We stayed a lot, until the dog didn't want to go back. Just one thing, if it rains you will need a 4x4 to get in and out!

Enjoyable stay. The house is well equipped and spacious. The fireplace and pool table came in very handy with cold rainy weather.

Stone Castle was amazing, it was clean, comfortably furnished, the fact that 4 out of the 6 rooms have their own bathrooms makes it extremely comfortable. The two large rooms have full bathrooms, king-size beds and wood-burning stoves to keep them warm in the winter. The large porch that is closed on both sides makes you feel safe and the view is breathtaking. The pool isn't really walking distance, and the stables don't have horses in them, workers stay there, there are horses that roam free. Also, lots and lots of wildlife, and blue cranes. It is conveniently close to Dullstroom, the part of the dirt road before you turn into Dullstroom Estate has been looked after and is comfortable for normal vehicles. Although sports vehicles that are lower are not going to get there so easily. Within the estate there are cement paths. The DStv's power supply didn't work and there's no wifi or anything like that, it didn't bother us. There are two braai areas, and a lot of wood that has already been cut. I loved it, we all did, it was comfortable, convenient, big, it had everything one could need and for the large group we were, no one was ever underfoot.

This was a much needed break for our family. This big house has everything you need to unwind and reconnect with each other and nature. It is close enough to town if you want to spoil yourself at one of the many restaurants.

The house needs attention. Paint on walls is peeling off. Curtains are dirty and torn. The oven also needs attention.

I think they could really pay attention to the decor. The curtains are just hanging here and there. It looks bad. Most bedside lamps don't even have globes in them. One window is so rotten that they put toilet paper in it to keep the wind out. The sink in which to wash dishes is really creepy.

Beautifully furnished! Ticked all the tick boxes, suitable for a large group of people. The deck overlooking the beautiful estate with barbecue was a must on our list for Dullstroom and Stone Castle was not lacking here. The kitchen is immaculate and the rooms perfect for when you want to be a little secluded. I want to mention that the indication on the map is not correct. Chris helped us very well with the correct directions, but this will definitely have to be adjusted on the website, as the road as explained is impossible to drive and the gate is closed from that direction. I recommend using a GPS to Dullstroom Country estate (also the road to the golf course) and then from the main gate Stone Castle is number 8.

The house provides everything, well located, neat and clean. There was more than enough wood for the braai and fireplace - didn't have to buy or take any with. Had a problem with the chimney, but that was sorted out quickly. Just want to suggest that the curtain railings should get stoppers. The entire curtain comes off the railing when it is opened. Lovely place to get together with friends.

The house is very comfortably furnished and easily accommodates a large group of people without feeling cramped. With the necessary table tennis, snooker table, one can also keep the young crowd busy.

We visited Stone Castle as a group of friends, and found the house to be clean and tidy, the bedrooms were all large, and the bathrooms were exquisite. We had some cold weather while we were there, but were kept very warm with the fireplaces in lounge area as well as the bedrooms, and there was plenty of clean linen and blankets to keep us warm at night. The living area/kitchen area were spacious enough for all 8 of us to help each other cook and clean up after meal times. We had the best time at Stone Castle and cannot wait to go back!

Great option for family time. Convenient, well equipped. Great location not far from town, but far enough that you can get away from the city's hustle and bustle. The road into the estate is just terrible.

Stone Castle is located in a quiet development and it almost feels like you are on your own farm. Can recommend it. Cleaners are not directly linked to Stone Castle - watch out for long fingers!

We had a lovely time the only down side for me was that there where no darts in the games room as well as only 1 pool stick that was useable.

Very disappointing. The maintenance is very bad. The stove did not work properly nor did the dishwasher. A pane of glass nearly fell out of the window due to the window frame being rotten. Bed linen was not clean and no hairdryer was available. The access road I don't think has ever been graded! Would definitely not recommend it to anyone.

We were 10 friends who celebrated a birthday together at the weekend. The house is spacious, beautiful and very well equipped and there were various activities that everyone could enjoy.

Very nice big, spacious house, enough space for everyone. The fireplaces are a bonus, but there is underfloor heating too. Beautiful bathrooms, and kitchen. Oh yeah, and a tame ostrich by the back door. We had a wonderful stay, but the time at Stone Castle was too short.

Stone Castle definitely needs attention because there is equipment included in advertisement that was absent and the stove does not work completely. The drain pipes carry the water away very slowly. The entire living unit is full of spiders. The whole house needs some serious paint.

Descriptions on the website do not correlate with the actual condition of the establishment as it was probably compiled 10 years ago and never updated. The establishment or house is beautiful and has potential to give more luxury and is very peaceful, however it lacks proper maintenance and monitoring as well as controlled housekeeping. Housekeeping is horrible, linen and towels were dirty and stinking. The kitchen dishtowels were dirty and stinking, one had to wash them thoroughly before using them and one had to also wash the bed linen on day 5 because it was not changed. The dishwasher and dryer were broken and not functional. The TV in the basement was not working as was indicated on the establishment's advetisement that it is working. On enquiry we discoverd that the basement TV monitor and cable were struck by lightning more than 2 years ago. The basement was so dusty and unkept and full of crawling insects. The saddest part is that our children got sick due to using the pool table in the basement which was filthy and dusty. The swimming pool in the clubhouse was not cleaned or properly mantained. The headboard lamp was not working at all in one of the bedrooms and it's wires were exposed and not insulated. There were no keys for some of the doors leading outside. There were no curtains in the toilets and in the bedrooms the curtains were filthy. The caretaker made it clear that the property owner was responsible and not him.

We really enjoyed Stone Castle! The location was "great" and the weather also cooperated (very foggy and cold for the fireplaces).

We were a group of 12 staying together for 2 nights. The house was comfortable and the surroundings beautiful. We would definitely recommend it if the visit is about togetherness.
