I had a very nice stay. But found out too late TV didn't work, but it wasn't the end of the world. Luckily they had WiFi so I watched Netflix on my phone.
One night's sleepover felt like a vacation! Most beautiful place! As a photographer I felt like I was in a photo paradise! Comfortable, clean, everything you need!

We had a very nice stay. The guest house is quiet and peaceful and one can enjoy a good night's rest despite the other guests' movements. We just slept there and didn't spend any time during the day at the guest house because we spent every day at the airport where our national championships were. If we return to Middelburg next year, we will definitely stay at the guest house again.

Upon our arrival we were kindly welcomed. The places are very neat and the nature is beautiful. The guinea fowl, springboks, bunnies and ducks created a peaceful atmosphere, we are nature people.

My teenage son and I spent one night at Sterkfontein Guesthouse after a sports event in Middelburg. The room was clean and tidy, with everything we needed. It is a beautiful setting, and we will definitely stay there again.

Curtains do not close the windows. Windows face incoming traffic, gate and parking.
It was a huge disappointment! Service: We booked room 12. When we arrived, we were greeted bluntly by the hostess because we were 15 minutes too early. After this we were then told that room 12 had been taken by other guests the night before. She said we could get room 5 and tried to "convince" us by saying room 5 had an aircon (which didn't interest us at all). When I went down an hour later to pay the balance, I also asked to speak to the hostess. She didn't even come out of her house and sent another employee. I explained that we were unhappy about the rooms as they were specifically booked that way. Her answer was to argue. Safety: the safety gate did not work, so he could only be pulled open. For reference: Room 5 is on the first floor, room 12 on the ground floor. Room 5's balcony looks down on the roof of the parking area with a view of the street, room 12 has a view of the swimming pool and is right next to the area where the springbok roam. We could also hear the gate opening and closing all night from room 5. Mistakes happen - one understands that. Our problem lies in the lack of professionalism. At no point did anyone from the guest house apologize to us for their mistake. We were not spoken to respectfully, and when we wanted to share our unhappiness, the hostess did not even come out of her house herself. The colleague she sent instead also put the blame elsewhere. Driving from the Cape on holiday and looking forward to nice accommodation, and then being treated like this, is unacceptable.

We slept over before taking part in the Loskop Marathon. Michelle was willing to give the room key after hours to one of us who could only drive out of Pretoria late. The rooms were well appointed, and the garden is beautiful.

Good value for money.
Although we received a friendly welcome, we were not happy with the stay. Our request was a room with a shower and a bed without footboards, as my husband is 1.9m tall. The room we were allocated, room 11, was apparently the best they could do as the other showers would be too low for my husband? The hostess explained that there were extra blankets in the closet. I asked for a top sheet, which she didn't know what it was, and then confirmed they don't provide it. Since there was no one in the morning that we could submit the complaints to, I am posting them here now. The mattress is very uncomfortable and very old. The blankets are very old and heavy, we couldn't use them. There are old wire hangers in the hanging closet. The shower's soap dispenser is dirty and rusted. The bathroom curtains are dull from the fabric. There is no sink plug, no light in the shower and the floor is not tiled. Looking at the other comments, it doesn't look like we were at the same guest house. With management attention, these deficiencies can be easily sorted out. The gardens are beautiful, and a shame that the room is not up to standard.
Well located near the central town but the beautiful scenery and surroundings create a little paradise where you can hear the owls calling at night.

Everything was neat and clean and beds comfortable. Everyone was hospitable and the property is very beautiful. Rooms are not soundproof so any outside noises could be heard in the room, so it's something to get used to.

The duvet is very tight. If you turn around you are open and it was bitterly cold. So you wake up to make sure you are there. There was no tea in the room. The boiler does not have an on/off button so you have to keep plugging it in and out of the wall. The wires to the boiler are open at the back and need attention.
