It was absolutely beautiful and peaceful!
We had a wonderful stay at Sunset Bush Camp.
What a wonderful stay! Friendly people, great location and homely tents with everything you need to make your weekend in the bush an unforgettable experience! We'll definitely be back!
We had a very nice stay. Enjoyed every moment and would book again. Everything was fantastic.
Had a nice stay for sure.
From arrival to departure we received only the best friendly service from the resort. It was a truly enjoyable weekend and we would recommend it anytime. Thank you very much for your hospitality. Hope to be able to saddle up with you again soon.
Especially nice. You are tops. Will visit again!
Very nice. Will visit again.
Als was very nice, people very friendly and gas free.
Great environment if you want a break away from the busyness of the city.
This was our 2nd visit. Neat and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again.
Very peaceful and quiet, nice swimming pool with a view over the field.
Friendly service, clean facilities, beautiful scenery.
It was an awesome chance to get away in nature. The tents are very well equipped. The ablution facilities and kitchen are also very neat.
3rd visit and will visit again. Quiet, peaceful and extremely friendly and helpful.
The tent was well equipped and tidy. Although the big dirt road to get there shook a lot, the view and tranquility of the forest was worth it. We would definitely recommend the place.
Pleasant, peaceful environment.
Thank you for helping me out of a situation. It was a good stay, thank you.
It was the best ever glamping we have experienced. André, the host, was really very helpful, friendly, and available to assist us 24/7. What an awesome person. 5 ️ rating for them.
Great experience in the bush. No complaints.
Very calm and relaxed atmosphere. I wish I could stay longer!
Great stay, it's very comfortable, the host is so friendly and you feel like you're inside the bush.
We received such a warm welcome from the host upon arrival. The safari tent (nr 6) was very comfortable, and they are all very private with secure parking. The kitchenette is sufficient for self-catering, and the en-suite bathroom was nice. The tent had its own braai where you have a view of the bushveld. There is a beautiful clean communal pool on the premises, which was awesome during the hot mid-day to just chill there and cool off. There is also a little shop on the premises for any essentials, cold drinks, sweets, etc. Arlington Brewery is just a few minutes away where we enjoyed several nice meals and beers in a relaxed garden setting in the middle of the bushveld. Our only advice - Take mosquito repellents/coils. The fan in the room is very strong, so a little too noisy to sleep with it on during the night (maybe just for us), hence you need to keep the mosquitoes away in some other way. We will definitely be back!
Sunset Bush Camp, is an absolute jewel that is hidden. Everything is working, I experienced more peace than ever in the last year. It was a totally renewable experience, and I will definitely repeat this.
Perfect place to break away from the city. Very quiet and excellent service. Will go back again any day. Nothing more needed for a weekend away.
I had a great time at Sunset Bush Camp in Dinokeng. The camp is a little piece of paradise in the heart of the bushveld, with Africa's Big 5 surrounding you and more than 450 bird species to look for. The accommodation was luxurious and comfortable, with air conditioning, clean linen and towels and a well-equipped kitchen. I also really enjoyed the activities they offered, such as the guided game drives, the forest walks and the swimming pool with a wooden deck. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Andre who made me feel very welcome. I would like to personally thank him for his hospitality and knowledge of wildlife. I would definitely book with Sunset Bush Camp again and recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable bush experience.
Safe, neat and clean. Tent 4 kept us safe during the storm Sunday night and the rain all night.
The gravel road is crazy but so much worth it.
Absolutely worth it! Nice view and nice pool. There is also a nice little shop that supplies ice and wood and basic necessities. The staff is very friendly. I definitely recommend Sunset Bush Camp. There are only 2 small suggestions: the inclusion of steak knives in the cutlery provided and "2-ply" toilet paper instead of "1-ply".
Lovely, quiet, peaceful and safe.
The location is ideal as it is not close to any of the main roads. We saw a surprising number of bird species near the tent. We will definitely go again.
Very quiet, lots of animals and got good service.
Was a wonderful stay! Would have loved it if the pool was accessible, but understand that winter only ended now.
Very nice place, would just like to see more of the Big 5.
Facilities were clean. Looking out over the plain with zebras walking home at night and meeting the local tjeriktik was a priceless experience. Some of the items in the tent do need a bit of maintenance - drawers, cupboard doors etc and the small fridge struggled to keep our snacks cold.
