We enjoyed our stay very much. After a long day on the road, we were able to stretch our legs by walking around on the property, and afterwards we enjoyed time outside on the veranda. The bed was extremely comfortable.
The stay was very nice, but unfortunately the reception staff gave the impression that we should just check in and be done and they were not very helpful.
Not good because we booked a self catering unit and got a room with a "coffee station".
This was the last night of a very nice holiday, but this establishment was definitely a disappointment. We book with you specifically so that we can book a specific room. We booked a king room. However, we were accommodated in a small single room where a double bed was pushed in. The king room is large and comes with a kitchenette and sitting area, which we didn't have then. On reception it was explained that they accommodated our alternative due to a group discussion. I would think that an institution informs you in advance if your accommodation is downgraded so that you can exercise the choice of whether you still want to stay there. The cost for all the rooms is the same, but our reservation was not honored.

Good quality furniture, bedding, towels and beautiful paintings in the house. Lovely porch and beautiful garden. Friendly reception. Safely went for a jog out on the dirt road early in the morning. No criticism of our stay.
Swallows Nest is a very comfortable guest house in Laingsburg. It is a true oasis with a large place where children can play and run. Comfortable guest house with delicious breakfast. Payload is a bit inconvenient with little light.
There are several types of accommodation to choose from. The self-catering and then also a room in the house which is perfect for overnight stays. Although there was load shedding, there are even things that keep the mosquitoes away. It is really very beautiful, especially if you like antiques and art. Staff are all friendly and helpful. The site has a large enough space for a large pram which of course helped us a lot. You won't have to unhook your stroller at all.
It's clean, good bed/mattress, everything you need is there, the garden is beautiful, pool clean and nice, towels smell clean. The whole visit was a nice experience.
Very interesting and peaceful town with shops like Wimpy, Steers, Kentucky and petrol pump stations.
Rooms are spacious and tidy, with a peaceful atmosphere. Parking is a bit tight.
Nice facilities and area. The only issue was hearing footsteps from the room above as the ceiling in our room is the floor of the room above.
Swallows Nest is a treat and we had a great afternoon exploring the town of Laingsburg, the Flood Museum is very interesting. We loved our evening walk around Swallows Nest garden and up the hill to get a good view of the town while munching on some of the best biltong from Karoo Biltong in town. Who knew Laingsburg was such a winner?
Lovely to sit on the stoep with a little wine and listen to the singing of the folk. Received a friendly reception from a "swaeltjes" that is very charming. Picturesque garden. Spacious room with characterful furniture. Even had an offer to buy us ice cream at the shop in town. However, little things falter. Why not ice in the fridge? How about two wine glasses with the other utensils?
No meet and greet on arrival, dark rooms. Slightly run-down appearance, no backup for load shedding. No TV that we could find. We left after one night!
Floors are dirty and bathroom shower has no door. Room dark. Hope they don't have any star rating.
We were very warmly received. Everything in the house was at our disposal, coffee, tea and the kitchen with all the amenities, it felt like you were at your own home. Also met the einar, Estelle, it was nice to chat with her. Also met another guest there from Pretoria, we had a good time with her. I would definitely recommend Swallows Nest.
We had a nice stay here. The accommodation is very neat and clean. We checked in very late in the evening and we were able to make arrangements with the owner who made it very convenient. We only had a problem with the aircon, when we turned it on the power went out and we had no power, but luckily we went straight to sleep and when we woke up the problem was sorted.
It is a very nice place if you want to relax and rest, with a well-kept garden and recreation area. The management was very professional and helpful. Will definitely sleep here again if we drive to the Cape.
