The view and the verandah catching the sun was just beautiful and it is a relaxing place to recharge. Super friendly for the doggies who loved it as much as we did. Thank you!
Only hitches were sorting out the Wi-Fi and difficulties with the TV. Caretaker Dougie was most helpful in eventually resolving these issues.
I'll definitely recommend this place.
Suurbraak Barn is a beautiful place. So well equipped. So much space. There you can just kick off your shoes and relax. The hostess, Astrid, just waited for us at the front door. We were made to feel so welcome like old friends. Lovely garden patio where you can barbecue and hang out. It feels like paradise and those views to the mountains! Would definitely recommend.
Very very nice. The view is incredible. Everything in the house that is needed is there.
A beautiful place with a beautiful view of the mountains. The house is very clean and tidy. Unfortunately there were only bags of sugar and no coffee. The road noise is quite annoying during the night if you are a light sleeper. We will definitely visit the place again.
Located in the VGK mission station, safe environment. Also attended a worship service on Sunday - only twenty kilometers from Swellendam.
This was on the day that the Springboks played Ireland in the RWC. The DStv was eventually sorted out, however, I spent the first 3 hours of my time stressing about another option and sorting the DStv out with the host Astrid, to watch the rugby, rather than relaxing with my family. The Wi-Fi did not work at all and was not resolved. This would have been an issue had I had any work to do.
Farmhouse surrounded by the village. Everything was clean and tidy. The photos on the website just need an upgrade.

Property is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need for a nice weekend/week away. The house is very spacious and tidy, and the porch is perfect for long walks by the fire! We enjoyed it very much!

It was a short and very enjoyable stay. I believe one should stay at least 3 days in Suurbraak to explore the beauty of nature in the surrounding areas. Will definitely recommend it to my friends and family.
We found the quiet we were looking for. Nice jogging routes with little traffic in the early morning. Convenient cooling and ice facilities. Very nice and private porch with fantastic view, as well as from rooms. Very comfortable and spacious.
We had a very peaceful weekend with friends. Near Suurbraak there are also many nice places to visit and this makes the place ideal if you want to stay centrally.
Relaxing overnight stay. Most awesome view over the mountains.
We had a fantastic break at Suurbraak Schuur over New Year. The house is dog friendly so we took our dogs along who had a ball. The house is very comfortable and opens up onto a large lawn, with great views and access to the river which is great for swimming. We look forward to our next visit.

Lovely place to stay with great hospitality. We did not have much time to enjoy the ground as we were doing a trail run but would definitely stay there again!
Beautiful garden and loved the ducks. Only criticism would be that the floorboards upstairs would be very noisy if there were a crowd staying.
My only complaint relates to the overall cleanliness. The slip covers on the wingback chairs in the lounge were dirty and should have been cleaned as were the loose white carpets in the bedroom. The patio could also do with a good cleaning as it was very dusty. Otherwise, lovely!
Great stay, loved the fact they're dog friendly and will bring mine along for future visits.
