23 guests' feedbackThis is our third visit to Sweet Thorn and this will not be our last. We love the animals that visit the house throughout the day. The house is comfortable and well-equipped.
Beautiful place. Received great service from the hostess.
Was there for 7 days. Quiet in the forest, animals come to visit every day. Atmosphere calm and able to relax. Was private and on our own.

Sweet Thorn House was literally the perfect place for us. Every single need was met, the animals visited the house plenty, and the location made it convenient for us. Thank you for the great stay!
We had a wonderful stay. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a lovely cool veranda and swimming pool. It is nice and close to the river. The house was nice clean and very comfortable. Many animals walk in the area. See you next time.
Sweet Thorn House is well-equipped. The addition of an inverter made such a difference. We enjoyed our stay! We will definitely be back.
Thank you very much for allowing us to use your beautiful home. The place was very neat and it had everything you need and more. Everything worked 100% and all the animals that came to visit were a big plus. We have been to Marlothpark a lot and your place was the best we have ever had. Will definitely visit again.
Sweet Thorn House is a gem and the perfect place to create special memories. We spent the weekend with family and the kids loved it. They were able to see various animals up close. We will definitely stay here again in the near future.
The house is in the best location possible. Everything was just perfect. The accommodation was idyllic and the scenery and animal life were fantastic. We will definitely be holidaying at Sweet Thorn House again.
We had an amazing time. The house is thoughtfully designed and appointed. We wanted for nothing. Everything from the inverter and battery set up, to sharp knives, to a large fan, comfortable furniture and a lovely garden that was visited by kudu, wildebeest, zebra, bush baby, giraffe, and a mongoose. We loved it and will definitely be back again.
We really enjoyed Sweet Thorn House. The children were in the pool all day. The animals were around the house every day to get something to eat. We had a peaceful and lovely time. Thank you Helen for allowing us to visit your beautiful place. We will visit again.
The house is very neat and clean, splash pool, aircons in the rooms, security gates on all doors, decent furniture, inverter and WiFi with Netflix, we would definitely recommend Sweet Thorn, it's definitely value for money. We are rested and ready for the rest of the year ahead. Thank you very much.
Sweet Thorn House is a beautiful house that has everything you need or think of for your family or friends. It's refreshing to see animals nearby. We enjoyed our weekend.
Walking distance from a prime lookout point.
Beautiful place! All you need. Cleanliness noticeable. Communication excellent. Lovely veranda overlooking the braai and swimming pool, which the children thoroughly enjoyed.
Great place to relax.
We really enjoyed it and will definitely go there again.
Sweet Thorn House was a delight to stay in for the week. Sufficient space in each of the 2 en suite bedrooms which could easily sleep 6. The living area was comfortable with sufficient seating for just lounging around and watching Netflix (LOL!!) and the spacious kitchen made preparing meals an absolute pleasure. If need be, there is also a separate cottage that can be rented which can accommodate another 2 guests. Hot water is supplied via gas geysers and (funny enough. ) load-shedding provided some time to just sit in candle-lit silence and appreciate being in the Bushveld. The house is well-positioned to ensure that all kinds of animals can be observed meandering through the property - zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, warthogs, buck, and kudus, the list goes on. And many of these animals we could feed by hand which made the experience all the more special. The fire area is great for open braais or just having a fire going while sitting on the spacious patio watching the animals come to feed. Although we didn't use the swimming pool (a great asset for the summer months), it was well maintained and serviced during our stay. The house is also conveniently located, close to the mini shopping complex, restaurants, the tourism office and easily accessible via Gate 2 of Marloth Park. Helen, you have an amazing home with all the necessary comforts that one needs for a restful Bushveld holiday. Kind regards, Robert de Mink.
It was just what we needed. Quietly in the forest the animals came to say hello every day, morning and evening. It was just breathtaking we enjoyed it so much. Definitely see you again.
Thank you for the beautiful accommodation. It was clean and tidy and there is everything you need. The pool was well maintained and was a beautiful clear blue on arrival. We had a lot of visits from animals and my 6 year old really enjoyed it. It's also conveniently located near the border wire. It was definitely worth it and we would love to stay there again. Grandma was also there, and she enjoyed it as much as we did.
It was all good, loved the stay. Just a few things that bothered me were there was no bedding on the beds, had to look for bedding, finding bedding in cupboard and not on bed. But further it was a great stay.
