Thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing stay at Sugarlands Cottage. We were able to watch the rugby and braai. The view is awesome and there are lovely restaurants and coffee shops nearby! It was a perfect little getaway for my fiancé and me.
Kate is a very pleasant hostess, very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the farm sounds and the dam just as much. Would recommend the nice clean place.

The unit had everything you needed, clean sheets and toilets. Nothing to complain about. The birds in the dam were awesome, darters, greater grebes, and dabchicks, as well as red-knobbed coots, and we shall not forget the owls. Brilliant!
Absolutely lovely spot next to a beautiful dam. Early morning passing parade of birds, otters, horses, cows and sheep. Peaceful, homely cottage. Will definitely be back. Good restaurant - Fabels, close by. Attentive and friendly hosts. Thoroughly enjoyed our stopover.

Magical is an understatement. We could not find any fault with anything. Kate was fantastic and made us feel right at home. The cottage was so clean and the beds were perfect. It was definitely food for my soul. 10 out of 10, would definitely recommend.

The hostess is a pleasant. friendly person, helpful and accommodating.
The working farm with sheep was a bonus for the children. They are dog friendly, even our 3 sheepdogs were welcome. Very nice area and well located.
The most peaceful stay we have had. The bass dam is but a stone's throw away from the front door. The cottage is spacious and clean and had everything we needed. Our host Kate was so friendly and accommodating. There are some lovely coffee shops nearby too. We can't wait to go back.
Kate contacted us early the morning we had to check in to let us know we could check in at any time. Map sent of how to drive with the road that is closed. Also came to introduce herself and sent us exactly when the power was going to be out.

Hostess Kate called before our arrival to find out what time we would arrive. Place was very well equipped, extremely clean and tidy. Fireplace with wood and fire lighters, enough milk, tea and coffee for Africa, gas stove in case of load shedding, nice view of pond. Large shower with hot water, comfortable bed with quality mattress. The cottage is safe and the environment is good for the soul. calm and safe. We were personally welcomed and left with an appreciated gift of cauliflower and broccoli grown on the farm. We will definitely use Sugarlands Cottage again.
We only had a very short one-night stay at Sugarlands Cottage but it was idyllically beautiful with all the facilities we needed, even at peak times. Lovely fireplace and heaters for the cold winter days and evenings, boiling hot water in geysers, beautiful view of pond, peaceful farm life with sheep. Kate was a perfect hostess.

Wonderful, had an amazing time.
It is a stunning place where one will find peace of mind. We were received so kindly and received the best service. Very good location and our dogs really enjoyed it.
The house is comfortably furnished and the view on the dam beautiful. We were entertained with birdsong and a chorus of frogs. Nice farm atmosphere with animals around you and very close to nice places to eat. We really enjoyed the 2 days there.

This is the right place for a weekend getaway. There is room for a whole family. Everything you need for self care is there. I stayed there for a weekend during a business trip.
We really enjoyed our stay at Sugarlands Cottage. It is so peaceful there, with the most beautiful view from the veranda. Unfortunately, we only spent the night on our way back to the North West, but I believe a few days of visiting there will definitely recharge your batteries again. The Cottage is fully equipped, wonderfully cozy and homely. Kate is very friendly. I can definitely recommend Sugarlands Cottage.

The sounds of the birds, of water lapping, of sheep baaing and tractors grinding. The sound of peace. I loved this farm cottage on the Curry's Post road, with views over the Karkloof. A central base for the KZN Midlands, easy to access and secure. A TV for company, fire for warmth and a dam to cool off in. What more could one wish for? Good price and friendly hosts!