Affordable and very close to Pretoria.
Very peaceful surroundings.
We originally booked one of the tents. Upon our arrival, Aiden took us to the tent. To my surprise I was then informed that bathroom facilities were not part of the tent, I was surprised as the photos on the website had a shower etc. shown as part of the tent. I would not have booked this if I had known that I had to use a separate ablution for bathroom facilities. Apparently the 'safari tents' do have their own bathing facilities. We asked if there was a safari tent available, unfortunately there wasn't. Aiden suggested a chalet which was available. Chalet 3 was available and we took it. The surroundings are wonderfully peaceful and the chalet was clean and had the basics one needs for such a quick getaway. Chalets were a bit crowded and one could hear the baby and children crying in adjacent chalets, exactly why we booked the tent for privacy. Unfortunately there were some basic things in the chalet that definitely need to be looked at. The towel rail fell off on one side when we hung the towels, the bathroom door hung on one hinge and could not close properly, besides there is very limited space in the bathroom. The one wall plug is loose in the wall and pulls out together when one pulls out a plug (dangerous). None of this prevented us not enjoying the 3 nights there, but for me first impressions count, how I feel about a place and basic maintenance of the chalets etc. is important to ensure comfort.
See stars.
The tent and bath facilities were pleasantly clean, the utensils in the kitchen could do with a scrub with a scorer every now and again. Everything else was on point. Great Sho't Left destination, lovely for a reset in the bush. Had a wonderful time and will definitely be returning to this lil gem.
It was great to be in the game park within 1 hour. The place is tidy, well maintained with friendly, helpful staff. Our game drive was wonderful, you can't believe that you can see lions, rhinos and cheetahs so close to Pretoria. Will definitely be back with the rest of the family.
Clean neat and everyone friendly. Felt at home.
Had no problem helping us with direction, shared information about areas to visit. Very friendly reception and information shared.
Sunset Bush Camp is tidy with everything you need for a weekend getaway. Andre is a wonderful host and we really enjoyed the tranquility.
We really enjoyed our time at Sunset Bush Camp.
Was very nice. Driving very nice.
We had a great time. Excellent place!
The hosts are helpful and friendly. We stayed in the cottage and it was clean and well equipped with everything you might need for a few nights in the bush. It was peaceful and relaxing - would definitely recommend it to others.
Tent no. 4 was just like in the picture. Clean and well maintained, with everything you need for a weekend visit. The camp is so quiet and peaceful - and the animals even came to visit us! What a privilege to experience it. Thank you very much.
Andre, the owner made us feel very welcome and at home. Thank you very much. The small shop on the premises also helps a lot if you need something quickly. We were very lucky to see 7 lions.
It is quiet. The field is beautiful. The people are friendly. We 2 could rest wonderfully.
It was wonderful and very friendly people. Neat and clean. We had a wonderful time. Was our fourth time there again.
We had a good time, as we asked, we were against the wire, had a few visitors such as giraffes, warthogs, rabbits, zebras. Recommended, value for money. Lovely pool too.
Tent very comfortable, and has everything you could need for your stay. The reserve has many attractions, wild animals and neat places to eat. Andre our host went out of his way to make our stay pleasant.
See stars.
Nice getaway spot in the heart of Dinokeng. Meet all the requirements. Andre is a great manager and goes out of his way to accommodate everyone. Will return there again.
On our arrival there was a small problem with the electricity which was quickly sorted out. In general, the accommodation is of a good standard.
Being in the bush after only an hour's drive is wonderful. Experiencing the sunset and hearing the night sounds of foxes and hyenas. To exchange the city for a break in nature is already a plus point.
We enjoyed our stay, the chalet is well equipped, the view is stunning, staff friendly. The location is good except for gravel road is not suitable for a normal car. Excellent definitely coming back.
Shared kitchen facilities and bathrooms are tidy. The view is beautiful and wildlife is constantly walking past the forest camp. Rhinoceros were seen from our porch in front of the tent and many blue wildebeest. The road to the forest camp is quite good, but there is a low water bridge that frequently floods and can be a potential problem for any normal, low car to overcome. The other main road is very bad corrugated iron road, on the way to Safari Mall. Not intended for any pregnant person, even though it is only 8 km. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Thankful for the air conditioning!
