Our stay was very comfortable, and our hosts were wonderful.
Accommodation was very nice and tidy. At least the owner asks in advance before they come to clean and bring new towels. Very peaceful and will book there again on our next trip.
Fantastic location and view.

Struggled to connect to WiFi.
Was a quick one night 'sleep over' after a hard 3 day/2 night hike in the Drakensberg. The best part was a nice bath & bed with an electric blanket! All the amenities are there, although we used very little. Was neat and clean, thank you very much!

The place is in a perfect spot. But it needs a thorough cleaning. There was an unbearable smell of something rotten next to a fridge, from the day we arrive until we left.
Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed our time at Swallowfield. We could go for a walk, attend a bird of prey show, visit museums, drive around and take in nature, fly a kite, ride a horse, or just have a quiet barbecue and hang out at home with the kids. The area is so beautiful. I will definitely visit again. James is an excellent host and very helpful.
We had a great stay, the view was so beautiful and the tranquility was just what we needed, there was so much to see in the area, will go there again as soon as it snows.

We had a nice stay, the bed is a bit old and small, but everything is clean and comfortable.
The rondavel was beautifully neat and well equipped, we had a wonderful stay and the view and space around is beautiful. It is close to many tourist attractions, hiking trails in the mountain, close to shops to buy food and close to restaurants. The host was friendly and very helpful.
We only stayed overnight and found everything we needed for a pleasant stay.
Well located, cheap.
The only inconvenience we had to some extent was the effect of Eskom's sudden load shedding. The weather hardly cooperated either. The rondavel is clean and tidy and big enough for two people. The dish washing situation at the braai place is a bit impractical. If it rains, you can't wash dishes and the outside light doesn't shine all the way to the sink. These are small foxes, but James' helpfulness and kindness made up for it. The rondavels are good for an overnight stay, but if you want to stay there longer, which I would like to do, you have to rent the house.
The rondavel is very well equipped - all we could ask for, and James was very very helpful - great host. Good central location

James, the owner already let us know early in the morning that our place to stay was ready and that we could arrive at any time. He himself welcomed us and immediately made us feel at home. We enjoyed the time there. The location ideal for getting to many of the activities in the area.
The chalet was very nicely furnished, and far enough from the next door chalet, that it felt like we were completely on our own. The view was amazing! The manager was also very friendly and always available to help.
Lovely view. Quiet and near to all amenities. Enjoy it so much we keep coming back properly being there 3 times. Also like the fact that they allow only 1 night accommodation.
James is very helpful and accommodating. Nice, tranquil environment with a beautiful view. Rondavel well equipped. Linen and towels provided. Close proximaty to Drakensberg Boys Choir - exactly what we were looking for.
The location is perfect and that is why it makes it worthwhile to stay over.
Reception very friendly, but rondavel very cramped and especially the bathroom inside rondavel. I think there is definitely a lot more room for improvement to make it worthwhile for guests.
Overall an enjoyable stay. Upon arrival it seemed the rondavel hadn't been thoroughly cleaned and all the cutlery and utensils were grubby. Also the duvet and pillows smelled like they were in need of more regular washing. Thankfully we had brought our own bedding and were prepared to wash and clean. The rondavel would look a lot cleaner if the floor was tiled, the walls consistently painted and with proper burglar bars. Also the DVD player didn't work. Our host was very helpful and gracious. Could have been an amazing stay if the first impression was better.
Found the rondavel nice and warm. It is rustic and has what is required. It is well situated for activities in the Champagne Valley.

Very well furnished. Everything one needs. Very centrally located. No need to drive too far to attractions. May provide a TV with channels in the future. But otherwise we had a nice stay and of course the view makes up for everything.
