We had a very nice stay, except for the following: The generator did not kick in on Sunday morning. We had to leave early and therefore could not take a shower. Management offered no apology or reason. Our friends in no. 7 had no hot water. The requirement to first inspect the room during check-out is not perceived well. No other guest house has required this from us over the past three years. Management has received our details. Other guesthouses offer two bottles of water (about 300 ml) free of charge. Here we had to pay R20. No water in the fridge. For the price being asked, the above cases are a disappointment.
We only stayed one night. The customer service was excellent and the accommodation very neat and comfortable. They went out of their way to accommodate us. Breakfast was delicious.

We were very disappointed that there is no generator at this Country House. We had no power (lights or aircon). February in Limpopo is incredibly hot, which is exactly why we were prepared to pay much more for this luxury accommodation than for other guesthouses in the area. We invited friends over for the weekend and were very disappointed that we recommended Summerset Place to them.
The staff is above average. The rooms and resort are tastefully and thoroughly cared for. The breakfast is off the books. David the chef is tops with his barbecue.

What a beautiful guest house with great and friendly, unbeatable service by the host and hostess and staff. A lovely place, everything very well kept. Some other mid-range (cost) lodges in the Bela Bela area have let their cleanliness standards slip of late, but this does not apply to Summerset Lodge for sure. The grounds are also immaculate. It's a good place to chill out with your partner, but also fairly quiet, so if you are the rowdy type needing lots of people around you and plenty of activities then Summerset is not for you. I don't have kids, but the owner could add more activities for kids if he would like to attract more families. Good quality place.

A stylish guesthouse. The porch overlooks the beautiful tree-rich garden. In the peaceful surroundings one is aware of nature. The staff is particularly helpful and friendly. The beautiful, beautiful guest house is definitely recommended.
We had a great time at home, were received kindly and the rooms are spacious, large and pleasing to the eye. Would love to stay there again anytime. All that didn't go well was the breakfast, although tasty and a large variety, we were a group of 8 people who couldn't eat together, each one received a plate of food every 5 to 10 minutes, with the result that some were already finished eating then the rest were still waiting for the food. Other than that everything was very pleasant!
15 days cancellation period is too long, I wonder if any of the guests that can be recommended can adhere to it. I suggest that this be looked at and the possibility of reducing it to 5 days be considered. If the period is not met, the a penalty fee can be charged not 100% of the total bookings. There are no shower caps provided even upon request. Otherwise the place is lovely, a good place for a getaway and rest. They were generous on food (dinner and breakfast) at reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and welcoming.
Thank you very much to the Summerset Place Country House staff, my hubby and I were there for only a little while this weekend attending a wedding in the area and we loved our accommodation with Summerset Place. We had the King Standard Room (Room 1) and were happy with everything from the room setup, to the overall facilities and breakfast. All the staff members are really friendly and professional. My only request would be to please move the DSTV decoder to an area where you can easily change channels while lying on the bed, as the decoder is currently situated on top of the the bar fridge, right against the back, so you almost have to sit up straight in order to change the channels. Our stay was lovely and we will definitely return!

We were looking for accommodation in Bela-Bela for a sporting event, but also wanted to experience the surrounding bushveld feeling. What a beautiful guesthouse Summerset Place is. Beautiful rooms. Friendly and very helpful owners as well as all the staff. Delicious breakfasts and dinners. Saturday night they had a barbecue outside for us. Around a fire we ate deliciously and visited. Absolutely nothing is too much trouble for the people. We can definitely recommend Summerset Place. Lovely pampering stay.

We were very impressed with the facilities and the neatness. It is just a pity that you can only use the spa till 16:00 which means that the last booking should be by 15:00. We were also quite disappointed that breakfast was only served from 07:30. I am of the opinion that breakfast should be served at least from 07:00. Otherwise there truly is no other critique and the whole facility lends itself to being a very popular place.

Very good service, close to town and very good value for money. The rooms are really nice and very spacious and well furnished. Service very good, went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. It's close to town if you need to get in quickly, but it feels like you're in the middle of the bush. Very good value for money. I have stayed in many guest houses and none come close to Summerset for the same money.

From the moment I arrived there it was a pleasant surprise. With our work we end up in many guest houses and this guest house is the only one we have stayed in that really looks like what the photos show. No deception. Everything was clean and tidy. For me personally, it was a wonderful experience and the calm and rest was just what I needed. Even the breakfast was delicious and I really can't fault it. I would definitely recommend the place to everyone. I can't wait to go there again.
The ideal place for a break from the city.
Excellent facilities, food and service, my only concern was security. I didn't sleep well on the first night trying to be security for my family. I suggest they put electric fencing.

Accommodation comprises 12 rooms and can accommodate 26 guests. Each room is air-conditioned and has a TV with selected DStv channels, a bar fridge, and a tea and coffee station. Crisp white linen and towels will add to your sleeping comfort.