It was fantastic, everything we needed to grill and cook with was in the cottage. Nicest, peaceful weekend in a long time. We saw a lot of animals in the reserve. Thank you for your effort and hospitality.
Friendly staff. Clean and tidy chalets.
Camp is neat. Swimming pool spotless. Lovely to listen to night sounds.
The fact that large groups took the chalets next to the shop and pool made it a bit difficult for me and my son to access the pool. Everyone goes for the quiet and doesn't want to bother strangers when they are away on a weekend by walking up and down past them to the pool and the shop. If there is perhaps another swimming pool between the family chalet and tents it will make everyone feel more comfortable. Furthermore, it was a very nice visit.
We were welcomed with open arms, the people were incredibly helpful. We met incredible people who also came to rest there. The swimming area is incredibly beautiful and you can rest your soul there. Wildlife was walking outside our tent door and was a nice experience for us. Thank you very much Uncle Andre for always being so helpful. It was really nice.
The place is so neat and decently furnished. One needs absolutely nothing more than what is available. The owner is so friendly and helpful. The view from every tent and chalet is breathtaking! Many thanks to Sunset's team, we really enjoyed visiting you. We recommend the place for sure.
Place not crowded and people friendly.
Would recommend the tent camp.
It was a lovely time.
Everything was 100% as always. Good, friendly service. Clean and well appointed. Just a pleasure to stay there.
Everything had been wonderful. The place to stay, the people went out of their way to make us feel welcome. It was really nice to stay in a safari tent. I will do it again as soon as possible.
Andre and Chris are phenomenal hosts. It's our second time at Sunset Bush Camp and they'll see us again in September. The 4x4 route is awesome!
What a gem of a place! Accommodation was amazing! Will definitely be visiting again soon.
As always it was an enjoyable break. Comfortable and the management was very helpful as always. Saw a lot of wildlife and can't wait for the next visit.
Fantastic location. Friendly reception and helpful staff. Will definitely go back again.
Wonderful rest and peace.
Very peaceful people. Thank you Andre.
Awesome weekend away. Will go back for sure.
We enjoyed our time at Sunset Bush camp. Management is friendly and helpful. Tents are very nice, clean and comfortable. Will definitely recommend them.
It was really nice to visit you, and to be welcomed so kindly, there is absolutely nothing we would change at Sunset bushcamp. It's perfect.
We really enjoyed it. The staff are friendly and helpful. We went on a "game drive" and it was an experience. The team went out of their way to make it worth it, we will never forget it. Seen a lot of wildlife. Absolutely worth it. Thank you very much for a neat 5 star experience!
Great hosts, clean, quiet and private.
We have been there twice and will definitely go again.
We went with our 2 year old and it was an absolute treat. The chalet was perfect for our needs and we enjoyed the tranquility, wildlife and nature so much. We drove around daily and saw many animals! Will definitely go back.
Very friendly people and was very beautiful.
Private, neat and secure.
All I would suggest is that there should be soda glasses. We only had 2 wine glasses, so had to drink soda from 2 coffee mugs.
It was a lovely weekend. Top class.
Very neat, calm and a hospitable team. The family tents are more than enough. Will go back again.
The whole experience from start to finish was great. Very comfortable, well appointed and quiet. We did need an extra night to really appreciate it all.
Sunset Bush Camp is small enough to feel very special, you don't really see or hear people around you, very private. It's a fantastic getaway, quite with small children too!
Great place with great customer service. Friendly campers, lots of wildlife viewing - and beautiful sunbags! I will definitely come again and bring friends/family!
It's a fantastic place with great people.
Facilities where as advertised. Separate private bathroom for each tent, shared kitchen. Beds where very comfortable. Pool was great to break the heat. Self drive was pleasant as always and plenty of animals where to be seen for the most part. Saw Kudu, Warthog, Blue Wildebeest, Red Hartebeest, Impala, Giraffe, Zebra, Sable and of course Rhino! Plenty of birds to be viewed as well! Staff where great and friendly to! Had a very relaxing time especially in the evenings when everything goes dark and quiet and your can hear the nature around and see the stars while enjoying the old South African favorite, a wood fired braai!
Extra effort was made for things that bothered us. Would love to stay there again for a weekend.
Both days it thundered late in the afternoon, but it in no way spoiled our visit. We thoroughly enjoyed the veranda kitchen of the chalet and made dinners in the iron braai as the braai area was obviously too wet for a fire. As far as we were concerned, it was part of the forest adventure.
