The bedrooms are furnished with either twin beds, a queen-size bed or one king-size bed. One of the rooms has 2 double beds. All rooms have an en-suite bathroom. There are 2 bathrooms with showers and 4 with showers and baths. Six of the rooms lead to a courtyard with a swimming pool. The Semi-tented Bush Cabin and Tented Bush Cabin are away from the lodge in the bush and sleeps two each as well as an outside shower each. A minimum stay of 2 nights is required.
The rate includes dinner, DB&B and it is served in the open-plan restaurant, the braai area or the bush braai area. There is a 120 m² deck with a bar area that offers views of the watering hole and the Drakensberg mountains, and in the courtyard, you'll find a swimming pool with sun loungers and braai facilities where delicious braai meals are prepared for guests.
Activities on-site include bird watching and game drives.
There are many exciting activities in the immediate vicinity to do, such as a Quad Bike Safari, Blyde River Canyon boat rides and a guided bush walk, day safari to the Kruger National Park. 6 guests' feedbackFriendly welcome and with everything so neat and clean we immediately felt at home. The help needed was excellent and I can't believe there is anything to complain about! Truly a wonderful experience!
We were a group of 7 and had the lodge mostly for ourselves. The boma and the vistas from the deck was the best. Dewan was exceptionally helpful. The rooms each have their own themes which makes for a great choice.
On the plus side the accommodation and furnishings are first class. The rooms are beautiful and well maintained. There are 6 rooms around the pool but only one was let while we were there. We were pretty much left to our own devices and there was very little customer service. We could not even find the place that our host booked for dinner and when told that we could not find the other Lodge we only received an oh. All rooms share a well furnished kitchen but sharing this with 5 other couples may be difficult. It would be great for booking the whole lot for a group getaway where all were close friends or relations. When we eventually found the other lodge for eating, they knew how to offer hospitality and we had a great afternoon and last evening in their bar, game drive and great dinner by firelight with drums and great ambience. There is very little in the way of game, but we had some German and Italian guests on the game drive and their excitement was uplifting.
Would like to know about the extra fee, it would also help to know that the place is not really near the Blyde River, but just in the area.
Ons het baie lekker gebly. Die plek is skoon en netjies en stylvol versier. Sal definitief aanbeveel vir 'n wegbreek.
The facility is excellent self-catering facility and friendly reception.
