate our group. Children could play freely and the walk to the beach was part of the adventure. Place fully equipped for self-catering. Uncle and Corelee were perfect hosts and even took the children for a joyride in the back of his van. Children did not want to go home.
Our chalet 5 was one half of an old traditional farmhouse. The bedroom shares a door to the other half, which was also rented out. In our case, the other half was also rented out. The shared door is to the other half's living area where we had to deal with noisy neighbors until the early hours of the morning.
Comfortable and clean accomodation.
We had a great time, perfect way to get internet addicted teenagers away from computer games. They didn't want to come home at all. They could learn to drive a little there too. There was just too little time, we still wanted to go to the caves too.
Steenbokfontein Sea Farm Accommodation is a lovely unit on a Family Farm near the sea. We had a great stay and will go again in the future.
The weekend at Steenbokfontein was wonderful. On arrival, we were welcomed with great hospitality by the hostess and host and immediately felt at home. We stayed in units 4 and 5, which were perfect for our large group of 15 people and provided more than enough sleeping space and amenities for everyone. It is walking distance from the sea and only about 5 minutes drive from the town. I'm really looking forward to our next visit and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a little break from the city.
Very friendly welcome by owner. Good information shared about farm and surroundings. Centrally located with easy access. Old, nostalgic feeling on the farm.
Host and hostess are fantastic people. We felt at home. Friendly and helpful!
Quiet environment. The ideal getaway spot.
The facility is very clean and comfortable. The environment is very neat and refreshing. The staff is friendly, especially the uncle. Had trouble with wifi and load shedding is also a problem. The facility could pay some attention to backup for load shedding. Was a bit inconvenient especially at night. Management was a bit pushy about payment when the banking app gave problems, but then that was also sorted out and they assisted us to withdraw money. Felt like we weren't trusted. This is the reason for the low score with customer service. Furthermore, they gave us free rein to enjoy our weekend. You guys are great!
The accommodation is adequate for the purpose of visit. Unfortunately no cell phone signal and complicates necessary communication with business that needs to go on.
Friendly welcome. Was very helpful in solving our problem with our own 12 volt fridge. Clean and tidy.
The unit is nice and big and well laid out, there were a few things in the kitchen that could be updated but otherwise the stay was very nice. The farm has caves that can be explored which our child really enjoyed, ample space for walking and cycling. It's not too far from the sea or from the town. We really enjoyed the tranquility of the farm.
TV was out of order, we were not informed. Should have inquired myself.
Excellent accommodation very private and well located.
We loved our stay at Steenbokfontein. It is a short walk across the main road to the private beach, where we watched the sunset from the rocks every night. The chalet is fully equipped, spacious and neat. It was nice and cool when it was hot outside. The owners are welcoming and full of stories of the area. Tannie Kitta made us breakfast at the PlaasKombuis and regaled us with fascinating stories of shipwrecks, ancestors and ghostly caves! We visited the historic caves on the property and enjoyed exploring Lambert's Bay, as well. All our queries of where to fish, where to buy the best crayfish and even where to do our washing were quickly answered and everything was done to make our stay as pleasant as possible.
Make a visit to Lambertsbaai and Steenbokfontein part of your year's planning.
Well located. Lots to see on the farm.
Rich in history and enjoyed much hospitality. Will definitely visit again.
I would definitely recommend this accommodation to those who want to exchange the everyday noise of the city for the sound of breaking waves along this pristine coastline. Nothing is nicer than a crackling fire on your chalet's front porch with the backdrop of a West Coast sunset. Food for the soul.
When one of us received the accommodation's key from our host on Friday afternoon, she was told that there was an outstanding sum of R300. Later that evening, when we first got to our spot, the toilet had not been flushed - clearly it had been in use earlier in the day. There were also cobwebs on the walls and the extra toilet paper on the floor was full of dust. On Sunday morning, all three units (Chalets 1 to 3) had power out and we could hear the other guests complaining about it as well. At first we thought Lambertsbaai was experiencing load shedding, but the power in the town was on. When signing out, the power was still out and the host again spoke to one of our group about the R300 and told him that he would like the outstanding amount before they leave the premises. Not once did the host try to contact me - either via cell phone or email. Long story short, I called the host and said that according to the website, we owe Steenbokfontein R0.00. He checked on his computer and said he was terribly sorry for the 'misunderstanding' and that we should forget about the R300 - he now sees how the amount is detailed. Of all the places we have booked through the website, this was by far the worst experience.
We had a great time at home was wonderful. Was only disappointed because I can't see the sea as it shows in the picture. People have to drive 5 km to go to the sea.
Was kindly received and had a great time. Will visit again.
Lots of history about caves and much more.
Snorkeling between the rocks was a highlight and the walk through the labyrinth was food for the soul.
I enjoyed value for my money.