Central with all the routes very close.
We were able to spend some quiet time together as a family.
The caretaker, Andre, was helpful and went his way to inform us about the place.
We had a great time. We also saw a lot of wildlife.
Accommodation was well equipped, value for money. Would definitely recommend Sunset Bush Camp.
Would recommend to anyone.
The setup is great and we really enjoyed ourselves. The tents just need a bit of TLC as our zip was stripped on arrival, the one lamps globe didn't work and our fire bucket had a hole in it. Otherwise nothing else was an issue.
The tent accommodation suited us well, we were driving through the reserve most of the day. Tent is well ventilated and cooled off soon after opening all windows.
Surprisingly great location, the safari tent was comfortable, all the required amenities where there and the electric blankets made a difference to the nights chill. Andre our host was supportive and forthcoming in assistance. Val did a special game drive with a good sighting. The tent location has a good view of the reserve
Peaceful and very relaxing. Time to recharge.
Wonderfully peaceful and quiet! Very clean and tidy! Will go again.
Enjoyed our stay in the bush.
Place overall was nice and was made to feel welcome by Andre. Lived in a combination of tent and cottage which was clean on arrival. A few points that I believe need some attention (can see a woman's input is needed). In the house and tent there is no such thing as a table/bench on which you can place your bag and is all in the ground. Even bedside tables are small stools that basically only allow for lamps. Trash cans at cottages are not emptied, even though the overflowing trash can was at the braai to give an idea please. to empty No broom or mop to sweep floors (it was a rainy weekend and struggling). Also feel that the small kitchen that has to be shared between several tents is limited. The bathroom is good per tent. Would recommend cottage option rather than the tents.
The photos do not look like reality at all. Grasses are very long and the tent part is not open at all as in the photo. A lot of stuff didn't work.
Microwave doesn't work, electric blankets don't work. Air conditioners in poor condition. Switch on and off. Front glass door cannot lock. Just weak. Definitely would not recommend nor visit again.
The owner, Chris, and manager, André, went out of their way to make sure our stay was memorable.
Sunset Bush Camp is very neat, peaceful and is surrounded by the natural beauty of Dinokeng Nature Reserve. Was warmly welcomed, and felt at home. Would recommend to anyone!
The service was great. Excellent stay. The most beautiful sunset.
The people are friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to put us first. The tent was clean and had everything one needed. It was quiet and peaceful.
Cute place for a break from the city. Close enough, but also far enough from the city. Comfortably furnished. Neat and clean.
Absolutely value for money. Chris and Andre put in a lot of effort.
The spot we stayed in was perfect and facilities were perfect. They could maybe supply a knife option for cutting cheese/salad stuff as we struggled with that a little bit. Air con was great to have.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would definitely return for more visits.
The camp, our tent and the ablutions are clean and very well laid out. Everything works perfectly and we enjoyed the stay.
The safari tents are clean, well kept and you have everything you need. Will be back soon!
Very happy with all aspects at sunset. Was a great stay.
Walking in the field amazing, very safe. Interesting information and a great opportunity.
Thoroughly enjoyed the break and so near to Johannesburg, it was easy to reach and get home.
The room is cozy and the camp conveniently located. Sam is extremely competent and assisted us. The place is clean. Will definitely go there again.
We really enjoyed our time at Sunset Bush Camp. The camp is very well equipped and you have everything you need. Very neat. We will definitely stay here again.
Great experience and Sunset Bush will be sure to be seeing me again in the future.
We stayed for a week and it was peaceful and we had a great time relaxing. We stayed in Chalet 1 and the animals came to say hello through the wire at night.
We had such a great time at Sunset Bush Camp! The facilities, rooms and bathrooms exceeded all our expectations. Andre, Chris and their team are always there to help, even if it's just to help close the tent if it suddenly starts to boil! Even the team with the game drive went out of their way to make our experience remarkable. I would recommend it to ANYONE, and we will definitely be back!
Accommodation is excellent and Andre very friendly.
The tents are private and nicely furnished with the essentials. One of the nicest beds we've slept on in a long time while traveling.
After being stuck in the city through lockdown , this little getaway still within our borders was exactly what we needed. It was the perfect bush experience with very comfortable and warm chalets in the cool winter nights. It was quite , relaxing and restored the energy tank. The service and hospitality was superb and we felt very special and were looked after so nicely .
