The double-storey house comprises 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, and a lounge area. Two of the bedrooms are on the ground floor, one of which has a queen-size bed and the other a double bed and a single bed. The rooms share the use of a separate bathroom with a shower and a toilet. The loft room is furnished with 3 single beds and a double bed. Guests make use of a separate bathroom with a shower and a toilet. Guests please need to bring their own swimming towels. The patio is undercover and has stacked windows and doors that are closed to protect from the rain and wind.
The large, open-plan kitchen is equipped with a gas stove, a microwave, a fridge and freezer, as well as tea- and coffee-making facilities. Guests can relax in the lounge, and make use of the indoor braai area.
The living area opens onto a stoep with an undercover braai area, and overlooks the ocean. Parking for 4 vehicles are provided. Unfortunately, pets cannot be accommodated.
Struisbaai offers various activities such as fishing, swimming, kayaking, surfing and kitesurfing, as well as whale watching between July to August. Guests can also take the short 4 km drive to L'Agulhas to see the Quoin Point Lighthouse, the Cape Agulhas Lighthouse Museum, or explore the various hiking trails in the area; Spookdraai Hiking Trail or Rasperpunt Hiking Trail.

StruisVogel is well equipped, even in load shedding. Joy is very friendly and efficient, and we really enjoyed our time in StruisVogel. The only thing that didn't work during load shedding was the WiFi. The friendly tortoises were a bonus. I highly recommend this accommodation. Thank you Joy for a lovely stay.
The beds are nice and firm, and don't forget the warm tub. It's cosy, and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. It's situated in a very quiet and safe area, and I will recommend the place anytime. The house was very nice and had everything. We didn't have to look for anything, everything was in the right place for us to reach. It was absolutely wonderful. The house is stunning and caters very well for the 10 people. Splash pool is a must and we used it day and night. All round beautiful and stunning house.
Very well equipped. Neat and well spaced. Aircon would work nicely in there, especially in summer. Nicely located near shops and 10 min from the beach. Kids had fun with tortoises coming to visit and some wildlife. Overall, very nice. Loved it. Will definitely come back.

Fantastic, quiet neighborhood and the beach lovely. Hot tub outside incredibly delicious and relaxing. Got nice wood and enjoyed the fireplace.

StruisVogel is the ideal place for the 8 of us. I especially like that the wood-fired hot tub is covered and by the braai. The winter sun shines deliciously there. Well equipped with everything.

Would definitely recommend anyone to hire Ostrich. The house was very very neat and had everything that was needed. WiFi was fast, TV and music center kids really enjoyed. Would recommend anyone to rent the house. Owner was very helpful and very friendly.
It's a very nice house and is big enough and there is everything you need, just take food and clothes with you and then your own beach necessities. Was just a little scary for the kids at the stairs in the house, but we will definitely go again. The hot tub on the porch was a bonus. The children swam all weekend.

We had a great stay and the children really enjoyed the pool. Focus should go on the beds that already feel old. Also recommended to change towels for vacationers every few days. Furthermore, it was great and we enjoyed it immensely! Will come back again.
The stairs are a bit wide apart, not child friendly, no curtains or blinds in front of the main windows, but otherwise very nice.
It is a very nice holiday home. My dad and kids enjoyed it. There is no satellite TV as mentioned on the LS website, but we cast from a tablet. We made a big fire to get the hot tub warm. Will definitely go again.

The stay was awesome, I arrived a bit early and spoke to the establishment and they had me book in a bit earlier at no extra cost. The place and where it is located was very nice and the stuff that was available inside the house was unexpected, but much appreciated. Everything was perfect. Loved the hot tub.
This was our second visit to Ostrich. The enclosed porch is a great improvement and completely removes the cold from the porch. The zinc bath that has been replaced with the built-in bath is also a lovely treat. The house is well equipped. The fact that the house runs on gas for hot water and the stove makes a big difference especially with the power outages. We will definitely visit Ostrich again.

StruisVogel is very clean and tidy inside and out, there is a lovely, large lawn after, with braai facilities, for outdoor as well as indoor braai. Most of us spent more time in the hot tub. The WiFi was also great, fast without any problems. Many thanks to Joy-Marie and husband Johan.

The accommodation is very neat and clean. We had a great time.
My mom appreciated the flowers very much. The only suggestion is to maybe get a top sheet, as it was very hot and the duvets made it feel even hotter. It was a very pleasant stay had by all.

We had a wonderful stay at StruisVogel. We received detailed instructions on how to get to the house, and how everything worked. And any questions we did have were answered so helpfully and fully (even late at night when we first arrived). We felt very well looked after by the hosts. The venue itself was lovely. We enjoyed the inside and outside braai places, and we all enjoyed the hot tub with a view! Making your own fire inside the tub was just so much fun, and when it rained we could all sit cosy on the stoep looking out at the rain in the lovely warm water. There was also lots to do in the area. We loved the restaurants on the beach, and visited the Southern Most Tip of Africa twice! The house is fully stocked with everything you might need, and there wasn't a moment when I needed something that wasn't there. We could make jaffels, braai and even did potjie one evening. There was also a big TV with both DSTV and Netflix, so the kids were happy when we needed them entertained too. We highly recommend StruisVogel!
