Was a nice getaway for the weekend.
Nice quiet place. You get what you pay for, nice location and quiet with few vagrants.
The host is very friendly, the unit is clean and well equipped. The washing machine is a big bonus.
We were in Steenbras for 4 days and had a great time. All basic necessities are there with nice braai facilities and a small garden which is ideal for pets. The washing machine is also a big plus. The beds are comfortable and the hanging wardrobes add to your comfort. Reception was excellent and Teresa is always available if anything is needed. I would love to stay there again.
Marks all over the roof from previous water leaks. Bathroom wasn't clean and needs the shower to be replaced.
For a couple it is great, but for more people it might be akward due to the unfavourable positioning of the bathroom. Also, you have to bring your own towels.
Only thing that bothered me a bit is that there is no oven or stove. Luckily we had a gas stove as we camped the night before. Other than that there is nothing we can complain about.
Privacy from bathroom window into the kitchen area and main bed in "living" room something to look at. A partitioning and closed up windows will be nice.
I saw no problem with house Steenbras, except that the chairs were broken, but at house Galjoen there was quite a lot. No hanging closet, no space even for a suitcase in the room, no draft of fresh air in room, which made it incredibly hot, stuffy and uncomfortable. The fan doesn't even make a difference. The bedroom window opens into the living area, which then also makes no draft through the room. The shower has no fan to draw out stuffiness. The place remains hot and stuffy. The toilet's window opens onto the kitchen across from the stove. No bowls to put salad in. The baking pan doesn't even fit in the dirty oven. Summary: Definitely not for sensitive guests.
Owner is great and we had anything we needed, we will definitely be back again. Great value for money.