As always, things at Sunset Bush Camp were perfect. Everything clean and tidy. Even if most units were full, you don't know about other guests. The silence and the woods were heavenly. A bit far to drive in the self-drive area to find game but still got a lot to see. Thank you Chris and Andre for a long weekend out of the books. Already planning a follow-up.
Will visit Sunset Bush Camp again anytime!
Very neat with a fantastic sunset. Very quiet with wonderful nature sounds with lions roaring nearby. Will do so again.
Only holidayed in Gauteng because of lockdown.
Sunset Bush Camp has very friendly and helpful staff. They offer an affordable getaway with neat facilities. The camp is very well located and offers easy access to self-drive routes in the game reserve.
Very safe, luckily the charet had air conditioning in it. The tents are very hot but everything is clean and tidy. The owners very friendly and helpful.
Received very good and friendly service from Andre and Chris. We will definitely come back to you again. We had a great stay and could have had a good rest. Thanks again for everything.
Would definitely want to go again. Good location, Andre is also happy to give good advice for wildlife watching. Very neat and good hospitality.
Sunset has definitely gone down a bit since we were there 2 years ago. We also emailed owner about the kitchen not having everything needed. Tents' zips are broken. Sunset definitely needs a facelift. We won't be going there again anytime soon.
The perfect accommodation in the Big 5 Dinokeng Reserve. Jackie is very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Plenty game to see just a stone's throw away from Pretoria.
The weekend was way too short. We will definitely have to do a trip like this again next year.
Was a really relaxed atmosphere. The wildlife lives right on your doorstep. Silence and stars - heavenly for a break from the city and yet so close.
Our family group was all together again for the first time in five years. The ages ranged from 11 months to 73 years and we all had a very nice weekend. The accommodation and camp are very neat and we were received very kindly. The large braai area and social hall with fully equipped kitchen was a winner and worth the few extra edges time and time again. Thank you very much!
Thanks so much Jackie, you're a wonderful host. Thanks for making me and my grandson's weekend so special. Everything you need is there! You may arrive as a stranger, but believe me, you leave as family. Could really recommend it to anyone.
Thank you so much Chris for the amazing stay at your camp, I will definitely see you soon. We felt so at home and comfortable. We definitely got more than what we expected.
I would definitely recommend Sunset Bush Camp. It was a fantastic weekend and exactly what I expected. Affordable, neat, peaceful and the owners make the guests feel like family. When we woke up on Saturday morning, we saw giraffes, zebras and a hyena right next to the fence. On the game drive we still saw rhinos, elephants and blue wildebeest, so the children were very excited. The tent houses are clean and comfortable. Thank you very much Chris and Bernice, we will surely see you again soon!
Very nice place, so peaceful. place is very neat and friendly welcoming by Sam who helped us. Will definitely recommend and go back.
Very nice stay, will stay there again.
Chris and his daughter welcomed us at the gate and showed us where our tents were, which was fitted out comfortably and neatly with all we required for the weekend. Although we were in the bush our husbands are great rugby supporters and Chris went out of his way to provide us with a TV and DStv and the men were in 7th heaven. The lounge we shared also had air-conditioning. When the power went off he arranged a generator. We were able to rent the kitchen dining area with the lovely boma and spent a lot of time there playing board games and just being together with the family with a lovely bonfire. The kids went on the game drive and came back with lovely pictures and were very happy. Some of the women get hot flushes and we could book chalets for them with air-conditioning and there was a lovely pool that helped cooling off as well. Also close to the brewery and could go and have a snack and a beer or an R&R with some friends that were also camping in Dinokeng. I loved staying in the tent, with the sound of nature around us. Had some giraffes visiting us and heard hyenas. Just amazing if you want to be in nature and want to rest and enjoy your family. Oh, and don't forget, the two snakes that visited us. Not poisonous, but fun to see some kids first running around and then taking pictures.
This is the perfect place to just relax and escape from the city's noise. Here in the bushveld, you can truly relax.
Very good value for money.
We enjoyed the weekend away. But on arrival the amount of guests was not correct. However Sunset Bush Camp managers helped to set up our tent according to right amount of people.
Everything was perfect. We really relaxed!