We had a nice stay at Steenbokfontein. The farm atmosphere is what we were looking for. It is not modern and nothing fits together in the house, but there were enough warm blankets for the cold evenings and the house was very clean and tidy. We didn't realize we needed to take towels and tea towels so that was a bit of a problem but other than that we had a good stay.
Our grandson found the old farm implements and the excavations at the caves very interesting and instructive. The grandfather dived successfully for lobster and the whole family enjoyed a different meal at Muisboskerm.
Everyone was looking forward to the weekend. And upon arrival, everyone was surprised. It was just the right place for the group to break away and find each other. The lawn was perfect for the games that were planned. We will definitely want to go again.
It was unusually warm but the beautiful sunset made up for the Eastern weather. Unit is spacious and functional but needs some attention, there was paint peeling and bathroom ceiling needs some work but overall we had a very nice stay. Plekkie was spotless when we arrived. And the location is beyond fantastic.
Well situated to explore Lamberts Bay and Elands Bay and surrounds. My only complaint is that I misunderstood the distance to the beach - it's about 500 m to get to the beach and you have to cross the R365. The photos are misleading - it looks like the property has direct access to the beach which is not true. I have a disabled child and it would have been nice just to let him walk on his own to play on the beach while keeping an eye from the stoep. Otherwise, clean, great value for money, very caring hosts, beautiful, unspoilt beach once you get there. No other complaints.
Very well-situated, near town and beach. Hosts very friendly. Accommodation fairly basic and advance notice that towels are not provided would have been appreciated.
Accommodation very clean and tidy, but simple. Daily basic cleaning services will help a lot. Bedding very colorful and in need of an upgrade. Had to ask for towels.
Steenbokfontein Seeplaas Sea Farm Accommodation offers an experience that everyone should experience once in their life. It's a farm environment with the sea within walking distance from your place of residence. Kitta and Herman's hospitality is something to experience and you get the opportunity to practically hear and experience the history of the farm. We had breakfast in the farm kitchen and it was an experience - bacon, eggs, sausage, home-baked bread and home-made jam and of course good coffee. I can recommend the place to someone who wants to get away from the hectic life we are all caught up in.
Of all the guest farms we have visited, this one is definitely at the top of my list. With Aunt Kitta and Uncle Herman as the two friendliest people, it was simply amazing. Aunt Kitta with all her jokes, humor and stories of history simply made it most interesting. I, who am not a hiker, walked miles and miles in the field, and just drank in the beauty of the flowers and scenery. I'm not even talking about the caves, it was terribly interesting to be able to view everything. God's Handicrafts that one cannot fake! Aunt Kitta and Maria's breakfast was out of the books. We are sorry we missed Monday's lunch. This farm will surely become our regular visit, also our piece of Heaven on earth, I couldn't ask for a better 60th birthday.
Friendly hostess. The accommodation has everything needed. If the visit had been a little later in the flower season, the surroundings would have been truly beautiful. Many thanks to Kitty.
The owners are warm people who make you feel very welcome, especially the breakfast and ghost story. Quiet atmosphere, very clean houses. Would recommend to anyone who just wants to rest.
This is the second time we have stayed at the Steenbokfontein farm and it was just as nice as the last time! Aunt Kitta, as well as Uncle Herman, are very hospitable and often stopped by and even walked with us to the sea to watch whales and told stories during a meal at the Farm Kitchen. The units themselves are neat, clean and well equipped for self-catering accommodation. Although the units are close to the road, it didn't bother at all - on the contrary, it's so quiet, you only hear the sea and Sishen-Saldanha train. Perfect for a quiet, switch-off getaway. Would definitely recommend to farm lovers and will definitely go back again!
The view and location of the apartment is perfect. If what is needed is a quick getaway or even a longer rest in the apartment. Also the options of going to look at the Boesman drawing or simply just walking on the beach are truly an experience.
For people who don't like the hustle and bustle, far enough from Lamberts Bay to relax in peace, close enough to drive quickly and find something in town.
Fantastic view and friendly people. Safe for the children too.
Absolutely fantastic location, right across beach and close to caves and flowers. Spiritual retreat! Reconnect with yourself.
So relaxing. Peaceful nature with the roar of the ocean in the background. We went to the caves, spent some time on the beach, visited the stalls, and the rest of the time just winded down. We will definitely go again. What an experience.
Farm, animals, sea, most beautiful sun bag, friendly people.
We only wanted some peace and that is absolutely what we got. We were 5 adults and were busy the whole time. It's a photographer's dream! Tannie Kita narrates the history of the farm with such passion. 10 days wasn't enough. We will certainly return as a family. Accommodation was clean and cozy.
Steenbokfontein is fantastic. I can recommend the farm to anyone. The people and area is fantastic, everything is just great. We cannot wait for our next visit. You definitely get a lot of value for your money.
