A very comfortable self-catering unit near the Hartenbos Waterfront. Security gate to and from the lobby. Security personnel in the surrounding area near the parking area where the vehicles park. No lockable gate where cars park. We had a lovely weekend and will definitely stay there again in the future.
The condition of the room was not up to standard. The bathroom in particular needs a lot of attention. I also recommend that no smoking be allowed in the general barbeque area. Gate codes must also be given on arrival, as we had to ask the residents for help when we wanted to enter and the gate was already locked.
We had no aspect from our room. It looked out on a grey wall with a washing line. The room was very cramped. We had to eat in a communal courtyard. At night you had people talking and cooking their meat 2 metres in front of your room. We asked for secure parking. We had a parking spot in front of the establishment but it was open to a public road.
Walking distance. Clean room. Great front view of the sea. My 2nd stay here, before in 2019. Will definitely return. DSTV available.

The beauty of the area is worth the visit.
Was close to activities. My kids really enjoyed it. Everything is walking distance, shops and everything. To drive around Mossel Bay itself; there is a lot to do and to keep you busy. The hot pool was just not as hot as thought it would be, but it was nice to spend time in the pool.
Units are well equipped. Nicely centrally located. Friendly service! We will definitely stay there again.
A place like Suidersee shouldn't say they allow kids because children are not allowed to make noise. Otherwise, you get a fine and they are not allowed to kick a ball or ride a bike. It's no use making a booking at a place just so that someone can make business out of me. Then you get a rude WhatsApp message from the owner asking why you can't discipline your kids as they have received a lot of complaints. I asked him what the complaints were about, but I'm still waiting for a response. Also, there are photos of my child standing on the tiled part of the braai area (we were braaing Saturday night), but according to the owner, my child was heating the tiles with a steel pipe. In the photos, you don't see that, and I told him that my child didn't hit the tiles and he didn't have a steel pipe. It was wood that he found there and he moved it. I can clearly remember that. And why should I discipline my child if it's innocent child's play? I phoned the owner Saturday night, but he didn't answer and he also didn't call me back. So, what if I had an emergency? Also, on Friday night, I phoned him three times, but he didn't answer. He eventually called back. He has the load shedding schedule, but he didn't even give it to us. But rest assured, that will be the last time I book at Suidersee.
Not feeling safe. Door could not close. Reported it but was not responded to. Generator did not work during load shedding.
We enjoyed our stay. The only thing is the room had few wardrobes only in the main room. The other room with single beds, space too small even to walk in between the beds. we ended up using the bunk beds for the luggage space. . If the curtains in the sliding door can have blinds or black out especially for the night time. when the light is on, its quite awkward to be visisble to someone who parks a car or walking in the street. . I wish next time is i do visit the place, all costs can be declared upfront. I made two payments and thought that was all i would pay and only to learn that the agent overlooked the additional amount that I had to pay for the breakage. It was an inconvenience to learn it at that time. . if the facility can make provision for early check in. Our bus arrived at 10h00. If special flexible check in can be made where applicable and if not, courtesy be arranged to leave our luggage in a storage room and not just in an open space. It was for me very degrading.
Good location, close to shopping center and ATKV activities. Booking by email and WhatsApp communication before arrival was easy, but the customer service after arrival leaves a lot to be desired. Broken bathroom door was reported on arrival, but no repair or arrangement until departure.
On the 1st night, a cupboard door falls off. The shower doesn't work and we have to bathe while we are all used to showering. The drawers of the chest of drawers struggle to open and close, get stuck. The seats of the bar stools are loose, had to tighten them myself. The power point next to the bed was loose from the wall and not working. More cabinet doors were loose and would fall off, just didn't use them. Soap dispenser next to bathtub was not fixed. The maintenance on the unit we stayed in was very poorly done and I told all my friends and everyone who wanted to know about it. Will remember the place forever for poor maintenance, not worth the money to stay there.

The stove's manual is the wrong one for the model that is in the apartment. It was the same in the case of one of our friends. Was a hassle to use and later boiled water in microwave.

We really had a great time. The unit we were in was nice and clean. It's walking distance to everything that matters and the whole experience was positive. Everyone we dealt with there was also friendly and welcoming. The fabric of the sofa bed somehow sheared by accident, without either of us knowing the exact cause, we reported it and they were very sensible about the matter.
Breakaway long weekend was good. Refreshing. Relaxing. Feeling zest for life again.

Apart from 2 cases where matrics got out of hand, Grand handled it well. Half a roll of toilet paper. No iron. Other than that, we really can't complain and will be staying there again in December 2022.

We stayed in number 1. The unit was neat and clean. Has a small kitchen with everything needed. There is a TV with DSTV channels. The shower is in the bath, which is not that convenient, but that didn't put us off. It is very central, close to the beach and walking distance to the theme park, eateries and Pick n Pay. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely stay there again.