If anyone is looking for a chance to hike in the wild, Sunset Bush Camp is the place for you. Chris, the walking guide, is an incredible wildlife expert and made me feel 100% at ease. His game drives are definitely not something to miss out on. Breathtaking experience!
This was our second time this year at Sunset Bush Camp and once again it was nothing but pleasure to stay there. The calm and quiet is just the right medicine for the soul. You will see us again for sure. Thank you for the good service and attention, Uncle Jackie.
See stars.
Tents are comfortable. I liked the uncomplicatedness of it.
We were well received, shown the ropes and well supported during our stay. The facilities are outstanding with a lovely, firm bed and nice swimming pool. The camp is beautiful.
It was a very peaceful camp where you could just switch off and surrender yourself to nature. Chris was very friendly and helpful and made us feel right at home.
Everything was great! Maybe just a tip to think about in the future, is to maybe purchase a jungle gym/trampoline for the smaller children, apart from that, the rest was excellent!
It is very spacious, with all the accessories needed. Val also made us feel very much at home. Would recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful getaway.
Sunset Bush Camp is just the place if you want to relax and get away from the everyday rush and stress. The silence is lovely and area beautiful.
Heerlike wegbreek in die natuur met Groot 5.
Lovely surroundings and accommodation. Will visit again.
We had a great stay at Sunset Bush camp, the Game drive was awesome, we got to see Elephant and a few other animals.
Comfortable accommodation, lovely bed and cuddly bedding. Electric blanket a lovely plus. There was no 2-plate stove as per booking, but very friendly and helpful Sammy brought us a gas bottle with plate. Tent 5 far from parking. All other accommodation is closer to the parking. Sammy saw that we had a down leg and hand that were not cooperating and helped us get our luggage to the tent.
Lovely, quiet weekend getaway near Pretoria. Perfect for that unplanned getaway.
My daughter and I stayed in a tent for 2 nights. Best night's sleep in a long time. The beds were so comfortable and the bedding just the best quality. Private barbecue area next to the tent. Bathrooms perfect and clean. The highlight was the swimming pool with the deck overlooking the woodland. Thank you Chris and Bernice. See you soon!
From arrival to departure the service was absolutely fantastic. It was everything and much more than we expected. Many thanks to Chris, and also to Sam for looking after us so well. I would thoroughly recommend Sunset Bush Lodge to anyone who likes the quiet of the bush. As soon as there is a problem, even if it is on Eskom's side, Chris-they do everything in their power to solve the problem as soon as possible.
It was the best week of vacation I've had in a long time. Chris and his people were so helpful from the time we stopped there until we drove off. The chalet was cleaned very nicely every day and the bedding was beautiful and neat. Chris stopped by often to see if we needed anything. It was really very nice and I will definitely go there again. If you just want to rest and switch off Sunset Bush Camp is the place to go.
Chris is a true host. On game drive, a lot of effort was put into making it special. Housing is affordable and clean. I would stay here again.
The service was very good and friendly. The place is very neat.
Accommodation in tent was very nice. Everything very clean and tidy. Well organised and very helpful. Will definitely go back.
Our weekend really was extraordinarily pleasant. We were well received by Sam and Chris. Thank you for a nice weekend. It was nice and quiet and very close to nature with everything we needed. Your units are clean and the white bedding makes it extra special. You'll see us again!
What a wonderful destination. Chris and his team were very helpful and were constantly available. A beautiful place. Will definitely go again.
We had a lovely weekend away and could relax in peace and quietness of the bushveld.
We had such a comfortable stay and Jackie was so friendly and helpful! They will definitely see us again!
Would recommend to people anytime. Sam is very helpful and friendly and always there if you need anything. We went all Wednesday and he was always just around the corner to assist you. Chris took over on Friday and exactly the same as Sam - friendly and helpful with everything. Just wanted to say a big thank you for an awesome time at Sunset Bush Camp - I will definitely go again.
Really an amazing place for a weekend away. Nice and quiet. Got amazing service.
Nice restaurant near the Dinokeng Reserve. Lovely place to experience the bushveld. Friendly service and all very helpful. Great place!
I've been under a lot of stress at work lately and that's why a break was so necessary. I decided to try Dinokeng. I chose Sunset Bush Camp's family tent because I am a big camper myself but didn't want to set up and take down a tent for a weekend. Sunset Bush Camp surprised me beyond my expectations. Chris and Bernice were very hospitable and it felt like we were staying with our own family. The facilities were super clean. We did game drives with Chris where he shared his passion for the field and animals with us. I will definitely go again. I left a piece of myself there.
