I needed to rest and that is exactly what I had. A peaceful and quiet stay.
I find with some places that the hostess does not have their phones handy when the guests arrive and that is a big frustration. One sits outside the gate and calls and calls, but they do not answer. It's also not safe to hang around like that outside in the street. Please make it a strict point and stress that the host/wife have their phones where they can answer. Anything can go wrong and then you need the host urgently. Also when I checked out I couldn't contact her again. I can't just drive out and throw the key over the fence! This was the case here and also at my previous stay last September.
Enjoyed our stay. Beautiful view of harbour and ocean. Excellent location to explore the area. Will visit again.

There is a condition to my recommendation. Find out if the dog will have enough space to play/run around a bit. I was there with my GSD and space I had to confine it to was minutely small with no grass to wee on.
The accommodation was just as described in the ad, and we are very happy with what we got.
The view was beautiful and everything we expected.
The house was spacious. Braai facilities were good. It's just that we couldn't find the swim section by the sea.
Storm Petrel is a comfortable place close to everything, nice view, would like to visit again but in winter.
The owner, Johan, warmly welcomed us and gave a neat overview of St Helena Bay. The sheltered braai has witnessed a man who knows the prevailing winds. No better place than Storm Petrel if you want to braai outside with a view of the sea!
Very nice stay, the owners are very friendly and helpful. The accommodation has space to rest and is well equipped with all the necessities. Close to everything you will need.

The advertisement and pictures are very misleading. On 2 different websites, pictures show three bedrooms. There are only two bedrooms and the other "room" is couches that pull out. Extremely uncomfortable as the couches are in the front door area. No privacy for the person who sleeps there. I suggest the photos be reviewed and remove the misleading 3rd bedroom.
At first I was disappointed, the photos on the website are of the other apartment that the owners also advertise, but after I cooled down and calmed down because it was not what I had in mind, I experienced the tranquility of the cottage. It's a place to get away from the busy city life and to spend time with your family, barbecue meat, fill in crossword puzzles and just chat. The sea view is picture perfect from the harbor and definitely a place I would recommend.

Quiet, peaceful and very safe.
Neat, clean, quiet, and it has everything you need. The people are friendly. It is close to shops and other small towns such as Paternoster.
The host's puppy that comes to visit the unit dampens my longing for my own puppies at home. Everything feels homely and like a "home away from home".
Garbage bin in the kitchen was dirty and smelly. Microwave oven had to be cleaned first before we could use it. Bedding was not fresh. Towels were inadequate. We cannot recommend the place at all. Not value for money as everything appeared dirty.
Johan is an excellent host. Early in the morning when we had to check in, he already called me and asked what time he could expect us. The apartment is neat and well furnished. It is now a real family, visiting apartment. The braai place is located on the stoep and overlooks the sea and harbour. The whole setting is beautifully laid out and private. St Helena Bay is a peaceful holiday village and we enjoyed every moment of our stay. Storm Petrel we will see a lot more.
What a very nice residence. It was all great. The owner is very friendly. If I can get my husband to like that side of our country, next time I would like to stay not just one night, but at least more than a week. They deserve all the stars. Thank you very much!
Please note that the braai grid is completely bent and difficult to use. It needs to be replaced. The coffee and sugar were completely unusable (hard as a rock).
Had a little trouble finding the place, but was made to feel welcome and the view was beautiful. The factory can sometimes make the air unpleasant, but the environment makes up for it. The place is neat. Can definitely recommend it and will go back again!