The washing up liquid and drying cloth a bonus - I forgot mine! The bath and shower are very narrow and very uncomfortable to use. Bathing with the shower's spaces is impractical. Remove the plate with the brackets from the wall. Otherwise there are no complaints.

Was the perfect overnight stop on the way to the Cape. But will also be able to stay there for a longer period. They made a lot of effort for us because we also traveled with a stroller, there was a parking lot open and they arranged for us to park it there.

They may need to do minor repairs, such as a door handle that is still broken, etc. but this is the least, since I really have to think of something negative to say, because there is really little negativity. South Sea is a quiet place close to the sea. We enjoyed walking to where we wanted to be without worrying about our belongings in the apartment. Thank you very much for the friendly reception and the clean, neat apartment.
Towels are not standard. Understand that beach towels are your own responsibility, but expect bath towels to be included. Little more detergent and equipment such as scouring pads will help to clean the room again. Had to buy it myself.

Everything was right and beautiful. Had to call for towels. It is not provided. It might just have to be mentioned ahead of time. Children's room (bunk bed) door does not close. I would personally prefer if a washable bathroom rug could be used. Furthermore, we enjoyed the overnight stay.

From the day I made the reservation, the service was great and prompt! The accommodation was comfortable, clean and safe. The bedding and crockery were of good quality and the great location near the sea, theme park and shopping center made our stay easy.
The only problem we had was that there were 5 children who made a lot of noise and kicked a rugby ball around while we tried talking to each other and spending time with other people. We had to constantly protect our glasses. They throw the ball around and also damage the plants. But otherwise it was very nice thanks.

We were 5 adults vacationing there. Our stay at Suidersee was very nice. It was clean and tidy. What bothered us (every day there was construction and repair work done at the complex and the builders had to move past our living room, bedroom and bathroom windows) the reception staff sorted out for us and we appreciate their kindness and helpfulness. We would recommend Suidersee to anyone.

This little place is fully equipped with all the necessities. Neatness was excellent. Friendly staff. Recommendations from my side: Coffee or tea will be nice after a long trip. I know it's a self-catering place but these little extra things really go a long way. The rooms weren't that soundproof. We could clearly hear everything happening in the other room and scullery. The toilet had a leak and the shower head's fitting was loose! Otherwise it was cosy.
Unfortunately our flat had water problems. When we were in the shower the water will just stop. This was very unconvenient.

Little apartment was very neat, but little things lacked which made the stay "uncomfortable". There was [1] no dining room table and [2] the fridge door closed in the wrong direction (was difficult to place items inside) and [3] no place for clothes in the bathroom (we had to put it on the ground).
Would have appreciated if they told us beforehand that it's a room and not an apartment. Was very small. Just a room with a separate bathroom.
Number 8 is not suitable for 4 adults. No privacy. Suitable for 2 adults and 4 children. Very noisy.

I would like to thank each and every person from Suidersee for the most wonderful experience of my life. From the very beginning I received the friendliest service and encountered the most helpful people. Nothing was too much for them to do. We moved into house number 13 and from the moment we entered the house, we felt at home. The house is equipped with the most tasteful furniture and no stone is left unturned to make one's stay a unique experience. Many, many thousands of thanks to everyone at Suidersee and at LekkeSlaap for an indescribable, wonderful weekend we spent there. We are already making plans to go back there early in the new year and can't wait to make our home at Suidersee again. The tranquility brought a calmness over us that was absolutely wonderful. I recommend South Sea to everyone anytime. The apartments are well maintained. The premises are also kept tidy on a daily basis. The staff are all very friendly. Suid See is perfectly located. It is very central.
We had a very nice stay. Staff went out of their way to be helpful and give us advice. The laundry service they offer is great. The apartment is well planned and equipped with all necessities. Hot water always available. The security is great. It is only a few meters from the beach and all the shops, restaurants and other facilities within walking distance. We will definitely go back again.

Suidersee 18 is a fantastic place to just relax because everything is comfortable, clean and close to everything. The braai area on the roof is lovely if you want to entertain guests. The safety of our car was not sure though seeing as how I didn't see any security guards around. The safety of the rooms or unit is excellent. Our geyser was unfortunately faulty because there was a problem with the switch, with the result that we had to shower in cold water! Not ayoba! I trust they will repair it. Otherwise fantastic!

Suidersee has the perfect location - close to the beach, and it will (when construction is finished) be right by all the action as well. The water slide is right across the road. The unit is well equipped, clean and very good value for money.

