There are walking trails along the dam’s edge with various short cuts should you prefer an easy stroll. The walking trails take you through streams and over rocks, and can take an hour to 90 minutes.

This was our second visit to Swallows House! The rate is very reasonable, the house is excellently equipped, cared for and maintained. Regular email and WhatsApp communication from the agent, and the web page with route directions, security, codes and the load shedding schedule were excellent and made our visit very easy. Swallows House is neat, clean, spacious and contains everything needed. The dishwasher was the icing on the cake!
I would definitely recommend it for a weekend getaway or even for a family vacation. The view is something special over the Da Gama Dam. The environment is clean and safe.

Beautiful location. Calm atmosphere. Security in the house and in the estate. Fully furnished.
Pictures do no justice to how beautiful this place is. View is amazing. Host took care of the smallest to biggest things. They even kept hot water bottles for cold nights, there are heaters in the bathroom as well. An inverter for loadshedding would make this place even more comfortable.
Unfortunately the roads have been damaged with all the rain so visiting Sabie is not a quick trip. Swallows House itself was such a treat and they really thought of everything to make your stay there as comfortable as possible.

Great place to relax, enjoy the view and visit Kruger Park or Blyde River Canyon. We stayed here 6 years ago with our young kids and returned now with our teenagers and we still love the place.
What a great place! There is no wifi or TV that can distract you from the tranquility and recharging of nature. It's very safe too. The rooms are nice and spacious. The kitchen and living area are furnished with everything you would need. Monica is very helpful and keeps you updated with the loadshedding schedule. We would definitely recommend Swallows House!

A spacious 2 bedroom and beautiful en-suite unit. The kitchen is well equipped and has a large gas stove for when there is loadshedding. The stoep is large and spacious and the view is absolutely stunning. If you love nature, peace and quiet this is just the spot to unwind !!! Its nestled in the Hazyview Nature Reserve with access control, the units are widely spaced out and you have your own peaceful spot. The mongoose and monkeys visit on a daily basis, making it quite entertaining. My only negative point is that they need to consider Wi-Fi for the unit, especially when it is a rainy day and where you are staying for a longer period. I would definitely recommend Swallows House, the host is very accommodating and always available but the setting is just wow!

The host was friendly and ensured that communication was accurate and timeous. The house itself was nothing short of perfect and absolutely stunning.
Swallows House is between White River and Hazyview near two gates of the Kruger Park. Conveniently equipped with a dishwasher makes the place a winner. You have to be careful at the entrance to the estate because the cars are speeding and there are a lot of big trucks. Unfortunately, the occupants of unit 5 made quite a bit of noise during our stay. The first two nights there was late music and on Sunday they worked on their deck until after dark.

While one could hear the distant drum of the traffic from the highway (if one stood outside on the deck), the actual location was very peaceful and tranquil. A place to get away from it all. We didn't have a chance to swim in the dam as we used the house as a launch-pad to explore the wonders of the Panoramic Route. But had we stayed longer, we would have spent at least one day to chill and enjoy.
Swallows House is the place where you can relax and unwind. It is safe and the house has the necessary appliances even if there is load shedding. Thank you Monica for the communication during load shedding and power outages.
The house was spotless when we arrived, the view is amazing, everything in the house is modern and up to date. Very comfy beds and huge shower!
Animals on the reserve make it fun for everyone. House is well equipped with all necessary appliances. Room is neat and bathroom is clean and big. Just a pity there is no footpath to the dam. Older and large built people will not be able to get there to see the beautiful view.

You really get a lot for the money you pay. Everything works nicely in the house and is properly equipped with everything we needed. We had a great time sitting by the fireplace in the evening and also had a great barbecue on the veranda with a beautiful view of the water. Large rooms with comfortable beds and beautiful bathrooms as advertised. There was also an alarm system for our safety. I don't think we will look for other accommodation again if it is available.
The house was lovely and neat. It was a very comfortable stay. It was also very central to all our outings. The owners were fantastic letting us know everyday if there was planned power outages and the times. If we had any questions there was always a speedy response. We would definitely stay here again.

Swallows House is an ideal venue for relaxing and distressing from noise of the world. Ideal for family or with friends or partner. It has all the facilities for a self-catering guesthouse. It boats beautiful views of the lake on the balcony.
Swallows House is a beautiful, neat and comfortable holiday home in a very beautiful setting. Everything was fine upon our arrival. We could rest wonderfully and listen to the osprey in the morning. Places to visit are just around the corner. We would very easily recommend and choose Swallows House again if we come to holiday in the area.
We spent 5 idyllic days at Swallows House with our 2 adult children. The house is ideally situated with a lovely view of the dam from the very comfortable stoep hammock. The colony of mongoose that greeted us on our first day was a treat as were the monkeys that entertained us most mornings! Monica's decor style and attention to detail makes for an incredibly comfortable home from home experience with a gourmet kitchen well-equipped with everything we needed. Swallows House is well situated for a day visit to the Kruger National Park and surrounding tourist sites. We had a lovely time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying at this little piece of paradise.

It really is the place if you just want to relax and explore the area. The house is well equipped with everything that you may need. Just bring your own food and fire wood.
Swallows House is a lovely home to relax in and just chill. The house is very well equipped with good crockery and kitchenware. Beautiful, durable furniture and good quality linen contribute to making it a special place. We had a problem with DStv which was immediately addressed and solved by Monica.
We as a family really enjoyed it, we absolutely just rested while we had a beautiful view. This is one of the best places we have ever visited. It has a very "homey" feel. The unit is very neat, the only problem is that the roof fans are noisy and the set speed is also just broken. The other suggestion is that only a sharper light is placed outside for grilling.

When we entered the house, we knew we were going to have a good time here. The house is tastefully furnished, everything works and is very clean. The environment is very quiet, nature right up to the house. Lots of birds to look at. Staff of the lodge very friendly and helpful, enjoyed delicious meals at hotel. The spa was very refreshing. Can recommend Swallows House anytime.

Inrichting van huis is mooi en ruim. Op de compound is een restaurant waar je lekker kunt eten en er is een zwembad. Op het meer kun je varen en vissen. Perfecte uitvalsbasis voor krugerpark en omgeving Hazyview.

The house is spacious and well equipped and well planned with beautiful en suite bathrooms. We really enjoyed our stay. The only downside is the audibility of the traffic on the R40 if you sit outside on the deck.

The fact that we had a 36 hour power cut due to an estate power box giving problems dwarfs all the good qualities of the accommodation. The resort manager's communication with us about the problem and progress with the repairs was extremely lacking. Furthermore, there was no inquiry from his side about how he could assist us. Eg supply of candles, supply of fridge facilities, etc. Under normal circumstances we would have been able to enjoy our stay.
