The unit is definitely smaller than it looks in the photos, but has everything you need. For a two-week stay, getting laundry clean is a problem without a washing machine. The 'Laundromat' in town was also overloaded and unable to help. The sun in the afternoon that shines directly on the porch and in the living room is quite bad, 'blinds' or curtains in the living room will help a lot. The outside of the unit needs maintenance, many of the wooden panels on the outside have fallen off (probably blown off) and there are tires littering the garden that must have been rolled out from under the unit by the baboons. The building outside looks untidy. The bin was full after day three and was never emptied, even though we pushed the bin to the road on Thursdays (which we learned was emptying day). At least we were able to take more bags to the dump at the entrance to town to throw away. But the view and sunsets are breathtaking, unit inside is very neat and clean. The hostess always responds quickly to requests and help.
The baboons are troublesome, we wanted to relax but literally could not leave a window or door open. So we felt totally caged. The sleeping units make terrible noise when the wind blows because loose panels on the sides. The mattresses on the double beds are not comfortable at all. It's loud and so we didn't have a good night's rest. The shower panel in the one en-suite is gone and so we couldn't use that shower because the floor got soaked. The fact that there are only gas braai facilities is a problem. South Africans barbecue with wood, so it is more suitable for foreigners. No closed grill in the kitchen. Fridge too small for long stay. No television a problem, especially if you go away with your children. We missed the fact that there is no television in the detail. There were no lockable black bins and we had to drive all rubbish away. Otherwise the view was beautiful!
There needs to be blinds at the window above the bath as there is no privacy if people are on the patio. The hot water situation needs to be addressed. Water changes from hot to cold when one is having a shower.
Lovely place. Beautiful view from deck. Dog friendly, however very small 'garden area' with no fence. Only 5 minute walk from beach. Managing agent Anneke very friendly and helpful.
Wow, we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful ocean view on the balcony and the little grass courtyard overlooking the mountain was a bonus. The house was equipped with everything we required and the books were a bonus. Thank you for sharing the home with us. We really enjoyed our stay.
Sitting out on deck and looking out over the bay was amazing.
Funky house with views in all directions but the best part: you see the surf from the lounge & kitchen so can 'watch your kids' from the house. Unexpected rain and cold didn't put a damper on things as lovely wood burning stove to keep the place warm.
Local agent is well organized. House nice and tidy.
Not even 24 hours after departure I was was threatened to be blacklisted from lekkeslaap as my partner (who was handling payment) hadn’t had the the WiFi in the house (we were only told after check in that this had to be Pre arranged) to settle the remaining amount. DO NOT STAY HERE AND DEAL WITH THIS LADY!