The visit was very nice. It was the 2nd time we were there. Will go again.
We had a great stay, everything is clean and tidy, we loved the silence of the forest and the sounds of animals at night. There were also animals near our cottage and we would definitely recommend Sunset Bush Camp.
We had a very relaxed weekend at Sunset Bush Camp. It was really quiet and peaceful. We really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back for a next visit!
Chris is very hospitable. Facilities very neat. Was a lovely break away from the city. Highly recommended.
We enjoyed it very much. The people are really hospitable and everything is clean and tidy. It is definitely a place we will return to and will recommend to anyone with love.
See stars.
Close to the city yet you feel miles away from everything and everyone. Lovely place where you can just recharge for the usual hustle and bustle. People who like camping and are not full of frills will appreciate the place.
Lovely camp, very neat tents surrounded by the quiet woodland!
From the start the owner was helpful, ensuring our comfort and going out of his way to make things pleasant for us. Don't miss out! And the gravel road? Who's afraid of that? It stretches from the Tau gate and Safari Mall, but is not bad at all.
The accommodation is neat and clean. Jackie is helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We will definitely go again.
Had a great time at Sunset Bush Camp. It's beautiful and very peaceful. Accommodation is very clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend it if you're looking for peace and quiet in the bush.
Very neat. Sam received us kindly and took pity on us throughout the entire stay. He went out of his way to make our stay comfortable. It was a real African experience for our French guest.
Will go again and tell everyone.
I was amazed at how spotless the unit was and how neatly the camp has been laid out, ensuring privacy. Everything we needed was there and everything worked. Staff very helpful and friendly. We'll surely visit again.
The host, Chris, was so friendly and made us feel welcome all the time, as were the staff who were very helpful and friendly. The camp is incredibly neat and the Safari tent we stayed in was camp in the truest sense of the word only with a little luxury of a nice bed etc. We will definitely visit again and tell others about it.
Wonderful weekend away from the noise and rush of the city! Great way to de-stress and reset.
Beautiful and very relaxing place, lovely getaway for a weekend.
We stayed in one of the safari tents. It was so neat and comfortable. Most comfortable camp that I'd ever done. Can definitely recommend it to someone who's keen for camping but wouldn't want to pitch up tent.
We wanted easy overnight accommodation close to a wedding we attended and Sunset Bush Camp was ideal. Sam, the caretaker of the accommodation, was very helpful and friendly. Without Sam the establishment would not be able to function.
Friendly reception with neat facilities.
Very nice stay and well rested.
Quiet, clean and tidy.
We enjoyed the stay. Jackie was very helpful and friendly. Everything was neat and clean. The tents were a little hot, but the fans brought relief. However, the barking of dogs at surrounding farms was disturbing at night. This detracts from the wildlife experience. Dinokeng is a park-in-the-making and will benefit from thorough overall planning of the way forward.
We went as a group of friends for my birthday and slept in a chalet, family tent and two standard tents. It was clean and tidy with everything needed. The pool was a plus for the kids. In the evenings it was quiet and peaceful around the fire and we could listen to the foxes and look at the stars. We were also very privileged to be able to see the rhinos with their little ones. The kudus were also a beautiful sight every morning. We will definitely be spending a weekend at Sunset Bush Camp again. Thanks, Chris, for all your effort.
I will recommend Sunset Bush Camp to anyone who just wants to break away and be calm. There is no noise and the silence is wonderful. The premises and accommodation are neat and staff are friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay there again.
Very nice stay. Everything is clean and neat and very well equipped. Chris and his team are very helpful. Will recommend to anyone. Will definitely go back.
Our family holiday was incredible! Quiet, relaxing and beautiful. Thank you to Chris and Jackie for wonderful service! Will definitely return!
Chris will definitely see me again, thanks for an unforgettable weekend.
We had a great time, Chris went out of his way to have everything ready for us. The game drive was delicious. Will definitely go back.
We had a very nice stay. Chris was a great host. The Chalet was very neat and there was everything you need. We will definitely come back again!
Chris was very helpful and went to a lot of trouble to make sure that everything is okay. The staff were very good and we will stay there again for a getaway.
