9 guests' feedbackSugar Beach 5A has the perfect location. You can watch the ships waiting to go in the harbor and we were lucky enough to see whales. It overlooks the main beach, and has a lovely balcony with sofa, sun loungers and dining table, making it almost unnecessary to bother sitting on the sand unless you want to swim. There's no time for staying up late, because you'll soon hear the lifeguard's whistle blowing, but who wants to stay up late with a view like that? The house is minimalist in terms of furniture, but there is everything you need including good WiFi if you need to catch up on work as well as DStv with limited channels. Air conditioning throughout the apartment. Unfortunately the washing machine didn't work properly so when we wanted to do laundry it was a mess as water wouldn't drain. The tumble dryer didn't dry our clothes either, and we had to pack damp laundry for our flight. The living room sofa could do with a good cleaning. What would be fantastic is a beach umbrella for guests flying in as it is impossible to bring your own umbrella and the sun gets hot on the beach. Amazing pizza place just diagonally below apartments. Will definitely visit again!

Sugar Beach 5A is very nicely situated, 10 min drive to the airport makes it an awesome winter break if coming from Cape Town or Johannesburg. Beds are all very comfortable and Wi-Fi great.
We enjoyed our stay, but the flat had a lot of faults that were never repaired. The key collection was a nightmare.

Enjoyed our stay very much. I recommend taking the warning about the monkeys seriously. Not a nice experience to return and find a huge mess.
We stayed as a family in 3 of the units in Sugar Beach for my Mother's 72nd birthday. No one told us ahead of time that they were doing maintenance work at the building. From early in the morning there was hacking and commotion, with pieces of construction debris falling down from above the "scaffolding". Furthermore, the lift broke - and to top it all off, the stairs were also full of "scaffolding". Needless to say, it was with great difficulty that we had to get to the top of our apartment with the children's prams and even worse - my poor elderly parents who had to struggle up and down the stairs through the "scaffolding". The right thing for Sugar Beach to do is to close reservations for the period that maintenance is being done. It is dangerous and deeply disturbing. The workers were working right against our room windows. Unit 5A was also dirty when we arrived. There were long hairs on the bedroom floor, the cutlery and glasses were dirty, and there were candy wrappers on the living room sofas. Furthermore, the washing machine did not work. We could catch 1 channel on DStv so left it instead. There are no instructions on how to use the DVD player.
Was an absolute pleasure to stay in Sugar Beach. Excellent service, well serviced and clean! Great facilities and amenities in the spacious unit. The views are amazing and the beach is a short distance away - well within walking distance to the rock and tidal pools.
