Through the double doors, there is a covered patio with outdoor seating and a Weber braai as well as a sunny patio with a table and chairs under an umbrella. Guests can fully relax on the patio with a morning coffee or a sundowner while admiring the surrounding farm and mountains.
Strathwold Farm offers various hiking trails, mountain biking, bird watching and game viewing such as eland, golden wildebeest, waterbuck, impala, sable, blesbok and a resident giraffe. Guests are also welcome to row on the 2 dams on the farm.

Our stay was lovely. It's peaceful and quiet, and I definitely wish we could have stayed longer. The dirt road to get there is quite bumpy, but we managed fine. Will definitely be coming back in the future. Moms' getaway for the win.

My wife and I had a great stay. The house is very neat and clean. The chickens had fun hanging out with us on the porch. The farm is very beautiful and well maintained. Lara and Gideo were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back again!

We were warmly received by Lara. Cottage is luxurious with everything you need. Elegant home with finest crockery and tableware that few other places provide. The room was cozy with comfortable bed and easy chairs. There are electric blankets and a heater in the room. The lovely fireplace was our highlight and plenty of wood is provided. Furthermore, the "coffee press" and coffee are much appreciated. We will stay longer next time.
Lara is a most attentive host and went out of her way to give us a truly warm welcome. Her B&B is elegantly decorated, very comfortable and met all our needs beyond expectation. It was hard to leave such a beautiful place, and we did so feeling rejuvenated and our souls restored. Thank you!
We stayed overnight and really enjoyed all aspects of this accommodation, especially the fireplace with its supply of wood for the chilly evening. The peaceful surroundings and views and the sounds of the farm animals returning to their sheds for the night rounded off an ideal stay. The only negative aspect is parts of the dirt road to the cottage were in a very poor state. Take it very slow and enjoy the destination!
The cottage is beautiful. The grounds around the cottage are in urgent need of clearing. All sorts of old things and old building materials lie just behind the cottage. Workers stay in old horse stables at the cottage. They were calm, but I would have preferred it differently. Good luck with your rebuilding, we realize it takes time. I would like to see how you have progressed in a year.
The cottage is absolutely gorgeous. Beautifully furnished. Bring some DVD's and extra reading material or games. The road requires a bit of a high rise as the road from the freeway is truly farm road.