Sunset Bushcamp is a peaceful camp where you feel close to nature. Chris is wonderful, helpful and always trying to improve the camp. Can really recommend it to anyone.
It was a lovely weekend. Very peaceful and an ideal break from the city. Really a place where you can light your fire, put your feet up and enjoy the sunset over nature. Very friendly owners who are always ready to help. We will come again for sure.
It was a very nice break. Just a bit cramped and not as private as it looks in photos. But it was really nice and they provide good service and the place is clean and tidy. In the park there is a lot of wildlife, just not the ones we wanted to see. Larger animals were absent on our visit.
Sunset Bush Camp is a amazing place with friendly staff. The campsite is very clean and neat and the cleaning staff it top notch. Chris made us feel very welcomed and always catered for us when necessary. I would recommend this place for anyone with or without children, big groups or couples. All the necessary is provided and catered for in the winter and summer.
At arrival we were welcomed by Chris, Sam and the Jack Russel. Accommodation met our expectations. We had a large kitchen and entertainment area at our disposal. Socialising in the boma was really enjoyed. Would definitely go there again.
Thanks for a great weekend, friendly reception and a fantastic experience! Thanks for the great stay!
Sunset Bush Camp is fantastic and was really great fun. Wonderful tents and clean bedding. They must make the pool safe for children. It's not a very safe swimming area. The stairs to the pool also do not have a railing to hold on to. Someone is going to get hurt a lot.
What a nice weekend. Tents so neat and clean, and what made it even better was the white bedding. Chantel and Hannes, thank you very much for your hospitality, you are beautiful people! See you again soon. Thank you so much Sunset Bush Camp!
It's a small camp, but very peaceful and beautifully clean. We could really relax.
Loved the experience. The space was beautiful and clean. Service was great too. The children loved the game drive.
A lot of fun and we had everything we needed to just relax.
Had a good stay in 2 of the tents and one chalet. Veld was very dense and we saw little animals.
Awesome, awesome time. Thanks to Sam for making us feel at home.
A weekend at Sunset Bush Camp is too short. The tents are very neat and luxurious. Every tent is very private and we weren't even aware of the people around us. Comfortable beds and the sounds of the bush served for a great nights rest. The bathrooms and kitchenette has everything that one needs and it are clean and neat at all times. The swimming pool has the most beautiful view over the Bushveld. Thank you very much Chris and team who made us feel so welcome. You will see us again soon!
We were a group of friends with small children and it was a really nice weekend. Nothing was ever too much trouble for Chris (our host). The place is very nicely rested, clean and we will definitely go back again.
The place is awesome and we really enjoyed our time there. Will definitely go again.
Sunset Bush Camp hasn't been going long, but it doesn't look like it. The accommodation facilities were neat and modern and beautiful. Everything is cleaned every day and the people are friendly and peaceful. We had a great time there.
We were there on the weekend of March 24, 2016. The accommodation is very neat and clean. We were very kindly received by Chris. When we got there, Chris already had the fire going for us. It is a very peaceful area with beautiful nature. The was definitely value for money as well as the hospitality by Chris and his father-in-law that goes with it, makes the weekend away even better. We will definitely visit you again. Thank you!
Couldn't have asked for more. After a bit of a search we chose Sunset. Uncle Jackie showed us the reserve throughout the weekend on his own. Our chalet was spotless, tidy and excellent. Everything was available in the separate kitchen. Lapa well equipped for nice times. Uncle Jackie and Chris, you will see us soon!
This is a completely new place, but shows a lot of potential. Accommodation is clean and comfortable, and Chris is a great host - very attentive and focused on his clients. We didn't have much time with the morning game drive, so Chris took us out in the afternoon as well, free of charge. It would be good to put up a trampoline/monkey bar/swing etc. for younger kids, but considering that the place has only been in operation for a couple of weeks when we stayed there, they are doing very well. Definitely will come back.
We stayed overnight at Sunset Bush Camp and were some of their first guests. It is a very nice and neat camp and Chris is very welcoming.
Everything is so nice clean and tidy. You just feel at home. Chris is a very good host and takes good care of his guests. Can't wait to visit again with the whole family.
Chris was very friendly and helpful. When we arrived the fire was lit and we could braai. The tents were private and the big bed was very ccomfortable. The rooms were clean and neat. We will definitely return and recommend it to everyone.
Excellent and friendly service in a beautiful environment.