Very hot with no air-conditioning or breeze as vibracrete is less than 1 meter from bedroom window with washing line for everyone's use, no privacy. As it was in summer holidays, with very humid and hot days, I found the apartment extremely hot with not enough air circulation. 1 fan in bedroom was not in good working condition at all. Well equipped, neat etc. but shower curtain in bath clings to you when showering. There is a small courtyard with braai facilities, again no breeze as only open 1 side (entrance). No privacy, as minimum 6 apartment opened up in small courtyard with doors and windows of neighbours within 1 meter of own sliding door, hence could not leave open without people in courtyard looking in. All conversations in courtyard can be heard, so no sleeping late.
Flats can be cleaned everyday. Renovations were interruptive.
Would prefer separate shower and hanging space for clothes.
The accommodation was unpleasant. Suidersee should alert guests that the people next door are building. Late Friday night they were still building. Then Saturday morning 05:00 the knocking, breaking and building continued until once again late Saturday night. Then Sunday morning it started up again at 06:00 and we immediately packed up and left. I didn't get the weekend's peace and quiet that I've come to know from Hartenbos. I reckon Suidersee could have warned us ahead of time, but no, avarice was the order of the day. I will not stay there again and I am so sorry that I spent money on such a weekend. Nobody pays money to have an experience like that.
Very neatly equipped with everything needed to be away from home. Nobody bothered us and the area is very central. Will definitely come back again.

We really enjoyed the place, close to everything. There is just hopelessly too little space for luggage. Had to leave bags in car to be able to walk and move around apartment. There were only 3 of us in the 4 bedroom and it's really just too cramped. Very inappropriate that everyone has to walk through the master bedroom to go to the bathroom. So no one could really use the room because there was always someone in the toilet or shower or bath. We were only 3 girls but if hubby had come along, he would have had to sit outside the whole time because the bathroom windows shine through so it's not private enough. Wasn't nice to be so close to the neighbors. People behind us make noise until what time in the night. You can't open your windows or blinds, then you look into the neighbors' house or they look into your kitchen and bathroom. You will have to invest in air conditioning, because it's just too small and no air coming through because the windows have to be closed. Otherwise, our visit in Hartenbos itself was very nice.
We booked into Suidersee for a one night stopover on our way home from Cape Town to Durban. We are a family of four with two small children. I can imagine that a person could have a holiday here but for a single night's stopover it was not ideal. Your privacy is very limited as all the flatlets look out into a shared courtyard. I felt like I was constantly shooshing my children for fear of disturbing the other guests. The unit also never provided tea/coffee/sugar/milk, for an overnight stay you really look forward to a cup of coffee/tea after a day's travel. There were also no towels provided which would have been nice because we had to use the towels which we had with us and that meant travelling with wet towels which is not ideal. Parking was also off street which was frustrating because we had to bring everything inside out of the car because we were not sure of the safety of the vehicle and vehicle contents with it parking on the road.
No towels. Shocking.
The bed is very, very weak. No man can sleep on such a bed. I have a lot of workers for whom I provide accommodation. I won't even give them a bed like that to sleep on. We had to pay December's rate which included the cleaning of the accommodation. The day we arrived they were still cleaning. The next day they cleaned the whole place in 3 minutes and then never again. The bath, sink and toilet are hand painted. The shower barely works and the water spreads all over the floor.
We enjoyed staying there, everything was neat and beautiful.
It is walking distance from the popular Hartenbos beach. Pieter and I really enjoyed our stay at Suidersee. The self-catering unit was spotless with beautiful decor. The receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly. I would recommend that for 100% satisfaction air conditioning can be installed as unit 12, which we lived in, gets the afternoon sun and was therefore very hot. The ceiling fan worked the whole time to cool us down. The unit was extremely well equipped, with even an ironing board. I appreciated that my car could be parked directly at the entrance to my apartment. Also the fact that the unit is only about 100 meters from one of the most popular beaches. The loud music from the amusement park could be disturbing for certain vacationers. I would definitely highly recommend Suidersee and it is a place to stay that I will return to.
The accommodation was furnished with attention to detail and maintenance. It is conveniently located within easy walking distance from the hype of activity in Hartenbos. But off the main road for some peace and quiet. Crisp, clean and also friendly staff. I will recommend it to my friends any day and return there myself to stay if the opportunity comes along again.

R1 790R1 790R1 343Accommodation at Suidersee, Hartenbos comprises 20 apartments, which range from 2 to 6 sleepers. Each flat is fully and uniquely furnished, equipped with either 1 or 2 bedrooms, with an open-plan living area that may have additional sleeping amenities in a few. Facilities also included in each apartment are a well-equipped kitchen and a TV that has a DVD player and selected DStv channels, with many of the units containing private braai areas.
Suidersee, Hartenbos also offers a communal area that has neat seating arrangements and additional braai facilities, which guests can use for socializing. Parking is available for vehicles on the premises.
The property is within close proximity to the beach, a putt-putt course as well as heated swimming pools at other resorts, hiking trails, Hartenbos Waterpark, and much more.
SUIDERSEE BLOCK 1 consists of apartments 1 to 12 and is on the corner of 1 Groenkop Street and Magersfontein Avenue Hartenbos.
SUIDERSEE BLOCK 2 consists of apartments 13 - 20 and are on the corner of 5 Doringkop Avenue and 11 Magersfontein Avenue Hartenbos
No social groups are allowed unless they book all 12 Suidersee Block 10 Apartments
No parties unless otherwise arranged with the management.
